  • i know what it is uuuuuuu uuuuuu u u u uuuuuuuuuuuuu i dont know or care what it is because i know what it is

  • y+x+y+x+2x+y+2x+y= 2y+2x+4x+2y= 4y+6x= A) 2(3x+2y)... i learned this in 5th grade dude (but i knew it in 2nd a little bit a was really good in 3rd)

BTW 2y=x in this problem so... the answer could be simplified to just 8x

    THE ANSWER IS 8X

    Also. The area is 2x(y)+x^2+y^2

  • y+x+y+x+2x+y+2x+y= 2y+2x+4x+2y= 4y+6x= A) 2(3x+2y)... i learned this in 5th grade dude (but i knew it in 2nd a little bit a was really good in 3rd)

  • the answer is D

  • 4(x+y)

  • NUMBA don't work NICCA

  • ok notice, that if you were to make concave (outward pointing) all the convex (inward pointing) corners of the figure, you are left with a rectangle having the same parameter. easy. then take any 2 perpendicular sides (pick the easiest 2 if you wish) and multiply the sum of both sides by 2.

  • The teacher is complicating the problem furthermore. Speak clearly.

  • Area= x^2+y^2+2xy, perimeter = 2(2y+3x)

  • this guy is terrible at explaining things. the perimeter is 6x + 4y which factorises to 2(3x + 2y).

You go around the shape adding up the values. But be careful because some of the sides are not labelled with x or y. starting from the top right corner going down, you have length y. the next length across is not labelled and you have to work it out

  • sorry, starting at the top left corner!! whoops

  • p= 2x+y+x+x+y+y+y=4x + 4y r u serious im in seventh grade and i can do this crap ( but imin a college preperitory school :)

  • I lov Math my favorite.

  • Oh ok

  • thanks for the announcement in your high school. did u take the test?

  • The test is rudimentary.

  • D.

The perimeter is the sum of the sides so:

    2x + x + x + y + y + y + y = 4x + 4y

You factor out the 4 an that gives you

    D. 4(x+y)

    correct?

  • No You are missing the lenghs

This figure in perimeter wise the same as the rectangle with the length (2x+y) and width (x+y)

so the perimeter is 2(2x+y)+2(x+y)=2(3x+2y) the answer A

  • uh, i don't get what you just said...O_o

  • actually i think the answer is 4(x+y)!

i mean cause i mean u used the formela of a rectangle which was 4 sides!! 2L+2W

n this has 9 sides!! n well adding all the sides does the trick!

    n well i also saw that x=2y

so if it was a rectangle the lengt would b 2x+y or 5y

    n the w would b x+y or 3y

but i still think that the answer is D but dunno!!

    can u prove me wrong??

  • Draw a rectangle around the shape and you will see it come together. Don't forget that opposite sides of a rectangle are the same length. All you are effectively doing is flipping the corners over so that the shape becomes a rectangle. On the the right-hand side of the shape it is impossible to know what the lengths of the two missing sides are but you do know that they add upto x.

  • hmm...i get (x+y)^2
