Another thing is when jake decided to watch himself on the video when he tied himself to the refrigerator he realizes that he blacks out... He would of realized that he blacks out if he were to record the interview but the doctor told him to write instead. @xDwSxTrogdor121 the Darkness grows its powers from creative writing thus jake being a writer the darkness attempts use him to free itself and destroy the town. this become apparent during the gameplay, as far as connections go, the lake, a writer called thomas zane and his wife and 'lamp lady' are very influential in the games story line...as for Jake i believe the darkness realised he wasnt the write to of creative writing it needed and killed him off...allowing alan wake to step forth..

Notice the relationship both Jake and the demon deer have with the flashlight... when Jake shines the flashlight demon deer freaks out and Jake does the same when Dr. Dude shines him with the flashlight. Mystery solved, Jake is a demon deer.

Every bad guy in the game freaks out when someone shines a light on them, So why cant Jake just be a regular bad guy?
