  • How much is this guitar worth?

  • that sounds like Biffy Clyro's Joy.Discovery.Invention..thats awesome

  • could i plug this into a normal guitar amp without blowing it to pieces?

  • @CCRockit no problem, i play mine tuned B to b through a tube guitar amp (jcm900) for years without any problems

  • @eupatt

    Okay, thanks. :)

mines a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 Solid State...i was skeptical about it being a solid state, but i actually couldn't ask more from it.

  • would you like to sell me your Jaguar baritone custom

  • @100slackerman1 no, sorry ;)

  • Biffy Clyro on a baritone ? Kinda weird :P

  • omg want this guitar so bad lmfao fucking sweet

  • can I put fender bass VI strings on a les paul?

  • @KedmenecMartin

...can you put tracks on a Ford Pinto? Can you put Conan the Barbarian on a donkey? Or can you put an iceberg in your coke? Sure. Same as putting a longbowstring on a fiddle...

  • @PollyX5

    hahah,okay,tnx for that...

...I already gave up with that idea :D

  • @PollyX5 Hhahahaha my goodness that's too funny. ahahaa

  • how much did u pay 4 this... i might want 1 4 xmas

  • Joy.Discovery.Invention

    'Mon the biffy!!! XD

  • i got one of these for sale if anyone is interested

  • My friend's interested, how do you want to proceed?

  • how much?

  • WOOOOOOOW

    AMAZING

  • The performer cool amp

  • I thought you could only get those things in black, without the extra switches as well. Maybe thats just these days : (

  • that's the humbucker model, which is also currently the only commercially available model from fender. they use to have that commercially available, but now you have to custom order it :P

  • Right... And is the Fender Custom shop avaliable from Australia.

  • it's available from pretty much every country that isn't a third world country so i'd assume it is :P it would take forever to get to you: in america it takes a long time so i australia it might be a few weeks. But fender custom guitars are expensive, they can get as expensive as a custom les paul soemtimes. :C

  • mon the biffy lol, XD

    i want a baritone soooo bad :(

  • nice Biffy riff

  • cool riff

  • need more tone

  • That thing is crazy Kobainy cool.

  • PAAAAAAAAAASSSSS AWAY! I HOPE YOU DON"T MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND! Haha, that was quite a nice unexpected treat. Thank you!

  • Can anyone tell me what the difference between a baritone and regular six string guitar is besides the baritone being tuned lower.

  • the scale is longer

    so it sounds deeper

  • how much deeper? like a bass guitar?

  • not as much as a bass guitar, it sounds more like a guitar than a bass if you had to label it

  • Comment removed

  • It has longer fret scale, different strings, much deeper sound and such, it's pretty much used for metal and that kinda stuff, kinda alternate.

  • It's not used for metal.

  • Some bands uses it for metal though, like metal/alternate rock.

  • i know the cure used it and theyre alt rock. some art rock bands have used them. but ive never heard a metal band use one :P can you tell me one that uses a baritone? it sounds like itd be interesting

  • I think SOAD uses one sometimes, for example in Aerials, or at least, that's what I've heard.

  • daron malakian used to have various ibanez iceman guitars, one of them was a baritone version. now he plays standard SG afaik, and sounds like crap imao.

btw, soad has more in common with (hardcore) punk-rock, than metal...

  • I would still call SOAD a Nu-Metal band though.

  • yeah, they're totally like limp bizkit, POD, korn and rest of that stuff at all. LOL

  • Thanks for the sarcasm, but I would still call them that.

  • @Sylkis89

...and more still in common with pure shit.

  • @itallicknot the scale is much longer and its tuned half an octave down to B

  • If you put a nut on a regular guitar, could you just put baritone strings on? Or vice versa? Even if it didn't sound as good...

  • I've been reading about these guitars, fender jaguar baritone, I don't get what the tunings about, can you not have this guitar in normal tuning e to e. or would it sound crap.

  • youd need thinner strings, and then youd need to get it all set up again and everything...i dont know..but mabye there are different pickups aswell to go with the deeper sound?

  • oh right aha, cheers.

  • hi anyone want to chat

seen it yesterday! lets chat 2B

  • d'addario baritone guitar strings

    XL157

    .014 .018 .026 .044 .056 .068

    tuned B to b

  • @eupatt Could I tune those strings to Eb? I play 13's and they're pretty weak right now, I want something thicker than that but still in Eb.

  • @milodaman2 why would you use a barritone for Eb i would tell you to you a regular 22 fret scale guitar because i use a PRS barritone nd the tuners would get tight at Drop C

  • Nice playing! I have one of these Jag baritone's as well. What strings do you have on this?

  • OMG IF THAT THING HAD A VIBRATO BAR I WOULD SUCK A DIRTY LEPER'S DICK TO OWN ONE. not really, that's fucking sick. But I would pay a good price.

    How much was it??

  • then try BassVI it has trem

  • the fender VI has a trem and a 30.3" scale

the jag baritone has a 28.5" scale and a stop bar + TOM

even if it sounds near, it's diferent

  • it sounds alright...im just wondering if it keeps in tune proper. And how the trem. sounds. I guess i'll buy a cheap one and find out for myself lol.

    thx

  • haha thx

  • Can't you string these like a Bass VI?

  • yes

they come from factory with Bass VI strings

but to use it more in a guitar way, I strung it with lighter gauge and tuned it B to b.

  • So baritone guitars and the Bass VI is the same? is it plays like a Bass VI? Six xtring bass and Bass VI is the same???

  • isnt a 6 string bass tuned eadgbe but an octave lower than a normal guitar?

  • no, it's b e a d g c, so it would be an octave lower than a baritone guitar, i.e. an octave and a 4th lower than a normal guitar + a c instead of a b at the top string to keep the 4th between the strings constant (as one minor 4th serves for playing chords, but not for playing lines)

  • ahh, thanks alot! id love to try one!

  • you can actually get strings to tune its like an octave lower guitar though but youd lose the extra low b-string lol

  • it is a 6 string bass, tuned like a guitar but an octave lower. The EADG strings are exactly the same as on a 4 string bass. Jack Bruce used one the first two Cream albums (Fender Bass VI on the first one and Danelectro bass VI on the second). >_>

  • can u slap a baritone

  • Only if its been bad.

  • Naughty-naugthy, baritone!!

  • hahah

  • you want to see a real baritone come check mine out ALL handmade soma guitars

  • i think you could also have played some of the low tones...?

  • where can you get one of these?

  • are you intrested in buying one

  • i've never played one, so i'd prefer to play it first, but if i do like it, then maybe eventually purchase one.

  • Hey I'm pretty interested in buying one of these. Do you know if Guitar Center's usually have them in stock?

  • musicians friend.

  • yea they usually do.. 1500 bucks though.

  • i am

  • The Fender Jaguar has 4 different scale length:

24" 27" (the HH guitar) 28.5" (the custom baritone) AND 30" (the bass IV) Long neck+ fat strings gives you a low tone.

Thanks for posting .. I want one

  • Liking the riff. Blackened Sky.

Do you find you have much use for the Baritone really though? I've been thinking of getting one but I'm a bit woried it'd end up sitting in its case, never being played.

    Mon The Biffy.

  • Apologies - Joy.Discovery.Invention.

    I always forget that...

  • I don't use it as much as a guitar

but it's very fun to play, and just sounds amazing with a lot of overdrive

my band is just the drummer and me, so the baritone allow us to have a thick sound.

  • can you tell me what songs feature a baritone guitar on them.

  • You can listen to The Gossip

most of their songs are played with a baritone

"yr mangled heart" is a good example

  • A lot of songs by the Cure also use Baritone Guitars

  • Robert Smith was using a Fender VI

it has a longer scale than the baritone (30" vs 28.5")

    but it sounds close.

  • how is it tuned?

  • it's tuned B to b

with a 28"5 scale, between the HH (27"), and the VI (30").

  • whats the scale length?

  • like 27 inches.I know its bigger than strat scale.I perfer the 24 myself.

  • sweet i could probably tune my bc rich B-B

    thanks for the reply

  • 28.5 inches.

  • Ok how is it tuned, how does it feel, and like is it reliable and stuff...?

  • it's probably tuned to standard baritone tuning (BEADF#B) or ADGCEA. i think it's B though. it looks like a decent guitar.

  • BIFFY FUCKING CLYRO!!

well done man ,good sound ,good song!!

  • love the sound on those. I bought one for the extra scale length and tuned it to E though since im actually a bass player

  • wait you bought the black fender jaguar baritone special hh? if you did does it sound like a bass when you drop the tuning to e or what?
