@2bluekid3 hey, great review. just watching you because im wanting to do a review on teh new kalenji replacements, the decathlon parkour vision shoe. have you seen them> theyre very good!
We weren't made to wear shoes, the reason we have so many different bones and joints in our feet is so that our feet can adapt to the enviroment we walk on. Vibram 5 fingers are amazing for both parkour and just everyday walking! Great video!
@HBparkour58 actually I promise you as long as your running and training the proper way support on your feet is actualy bad for you I could go in depth about explaining the physics of it and bio-machanics but the best way to learn in watch a video by searching "barefoot professor" then go out for a barefoot walk and maybe a VERY short run and maybe pick up a few books "born to run" and "barefoot running" cheers and train safe
Would the vibram treksport or komodosport or KSO trek do the trick for parkour. and do you anything about the NB(new balance) Minimus Trail running shoe? I got some of the basics down I would very much like to continue do parkour.
nice clip i still prefer kswiss ariake but yeah just spreading the word on a site where i buy my kicks its Shoebuy.com just for being a member u receive 10% off any shoe u buy plus its free shipping as well! email me your email @ tecknochris@msn.com for those who are interested before u sign up so i can send u a reference for a additional 10% off! oh! and one more thing for every 5 costumers you refer purchase shoes online for $50 or more u receive a $100 gift card to this site.
Buy water shoes if you don't need the toes. They are much cheaper and in every other aspect the same. Trust me I bought Vibram Five Fingers and used them for Parkour, they were broken after one month.
@frexxxxxx Im picking up a pair next pay day.... BUT.. im going to say NO! I dont need to try them to know they are no good but I will do and over view video in a few weeks so sub to get an update when its up. Thanks for the comment!
i recently got a pair of vibram kso's and theyre awesome! theyre easily the most flexible shoe ive ever worn and i love being able to feel everything im walking on. i highly recommend these shoes, if they even fit that category
K-Swiss ariakes are the ultimate shoe!! I've been doin ok for my 2nd year now and had over 4 different ok shoes but I had the best experience with the ariakes!
I broke a finger with a Fucking vibram :P, they're good but you got to have in mind that you are not wearing protective shoes and they're like hard socks. The experience is amazing and they're very comfortable
the ariake has no grip? or a grip that only lasts two weeks? I have had mine for about a year and a half, same amount of grip as the first day i got them. It is a flat rubber shoe....how the hell would that ever lose grip. The only complaint I have about the ariakes is that they aren't very stylish....
The five finger shoes thing well I have a pair kind of like that but they're made by Vibram and they have little slits at the toes and are amazing for wall runs are they as good as the five finger things???? Pls get back to me
now this is a REVIEW!!!!! i was taken away when u said the airtakes werent worth it. i swear i was. 1wk of grip?? that is even worth $100. idk if u mentioned it but how long do the 5 finger grip last?
Vibram Five Fingers will only hurt your feet for your first month of wearing them (if you walk an average of 5 hours a day). The Flow and Sprint are pretty good for free running. Trek has great durability. KSO has awesome comfort and flexibility. KomodoSport is the best for free running. They feel just like KSO's except improved. I highly reccomend them for free running.
with the five fingers dosent the impact hurt cuz i tarined barefoot before and when my foot hit the ground as i was landing from a wall run my ankles started to hurt and i landed good absorbing the impact with my knees and hips but it didnt work what r ur thoughts on this?
I've had my Ariakes for a year or so and they are in great shape for the most part. The leather in the toe area keeps ripping and I keep putting glue on it. Also, the part near the laces that you sent in for repair is the same on mine. My grip is holding up fine too. I hate thinking about having to look for a new pair in the future because of all of the variety and mixed reviews, so this vid helped a lot and I might do the barefoot/vibram thing you're doing.
No other place makes them because they have a patent on them. If your feet were sore it's probably one of two things: your form is incorrect and/or your feet are weak and need conditioning. When I started with vibrams my arches and ankles got really sore. Now, they don't and my legs are a lot more stronger and springy. I can jump so freaking high now it's not even funny. Be patient. Trust your feet, not your shoes.
What a completely un-educated statement lol. First and foremost I have had a pair of fivefingers for 8 months now, and they are the most amazing shoe I have ever worn. The only discomfort you should feel if you get the right size, is in your calves, and possibly for feet for maybe a week.
This is due to your foot being used to walking/running/landing Heel to toe, when you should be doing in on the balls of your feet.
Tennis shoes cause a high percentage of ankle, knee, hip, and back pain amongs runners and athletes. Due to taking all of or most of the shock straight up your leg, rather than on the natural spring of your feet.
Five fingers help to protect your foot, while offering grip, while running in a natural form.
My conclusion is that your younger, and ill educated on the subject, which is why you went to a doctor.
im not gonna lie the nike freerun is such a shoe to parkour in, the soles are perfect becuase u can feel everything in them but the still give you a little bit of cushion for drops and stuff like that, i am looking to get vibrams so thnx 4 the review
@PyroPKPatrik you know that fivefiger shoes actually damage your foot thats wy it hurts after 2-3 days ive went to a doctor to ask about them he said yes you can wear them but they hurt your feet just saying why do you think no other shoe place makes them
@yoscott1 ur conclusions seem to be made out of thin air than concrete fact...ur feet hurt because u've been using unnatural shoes your whole life and now since ur going barefoot again, ur bone structure is re-adapting. I don't see how you could think walking on an unbalanced layer would be better than walking on a rubber sock..
I'm close friends with team parlous and they say vibrams are shit for parkour but very good for running. 510's on the other hand just need to be worn and broken in to be properly used. So no big stunts on the first day with them. 510's are like the super saiyan level of parkour shoes when it comes to monkey grip! yeen know
@GORILLARECON Personally I disagree; and so does my training group, you see they are the best for balancing, running, landing and safety...look right there sums up a lot of what parkour is. As well as how light they are so your jumps are farther and higher, and after the 20 muscles in your feet strengthen you realize that the grip comes from your toes you don't wear a glove and grab something and say the glove has good grip its from the muscles in your arm.
@2bluekid3 Well this would all be true if the only pair of 5Tens that you wore were the free runners. there are other pairs such as the Dæscent that are very small and light weight and also have none of the padding that you are referring to with the other 5Tens. Yes it is about your toes and your technique but the five tens give you more grip for less slipping not to make you use your feet less. You can not compare vibrams to not wearing gloves and five ten are like wearing gloves.

Because wearing a pair of gloves or not it is not going to change the muscles that you use. Also if you were to wear no shoes at all then that would be like wearing no gloves. Yes virams are small and do not have any padding they still give you a tremendous amount of grip if you know what you are doing. Like five Ten they also use special rubber. so they are much more sticky than a regular pair of shoes. So to actually make your feet the same as wearing no gloves you would have to wear no shoes
@teamparlous ok one your confused I said wearing a pair of gloves stuck in one position (like a shoe) two your skin gives you great grip and y the message you where insinuating skin does nothing for you, and I do train parkour barefoot I said so in the video.
and no matter who you are doing a large gap or drop you are going to need padding or after time you are going to seriously injure yourself. weather it be your knees or you ankles or feet. It will happen with improper foot wear. So unless you are just flipping around in your yard 5Tens are a much better shoe for parkour and free running. Good for the beginner because of the extra padding that will help you to not get injuries when you start training. Or of the very advanced for when you are
@teamparlous ok again you act as if we are born with shoes on and there is a tag on our feet saying warning never be barefoot, look for millions of years every animal has been barefoot its the way we where designed and seeing how parkour is just our body natural movement our feet have been designed to with stand it also that little bit of 'padding' will not make you supper human so no matter what you need to practice caution...look you missed the point of this video and your just being a dick
@2bluekid3 no i am not trying to be a dick. I am just trying to help people. So should NFL players take off the pads and not uses any protection. No that would not be safe. There is no point in making something more dangerous if you do not have too. and five ten do bend and work very well for parkour and freerunning and are also a much better shoe for people that are just starting out. Also you should check out the WFPF KO's.. They are only $39.99 and they are light great grip and very durable.
@teamparlous look one NFL players can play with out pads yes they may get hurt more but its possible but even so is not a good comparison because parkour is about using your own body and PROGRESSING up to the bigger and harder things.
@2bluekid3 you train on concrete with no shoes? Drops climbs and flips.. (Not in the grass) You would have to train for months to be able to do that and you would have to go threw a lot of pain to get there. To get your feet that tough that they would not get cut every time that you climbed a wall or did a wall flip.
@teamparlous how is this a big shock to you yes I am barefoot almost every time I train I feel nothing if anything it feels better when I do a wall run it almost tickles my feel I started out with short walks barefoot then went longer and longer than short walks then longer ones then I would go in the forest and do parkour sessions barefoot then I just stopped wearing shoes I believe I can do even more barefoot than with shoes. and ps never once got hurt not even a cut!
@teamparlous Ok... I am tired of this argument. i did not even intend for it to be a argument.. But anyways you can train any way that you like. It does not bother us one bit. But there is one thing that i would like to clear up. You say that you can go higher on a wall climb bare foot than you can with shoes? Well I dont think that is possible! So if you want in a friendly manner we can both make videos of us touching or climbing a wall and see who gets higher. Other than that just train safe!
@GORILLARECON im kinda poor so would vans be a good free running shoe i mean thats what i wear free running and they have nice flex their light and they have good traction so if you could ask that would be greatly appricated peace out
@monkfish946 They have more material than any of them making it the least flexible and they are used only for extreme cold conditions making them good snow shoes and river shoes but not great for parkour I recommend the sprint kso and bikila only
It annoys me so much that shoe manufacturers still aren't really producing flat, grippy and cheap shoes. I'm a UK13 (US14) so I can't get feiyues, dunlop volleys cost £40 here in the UK (not worth the time they will last) and vibrams cost £80+
I love barefoot and I forefoot strike, but I want the protection from sharp objects... I regret to say that the only shoe I feel comfortable wearing are skate shoes (laced up tight). They tick all the boxes except for grip.
@killkillzonezone@killkillzonezone A high drop is about your standing shoulder hight because that's about the hight you should roll; a high drop for me to where I may think twice about it is about 9-10 feet bit keep in mind I train almost every day and conditioned my body to handle it; so keep up the hard work and train safe :)
i learned the basics and then got some nike darts. they dont stick to the walls that i have around here (maybe it would be better on a diffrent surface) and then i got some vibram's and the STICK to the wall even though some say that other shoes stick, i think that its all about the style and method of the user.
@2bluekid3 by any chance do you know what shoes have good grip on pinted walls i have had alot of shoes the best ones were the k swiss classic those arent ment for parkour but they worked a bit
Very helpful review, man. I was in the market for some Five.Tens, but I have reconsidered. As for a personal perspective, I have always heard that some run-of-the-mill, cheap running shoes are the best you can buy. They may not have all of the perks of some parkour-specific shoes, but they are easy to replace.
i use the five ten free runners and i LOVE them. it feels like your walking on air. is so cool. and like you said the grip is rediculously good. i have gotton a 5 step wall run in them but i dont count it cause my fifth step slipped a bit.
@UrbanSomething Mayte, even beter shoes than nike darts, are kelenjis, Honestly Not a single bad thing about them, plus there only £10 which is probably $16 or something, Honeslty uf and even Wfpf created there shoes to make them similar as kalenjis i interigated tem about it and i got the truth out of them ;)! Get them !!!
@monkfish946 yeah the best thing about them is they let your toes be free, like they should!!! as well with having little padding and strengthen your feet.....(sorry for the bad spelling im tired hit me up for more questions)
been barefoot running for about two months, got the bikilas about two weeks ago. got past the pinky toe fatigue, calves about done conditioning. Loving the bikilas. the pads will slip off? I'll mos def be careful. Thanks for the awesome interview man.
for beginning free runing/parkour wat shoe should i get from a store like footlocker or finishline........really jus want a shoe with alot of grip' and flexibility...................have u heard of the nikie avant plus my cuz has them?
@bmj2468 just get any shoe with a flat rubber design on the bottom the rule is the more rubber toughing a solid surface the better grip. if it has a crazy design its used for things like dirt and grass....really I recommend being barefoot though
@UrbanSomething yeah the ariakes where good shoes its just for the price they do really need to be more durable because they dont last long at all. the fivetens are great shoes but I just could not stand the size and stiffness of them thats all they are very durable and the grip is great. I have herd of the Nikkie being very good shoes and at the price its really a win win. as for the vibrams I dont care what they look like after all it looks like a human foot and feet look pretty normal to me.
how bout komodos?

I'm close friends with team parlous and they say vibrams are shit for parkour but very good for running. 510's on the other hand just need to be worn and broken in to be properly used. So no big stunts on the first day with them. 510's are like the super saiyan level of parkour shoes when it comes to monkey grip! yeen know
GORILLARECON 1 year ago
@GORILLARECON Personally I disagree; and so does my training group, you see they are the best for balancing, running, landing and safety...look right there sums up a lot of what parkour is. As well as how light they are so your jumps are farther and higher, and after the 20 muscles in your feet strengthen you realize that the grip comes from your toes you don't wear a glove and grab something and say the glove has good grip its from the muscles in your arm.
2bluekid3 1 year ago

So to actually make your feet the same as wearing no gloves you would have to wear no shoes
teamparlous 1 year ago
@teamparlous ok one your confused I said wearing a pair of gloves stuck in one position (like a shoe) two your skin gives you great grip and y the message you where insinuating skin does nothing for you, and I do train parkour barefoot I said so in the video.
2bluekid3 1 year ago
and no matter who you are doing a large gap or drop you are going to need padding or after time you are going to seriously injure yourself. weather it be your knees or you ankles or feet. It will happen with improper foot wear. So unless you are just flipping around in your yard 5Tens are a much better shoe for parkour and free running. Good for the beginner because of the extra padding that will help you to not get injuries when you start training. Or of the very advanced for when you are
teamparlous 1 year ago
@teamparlous ok again you act as if we are born with shoes on and there is a tag on our feet saying warning never be barefoot, look for millions of years every animal has been barefoot its the way we where designed and seeing how parkour is just our body natural movement our feet have been designed to with stand it also that little bit of 'padding' will not make you supper human so no matter what you need to practice caution...look you missed the point of this video and your just being a dick
2bluekid3 1 year ago
@2bluekid3 no i am not trying to be a dick. I am just trying to help people. So should NFL players take off the pads and not uses any protection. No that would not be safe. There is no point in making something more dangerous if you do not have too. and five ten do bend and work very well for parkour and freerunning and are also a much better shoe for people that are just starting out. Also you should check out the WFPF KO's.. They are only $39.99 and they are light great grip and very durable.
teamparlous 1 year ago
@teamparlous look one NFL players can play with out pads yes they may get hurt more but its possible but even so is not a good comparison because parkour is about using your own body and PROGRESSING up to the bigger and harder things.
2bluekid3 1 year ago
@2bluekid3 you train on concrete with no shoes? Drops climbs and flips.. (Not in the grass) You would have to train for months to be able to do that and you would have to go threw a lot of pain to get there. To get your feet that tough that they would not get cut every time that you climbed a wall or did a wall flip.
teamparlous 1 year ago
@teamparlous how is this a big shock to you yes I am barefoot almost every time I train I feel nothing if anything it feels better when I do a wall run it almost tickles my feel I started out with short walks barefoot then went longer and longer than short walks then longer ones then I would go in the forest and do parkour sessions barefoot then I just stopped wearing shoes I believe I can do even more barefoot than with shoes. and ps never once got hurt not even a cut!
2bluekid3 1 year ago
@teamparlous Ok... I am tired of this argument. i did not even intend for it to be a argument.. But anyways you can train any way that you like. It does not bother us one bit. But there is one thing that i would like to clear up. You say that you can go higher on a wall climb bare foot than you can with shoes? Well I dont think that is possible! So if you want in a friendly manner we can both make videos of us touching or climbing a wall and see who gets higher. Other than that just train safe!
teamparlous 1 year ago
@GORILLARECON im kinda poor so would vans be a good free running shoe i mean thats what i wear free running and they have nice flex their light and they have good traction so if you could ask that would be greatly appricated peace out

are the Vibram Fivefingers: Flow shoes good for parkour? please answer
monkfish946 1 year ago
@monkfish946 They have more material than any of them making it the least flexible and they are used only for extreme cold conditions making them good snow shoes and river shoes but not great for parkour I recommend the sprint kso and bikila only
2bluekid3 1 year ago
the vibram are very good shoes to play sports in and running in i recommend buying them

The alien glow five tens are the best shoes eva! and I've done a 5 step wall run.. O_o I'll upload it sometime on saturday or sunday.

They tick all the boxes except for grip.

how high do you think a high drop is for you?
killkillzonezone 1 year ago
@killkillzonezone @killkillzonezone A high drop is about your standing shoulder hight because that's about the hight you should roll; a high drop for me to where I may think twice about it is about 9-10 feet bit keep in mind I train almost every day and conditioned my body to handle it; so keep up the hard work and train safe :)

i learned the basics and then got some nike darts. they dont stick to the walls that i have around here (maybe it would be better on a diffrent surface) and then i got some vibram's and the STICK to the wall even though some say that other shoes stick, i think that its all about the style and method of the user.

@2bluekid3 by any chance do you know what shoes have good grip on pinted walls i have had alot of shoes the best ones were the k swiss classic those arent ment for parkour but they worked a bit
realderekbrothers 1 year ago
Very helpful review, man. I was in the market for some Five.Tens, but I have reconsidered. As for a personal perspective, I have always heard that some run-of-the-mill, cheap running shoes are the best you can buy. They may not have all of the perks of some parkour-specific shoes, but they are easy to replace.

@84AbbotsPK And thanks to parkour shoe replacement happens a lot

i use the five ten free runners and i LOVE them. it feels like your walking on air. is so cool. and like you said the grip is rediculously good. i have gotton a 5 step wall run in them but i dont count it cause my fifth step slipped a bit.

Get them !!!

so the vibram five finger shoe is the best parkour shoes could tell me more about them. im going to buy them
monkfish946 1 year ago
@monkfish946 yeah the best thing about them is they let your toes be free, like they should!!! as well with having little padding and strengthen your feet.....(sorry for the bad spelling im tired hit me up for more questions)

been barefoot running for about two months, got the bikilas about two weeks ago. got past the pinky toe fatigue, calves about done conditioning. Loving the bikilas. the pads will slip off? I'll mos def be careful. Thanks for the awesome interview man.

bmj2468 1 year ago
@bmj2468 any nike darts should work i hear or be barefoot or find a ver cheap RUNNING SHOE never skate shoe ect.
blue2kid3 1 year ago
