This is one crap commercial. To promote Nike? what does funkadelic have to do with Nike? Did the founder take acid? What a bloody sell out. I have even less respect for The Clinton Dynasty now. Gross. So very gross indeed. It may be a good thing Eddie checked out when he did. RIP HAZEL RIP JAMES BROWN
@oatstao The whole point of the commercial was really to capitalize off the entire "Throwback" craze that was going on during that time period. The commercials were well done, and it introduced the ABA, and the history of it to a generation that probably didn't know that there was an ABA. I don't see singing your own original music, actually music you wrote specifically for the commercial as selling out. Does that make Stevie Wonder a sellout, because he did ads for Kodak Batteries?
I loved this commercial, it was the first time a national commercial featured members of my favorite NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks..Why can't Nike make commercials like this anymore?
I remember this. They were showing a couple of commercials w/ bootsie I think & this was the last installment. but it was definitely before 2005. I only saw it once & didn't get 2 record it :( thanx 4 the upload!!!
I don't remember, 2004,05 ? All I know is this commercial ruined my life for the next few weeks because I was obbsessed with catching it every time it came on...all through the playoffs .
2002. This was actually called "Funkship" and Bootsy included it on his 2002 album - "Play With Bootsy". None of the stores anywhere near me at the time ordered it, so I had to buy it off Amazon the day it came out. hehe
at 0:07, Catfish Collins in the clown suit lifts his huge clown shoe to kick the funk off!
