While I'm not defending the police the cop was just responding to a call. With that said the cop should have told the census worker that he is not required to enforce federal law and left. Like you said there was no reason for the police to be there. I would've loved to see some video of you confronting both of them with being on your property without cause. What it bottoms down to is that this census worker thought she had power she didn't have.
