First of all, the kid saw the dad go to another place while he goes into op (his dad prays all the time on the book - to figure he was praying while he was operating isn't a very wild guess; as for his mum, when he sees her, she has a phone in her hands - that's not a wild guess either). @sidneycook I just finished reading the book. I was very uninpressed because there isn't any supernatural information that can't be accounted by natural phenomena. First of all, the kid saw the dad go to another place while he goes into op (his dad prays all the time on the book - to figure he was praying while he was operating isn't a very wild guess; as for his mum, when he sees her, she has a phone in her hands - that's not a wild guess either). The book is FILLED with these.

@oliviap679 I believe it's a story created by the parents personally. The boy probably mentioned something vague that made the parents develop a story for him. At 4 years old, he probably mentioned "I saw a man, he talked about fishing with you." The father then took this and said, "My grandfather took me fishing all the time! You must have seen him!" He points to a photo of him and the boy nods because he is a child and unsure of what he exactly saw. But like I said, that's just what I think.
