Your comment is understood, your opinion is valid. To me, in this context (of the competition) they are modeling lingerie, bathing suits, dresses, gowns, other things and it's all done in good taste. Either way, there's a big cultural difference between Mexican Natives & American Natives.

I think all of the contestants were great. All of them had the courage to step forward and show people that they were'nt just representing their beauty but there cultural background. I agree with what northernstyles posted. The "face" of the North American Indigenous person is changing, but that doesnt make us any less or any more Native then the next person. As a people we didnt define ourselves based off of blood quantum.

Our people today are the same as any other race, when it comes to such issues. You dont see anybody calling mixed blood celebs like Obama or Halle Berry less black then say Wesley Snipes or Oprah.

To clarify...SOME Mexicans have native blood. Likewise SOME native's have Mexican blood. Especially in the South West. I hate hearing ppl say Mexicans are natives. Assuming a Mexican is a native is as ridiculous as assuming a Puerto Rican or Dominican is Taino. The fact is, some ppl may have "native bloodlines" while most do not. Either way, the cultural aspect is what's most important. All this racial nonsense is ridiculous to begin with.
