  • I taped this off of HBO decades ago. It's sad that this has never made it to DVD.

  • Shari is in every meaning of the word, one of the greatest entertainers to ever walk the earth. She was ridiculously talented, and easily had decades of entertainment left in her.

  • Wow, I didn't recognize Shari with straight hair.

  • I remember shari lewis and lambchop from the late 60's early 70's..i loved it so much....!

  • i have a stuffed puppet lamb chop, i <3 her

  • wow i was only a kid in the 90's and loved lambchops i didnt know she did all this!! way to go sheri.....

  • I found this performance at a thrift shop $.29 in VHS format. Shari is my past present and future. A superb entertainment. A sicere thanks for posting this magical show.

  • THANK YOU .... this made my Christmas my tape got ruined years ago and i cant find a copy ANYWHERE!!! <3

  • Shari Lewis and Lamchop and Ray Allan and Lord Charles were the two greatest vent acts of all time

  • What year is this concert?

  • Man. Jeremy Tarcher got to go home to her every night. What a lucky man he was.

  • Shari's A&E Christmas special was a yearly event for us and the kids. Too bad it is no longer shown on TV. Thanks for posting the video's,they really bring back the memories. Where can I get a copy of this show.!!!

  • WOW! Shari has an amazing singing voice!

  • "Trying to see in this hat just hell-O EVERYBODY!" OMG, LOL! That was too funny!

  • LMAO!! I luved it when lampchop came in.

  • Boy, Shari had an abundant amount of talent! SHE is what you consider an all-around entertainer...and how many of those entertainers do we have LEFT?

I absolutely LOVE this opening to her Christmas special...I remember watching "Lamb Chop's Play-Along" DAILY throughout its' original 5-year run, so seeing her and Lamb Chop in early form is a treat!

P.S. Am I the only one who thinks that outfit Shari's wearing is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS??!!

  • you know, Lamb Chop's Play Along still airs on tv. The channel is called qubo which on my converter box is channel 29-2. it airs daily @ 12 am, 5 am, and 8:30 am. i watch everyday and i love it! =)

  • Hi, Stacy!

I actually make it a point to start my day off with that show. Over here, we've got Qubo on 30-2...I just hate that there are only 26 episodes airing in rotation, when there were 200 episodes produced.

I know that the folks who own the Ion Networks own part of the series, but I'm wondering who owns the rest. I would LOVE to see the full series air on Qubo,,,but until then, I will happily keep watching what they show! :)

  • well, so far, i've only seen episodes i haven't seen and i love lamb chop! it brings memories from when i was younger and i'm only 13! i love it so much and shari lewis is a legend. and u can call me sharon =)

  • Well, greetings, Sharon! :)

I was almost 4 years old when the series first aired in '92, and watched it religiously until the show's end. Of course, a year after "Lamb Chop's Play-Along," Shari was only create one season of "Charlie Horse's Music Pizza," so that particular show is fuzzy in my memory.

I agree with you that Shari is a legend, and I highly doubt this generation will see another person as devoted to her craft as she was...she and Jim Henson both rate as innovators in my book.

  • Yeah. It came out during my mom's time. Now, whenever I tell her I'm going to watch Lamb Chop, she says, "Yuck!" But I just ignore. She does not know what she's missing! And I never even knew there was a show called "Charlie Horse's Music Pizza." And i never heard of Jim Henson. I'll look him up =) Nice talking to you. We can talk if you'd like.

  • She's missing a great show! I have never seen "Charlie Horse's Music Pizza" in syndication, so maybe someday Qubo will be able to land airing rights (though PBS might have a better shot at it).

Jim Henson is the wonderful soul behind "The Muppets" and a large force behind "Sesame Street." Talk about skills!

Great talking to you as well! Will send a friend request your way this afternoon!

  • I know she is. And I hope Qubo does land airing rights.

I did not know that he was behind the muppets. did he play kermit the frog? if he didn't, who did he play? And sesame street? wow!

Another thing, I accepted ur request =)

  • You've never heard of Jim Henson?? The guy who created the muppets???

  • RosesLavnder told me who he is. He created the Muppets and was behind Sesame Street.

  • for me its 3 am 8am and 11:30am

  • Also, u r not the only one who thinks shari looks gorgeous in that outfit. =)

  • Ahh..I love lambchop!!!!!

  • I first watched this holiday children's tv concert on The A And E Network back in the 1980's. This was Miss Lewis' first appearance as an

    orchastra leader.

  • Amazing...simply amazing! I was 15 yrs old when I first saw this concert back in 1985 when I was a young teenager! I´m from Mexico and even though I couldn´t understand much of English Language at that time....I remember I loved it! Thank You so much for the uploader for such a wonderful 2008 Christmas Gift!

  • Shari Lewis is my hero! She still is after all these years, and I can't wait to introduce her to my future children to help spark their imaginations as she did to mine! :)

  • I never outgrew Shari Lewis and Lambchop. Phenomenal entertainer. What couldn't she do? Great memories. One I now share with my nieces and nephews. Thank you so much for posting this. You've made all of our holidays a little brighter.

  • wow...she is indeed talented o.o i didn't know she could direct a band let alone sing while the band still plays....that must've taking a lot of practice o.o...aaaaaw poor lamb chop but *giggles* it was funny to see her in that hat ^^

  • Dude, my sister and i had this recorded and a VHS at one point and it was our chirstmas tradition to watch this a month before christmas and a month after followed with other classic christmas specials. My sister and i use to LOVE this. Its so great to see it again. Thank you for posting this!

  • What year did this air?

  • Shari Lewis was such a talented performer.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • you are incredible - my family taped this off of TV when I was a kid, but we don't have the VHS anymore. ahh, memories!!

  • I am indebted to you. I had such memories of this, yet searching the internet I've found nothing. Everyone talks of her career in the 60s and the 90s, you'd think the 70s and 80s never happened. It's not like she was dormant all that time.

As far as I can tell, you are the SOLE person on the whole internet who has acknowledged that her talent thrived during this time.

Even wikipedia has a huge gap during what I consider the peak of her many brilliant talents.

Thanks so much for this jewel!

  • omg... ok, today i saw on ebay a little beani baby lamb named chops the lamb.... totally odd.
