What a great performer Elizabeth was! I didn't know that she sang this song, but I remember that Gamble did. My own lyrics follow his version in a couple of places.
We think this is one of the best songs ever-- There my be a few other renditions on line, but not many. Thanks for posting it, Ron.
I just found this after remembering Elizabeth (Corrigan?) sing it at The Last Resort in Athens, Georgia, in the late 60s (when The Last Resort was a folk music club rather than the present restaurant). It brought back good memories. I wonder if there are any other recordings?
