Indian officials could do this for some of the reasons:
1) Indian has helped tibetans since 1959, but its relationship with Beijing has been improved significantly in recent years;
2) It may think the tibetans have peacefully 'occupied' part of India for 60 years. They don't want to see any more temple to be built.
3) India wants to show the world it like the money more than Buddhism.
The only question left is what's local law. In usa, donation to church is tax-free.

hey compassionate girl....in buddhism it is told that if there are words against buddhist lama or sangyas...we should not give response because we know that H.H The 17th Karmapa isnot guilty........n we belive in him in an ultimate way.....the world will not understand this because they cannot come out of their ignorence.......so thats why there no use of telling them......n truth is always victorious.....plz be compassionate like ua name.....may peace previal on earth...

@compassionategal1 it's apparently ILLEGAL for tibetans to purchase land in India. So even if the charges about being a chinese spy is proven false, he still has to deal with the charges regarding trying to buy land. SAD!

karmapa is our god n will be our highest lama ever n forever.this baseless lies cant get into our heart.i was born and brought up in india,,and i know the truth,,that how you indians used to treat us tibetan.you indian are full of jealous.you indians ad burnt lots of tibetan business out of jealousy.i feel pity on you.
