Some very solid advice about the 'starting out' bit. Been shaving (legs, pits, etc) for years and it never seemed to raise any comments (although I wear jeans and shortsleeve shirts most of the time). Also took a while but grew out long hair. Down shoulder length but trying to get it to a few inches below it too.

Only problem now is braving getting the occasional clothing that 'blends in' (mainly tomboy-ish clothing). Also, from my hair I've been called ma'am from behind though. I love it! <3
