Assuming it's fake, normally they'd create a mockup video of the interaction, and play that video on a device touchscreen device (eg PC tablet) film the fingers pressing the video. The person would memorise when to press what, pretty easy. The appearance of the slate/tablet can be changed prior with a physical cutout/frame or digitally using green screen, etc.

its impractical to type on a touch screen, the screen will get cracked, it will be hot from processing (if it were close to an atom), the battery life would be terrible and yet...millions will buy it regardless of its faults..

how will typing on a touch screen cause it to crack? and it definitly won't get hot from processing (yeah an iPhone gets hot after a couple hours of constant processing, but come on) and apple put a 8 hour battery life on a regular laptop, so putting a moderately good one in a tablet should be preetty easy.

this would be so insanely impractical..it wouldnt have anywhere near the processing power of a netbook, would require a SUPER heavy duty case to avoid the giant screen from cracking and be a complete pain in the ass to type on.....why would anyone WANT this? apple should just make a netbook...

This looks fake, the only reason i say this is the finish on the front. Apple uses a high-gloss finish and the one shown here looks more matte plastic, or some kind of paper, but who knows.
