  • A truly excellent example. Let's hope the engine is OK after the recent floods.

  • @follytowers thank you our area is not affected by the floods! hence the engine is safe.

  • you have done a great job. i really miss the sound and smell of this engine. Thanks

  • Fantastic, nice engine and great to see it still working for a living.

I will be getting my own Ruston and Hornsby in a couple of days time.

  • good video of the engine working - I have a 6HR which is being installed in a museum. Who did the restoration on your engine? and what was done? I notice that you have a "donkey engine" to start it. Did you install the engine yourselves on the block?

  • Our family also has a 6HR. Never restored, been in working condition since it was built in the 1930's. Anyone know where to get a manual for one?

  • Here in Pakistan, there are still hundreds on the rustons being used. They are referred as Kala (black) engine. I can send u a manual if u want to

  • It turns out we have a 6XHR, an uprated version of the 6HR. I was able to get a manual from Ray Hooley in England. Thanks for offering to send one.

  • My pleasure :) Send me pics of your engine if you have worked on it and make it running.. I'll be very delighted
