I Love James Dean.but alot of the older people that knew him say he wouldnt have been so much of a big deal if he hadn"t of passed away so young.. But I still am crazy over him.. btw i live pretty close to fairmount actually go there quite a bit
THANK YOU!!..so much for posting this video. I am a self proclaimed biggest fan of james dean, haha,, im basically dreessed like him always and read and search constantly about anything james dean-like..i stumbled across this video and it pretty much is now one of my favorites.thank you very much for posting this.cant wait to go to fairmount.
The Winslow family have, from what I have been told, been very considerate about sharing the memories of their cousin with the world...I know that when I stopped and took pictures of the house, they were outside and waved at me...very nice people...we owe them a debt of gratitude...mention that to the Winslow that you know from Dean Roosevelt in Toronto.
Thanks this was very interested, I love his films very much and I have also made a tribute to him yesterday. thanks for sharing this with me, it means a lot.
i used to live near there before i moved to carmel, it is a great place to visit...and jonesboro(close to marion),In is a great place to live...it is a very small town, but you know everyone, and they are all very nice. I still go up there alot to see my family...i miss living in jonesboro
Very well put. I was there in the fall of 2004 and I felt that there was a reverential respect for the town being demonstrated by the people walking around the fairgrounds (maybe it was a park) where all the old cars were. I hope that you folks haven't had too many unfortunate incidents over the years.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. What makes Fairmount so great is the people who live there. Of course, Marcus Winslow and his family have been incredibly gracious to people for so many years. When you think about the number of irritating people that they have had to put up with, and see how they continue to accomodate all of us, that's pretty special.
Amen! I miss living there. Fairmount is the kind of place people can go to when they wish for days gone by. Fairmount will always be my hometown, no matter where I live. Some day I hope to live there again.
Cool! thanks for posting that. Im planning a pilgrimage next year... not sure why, to be honest. I live on New Yorks upper west side and yesterday I made my way through the park over to east 68th st. to see the apt Jimmy had when he lived here. Looks like they're remodeling the entrance but you can still see the round, nautical windows on the fifth floor where he lived...
Nice! In September 2008 motoGP will be in Indiana for the first time. I would like to be there and visit all together, but this trip is impossible for me :(

I had the chance to visit Fairmont in Sept.97 - A charming little town with kind, decent people. You're lucky.

I visited Fairmount this past summer and the museum was fantastic! To see so many of JD's personal artifacts in person was a moving experience.
Thanks for this great vid!
