  • wtf where come from that radiation?

  • This comes from space, originates in distant stars, explosions and stellar winds. The higher you go in the atmosphere the more you get. In Florida, at sea level, I measured 0.06 microSv/hr what can be considered as the natural background there. In Hungary I measured 0.10 microSv/hr. Anything up to about 0.30 microSv/hr is okay. On this flight the dose rate reached 0.30 microSv/hr at 6000 meters. However, this height depends on many things, like solar activity, time of day, location... etc.

  • what is the monitor you were using there??? does it measure ionising radiation???

  • @TheDelorious Yes it does, it is a standard MKS Terra dosimeter. It measures gamma radiation in this case.

  • Ez jol becsipogott ott nekunk :), kaptuk a josagport! sz
