@swiv2d Eh? The CPU is placed into the socket built into the motherboard. The cooler then clamps over it and delivers its cooling properties. It's not a 'bay'.
@HippehMac I know that smartass. I'm just asking if it's possible to run a home computer like that with exposed circuits if it's possible to buy or build your own?
@swiv2d I'm not trying to be a 'smartass', i'm trying to understand what you're trying to get at, because you weren't making it all that easy, and i'm trying to help.
The cooling tower is a Noctua NH-D14, available for purchase in most countries. Is that better for you, sir?
ideally I'd want an i7,quad sli motherboard with 4 GTX590 and 32gb ram,the way game engines advance I'd be good for gaming for at least the next few months
@bloodsling - If people are smart when they do a new build they can set themselves up for nicely for at least 3-4 years without having to upgrade anything but the graphics card by either getting a new one or simply adding another one in sli or crossfire. If you start with a well thought out motherboard, power supply, case, drives etc..upgrades are minimal to sustain top end performance.
Hi mate, I've got a boot up problem with my GIGABYTE GTX 570 SOC , I tried to start up my new computer today, but it didn't show anything, I'm using a Gigabyte 990 FXA-UD3 Motherboard, with a dual BIOS, this card got two power connections, one is 8 pins and the other is 6 pins, I paid £300 for it but it didn't come with a manual to explain all about the installation, could anyone help me please, many thanks.
Hey, I've just bought an Asus 570 DCUII a few days ago and overclocked it to 870 on the core and 2002 on the RAM. Do you reckon my 3dmark Vantage and 3dmark11 P scores are allright with a set like that?: i5 2500k @ 4,5Ghz, the mentioned GTX 570, 6GB Kingston RAM 1333 @ 9-9-9-24, ASUS P8P67-M Pro Mobo. Vantage Score 24090 with an GPU score of 24134. 3dmark11 P score: 5679.

@LulTomIsL33T yes you will have no problem with this card and those specs i played the alpha with this card and an i5-2500k 4.5ghz 8 gb ram, and i maxed everything with between 50-75 fps

hey tom, i was wondering whats better for gamin the i5 2500k or the 1100t. there both about the same price and should i get two 560 in sli or two 6870 crossfire whats the bang for my buck?
Hey Tom, I need some of your wisdom again. Please advise me Tom; Should I get the GTX 580 or 2 GTX 570's in SLI or 2 Radeon HD 6970 in CrossfireX or what? I want the both the best performance and profitability. Thanks a lot Tom, you saved my life many times so do it ones again. And yeah I also want to ask you about the WD VelociRaptors are they that fast in RAID 0 (2x600GB) or should I get an OCZ 60GB Vertex 2 and a 2TB WD Caviar Black or 2x1TB Caviar Black's in RAID 0?
@TimeToLiveCustoms I have a AMD Athlon(tm) II X240 Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz. Memory: 5120MB RAM and hard disk drive is 600GB do you think i can play with a evga gtx 570
@TheEDZKIEZ Two overclocked GTX 570s in SLI can run anything, and I do mean anything, with at least 30 fps, and that's at the highest possible resolution with 3D enabled and x32 AA.
Hi, what is the cpu and motherboard you're using? because i am wondering, why am I getting 5236 marks although I have the same card? here are my specs and settings, all running stock: cooler master v6gt cpu cooler I7 930 stock Asus sabertooth x58 6g munshkin running @ 1600mhz (xmp profile) 79724 latency msi 570gtx antec true new power 750ww psu wd caviar black 1 tb nvidia driver 266.58 windows 7 64bit would appreciate your opninions on that matter! thanks K.Z. from montreal
@krisakias, let me give u a tip, make sure you get a good quality PSU, 600w+ I bought this card and my pc would startup and 30 seconds later it would shut down, u need a good psu to handle the power of the card itself.
Hi I'm currently building a PC with an Intel i5 2500k and Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard. I want to buy a GTX570 and add another one later down the track for SLI. Will the 8x configuration bottleneck?
@KiillWiithMe yes actually it doesnt matter how many watt is your psu, the important thing is how many ampere you have on your 12v rail, plus a guy replied my message back then saying that this card can run even with only 400psu
@KiillWiithMe I asked everyone and they said its powerful enough, even enough to overclock, especially since i have corsair psu which is quite overkill. And actually i bought this card already for about 1 month, overclocked it, and my machine still run super fast without no problem
I can get a GTX 570 for bout £280... for an extra £60 I i can get 2x 6870's. This may sound a silly question but which is the better option? I have a Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 700W so my other question is will this PSU handle crossfired 6870's?
@edgey642 For me depends on how you like Nvidia too ATI, the drivers are different to use, and the big question really from my experiance and alot of people who have reviewed ATI cards is the drivers are really bad!!! Not going all Nvidia on you but you might get lucky and have a trouble free card, from experiance Nvidia has the better cards and drivers!!! Crossfire 6870 is not as good as SLI 570, but the price is alot more for not much more. Think an 800-900w PSU is needed for crossfire 6870!
hi, i just bought this card a couple days ago, gonna have it either tomorrow or the day after. Do u think i have enough psu? I have 550w psu from corsair and the processor is i5-750
hey time..just wanted to ask you..i have a psu 550 watter..and as i saw on the system requierments for this card is exactly 550 Watts..do you think that i should change psu..and if yes how many watts should i get? thanks in advance great video
@krisakias depends on the rest of your rig tbh dude. Need to make sure you get a quality PSU what ever happenes. Corsair, Enermax, NZXT, or Coolermaster at a push.
@mikeinbc Im no fanboy dude, I slated the 400 series (all bar the 460)
The 570 really is better than the 6970 fella. Ive had red cards since the 4000's but the 6000 series just dont cut it as high as they should have. AMD rushed these and it shows. Just like Nvidia rushed the 400's.
@mikeinbc - The 6000 series is the perfect example of this industry constantly pissing in our face . . . 5000's are better than 6000s and cost less wtf?
You mean to tell me they can't make a GPU that can play all games at high settings for the next 5 years?
How do console manufacturers keep their systems alive for 7 to 10 years for a fraction of the cost of a pc these days? It's called perceived/planned obsolescence, and You're getting fucked . . . enjoy
@antonyr123 well, gtx 460 supports 2-way sli only...i got gtx 460 SLI 1gb 825/1650/2000 and im getting P6000 in 3dmark11..all games run perfectly smooth...its a cheap solution for AMAZING performance that runs all games max settings and doesnt cost that much..not to mention you wont have to upgrade for a couple of years..then again, if you SLI 570- thats even better
I've heard it's slightly better, but for being a little bit more, I believe it's much more worth it to purchase the 570 and sli them in the future, or even now if you got the money. You see the 400 series is getting a bit dated and if you are now just deciding to purchase a gpu I would definitely go with the gtx 570 due to its potential further down the road.
i was wondering for how graphic cards go, for adobe master collection it says for gpu acceleration to use a gtx 285 or gtx 470, and i was wondering whats the difference in them and which would be better to be used for gaming if i use them in sli or w/e
@madebarriere thank you, yah after looking around on the internet on almost every site i couldnt find any gtx 285s so i was basicly forced to the gtx 470 :)
would u know if there is a difference in the performance of the evga superclocked and the gigabyte super overclocked models from the others, no one says anything about them but to just "buy the cheeper model and overclock it yourself"
@dzman1024 Hello, well, there is some diference, but its very small, not worth the extra money. The only benefit from getting a PRE overclocked card is that (In most cases) you keep your warranty. but, as everyone said, get the cheapest one, overclockit yourself, and be happy hope this helps.
@TimeToLiveCustoms Thank you! I Just wanted to compare your setup to what mine would be if I bought acard. What would the 1100T AMD compare to with Intel? I am currently using an ASUS M4A78T-E Mobo and don't want to switch to Intel as it would be too costly for me atm. I just want to know what the 1100T compares to as this will be my next processer.
PS: Is that motherboard outdated? would it be worth it to upgrade the mobo? or am I fine to keep it for another year etc.
I run 3dmark 11 and I get like 10fps on the jungle graphics, and like 3-10 fps on all the physics stuff.. Im running an Athlon II x4 630 2.8 oced to 3.4, HIS58701gb, 4gb g.skill 1600 DDR3 Am I already outdated?? wtf?? I can't decide whether to go with AMDs 69xx series or switch back to Nvidia. If I buy an nvidia card can I SLI it on my current AMD motherboard? or do I need an Intel based sli mobo?
3dMark11 is built to last at least for 5 years, that means all hardware now is already outdated. Not rly outdated but in a Single GPU performance it wont be enough to run the benchmark smooth.
Especially when u have a Crap ATI 5870. not that it is bad, but were U rly expecting that U would run 3Dmark 11 on 30 Fps and higher?
Not to mention that ur CPU is also not powerful enough.
@SynodCenturion the 5870 is a really nice card but is starting to get bogged already in today's games.. It doesn't seem to handle anything over 4x AA very well (playability) I guess thats nothing to complain about though.. my cpu i figured would be somewhat of a bottleneck I want to get the 1100t but I also wanna go Intel but that means whole new overhaul.. and that is expensive.
PS: Im runnin an antec trupower 600W or 650 I cant remember atm but is that good to run a gtx580 and 1100T OCED.
4x AA at resolutions of 1920x1080 is not rly necessary, since it will render each frame 4 times to fill in all edges.
A whole new overhaul is not needed since the AMD 1100t is also a decent processor. Recommended speed above 3.6Ghz to make it more effective. 4.0Ghz + is not recommended on 600W supply together with an GTX 580 which will make the system unstable.
Shutdown or bad 3d performance will be one of the aspects. Try buying a higher power supply.
@SynodCenturion Ohh.. So playing at 1920x1080 4xAA isn't as much needed as if you were playing on lower resolutions?
About the PSU. After an overclock to 3.4ghz on my CPU (actually around 3.37) with a voltage of 1.40000 running with my 5870 I seem to get game crashes or freezes.. I was playing Prototype the other day and after about a half hour of playing my game just flat-out crashed. Then playing call of duty black ops I get a random freeze for like 20 seconds then it comes back..nextcomment
@Stingray7667 So it freezes for about 20 sec.. Is this because I am overloading the power supply?? The screen also goes like gray or white.. Both the CPU and GPU run at good temps under load and off load (as far as I know). The GPU runs at about 30 C off, and 50-60 C loaded. The CPU runs about 33C off, 54-60 load.
I know this could be getting dangerous as the MAX temp for the CPU is 71 but I still have a bit to go before I burn the chip right?
@SynodCenturion Sorry for all the huge replies but also, how big of power supply would you recommend for that new setup? the 1100T, 580 etc.. I Probably will NOT be SLI'ing considering its like a $520 card... actually I can't anyways because of my mobo. Would a 800 be sufficient?
@SynodCenturion Hey, update! Thanks for the help btw. I am running an amd 1090T with 2 6970's in X-fire with an Antec 850w power supply running smooth as hell!
this and the asus are the only nice looking ones.... i hope next series will have displayport. will be intersting to see if the 560 if its made is vaper chamber
Do you think that if I had this, along with a 2600k i7, that I could run 2 monitors, one at 1620x1080, and one at 1600x900, while being able to max out most modern games at a reasonable framerate, or is that an unrealistic expectation?

@TheEDZKIEZ Id deffo get an SSD if you want speed. and the smart choice above would be 570's

@TheEDZKIEZ Two overclocked GTX 570s in SLI can run anything, and I do mean anything, with at least 30 fps, and that's at the highest possible resolution with 3D enabled and x32 AA.

Thanks
MikeNvS 11 months ago
@MikeNvS You will not see double the performance, more like 30-70% depending on the game. It's still absolutely worth it.
UnknownXV 9 months ago
@KiillWiithMe yes actually it doesnt matter how many watt is your psu, the important thing is how many ampere you have on your 12v rail, plus a guy replied my message back then saying that this card can run even with only 400psu
bogellenong 1 year ago
@KiillWiithMe thanks for the replied though
bogellenong 1 year ago
@KiillWiithMe I asked everyone and they said its powerful enough, even enough to overclock, especially since i have corsair psu which is quite overkill. And actually i bought this card already for about 1 month, overclocked it, and my machine still run super fast without no problem
bogellenong 1 year ago
I can get a GTX 570 for bout £280... for an extra £60 I i can get 2x 6870's. This may sound a silly question but which is the better option? I have a Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 700W so my other question is will this PSU handle crossfired 6870's?
Cheers
edgey642 1 year ago
@edgey642 For me depends on how you like Nvidia too ATI, the drivers are different to use, and the big question really from my experiance and alot of people who have reviewed ATI cards is the drivers are really bad!!! Not going all Nvidia on you but you might get lucky and have a trouble free card, from experiance Nvidia has the better cards and drivers!!! Crossfire 6870 is not as good as SLI 570, but the price is alot more for not much more. Think an 800-900w PSU is needed for crossfire 6870!
sw1000xg 11 months ago
hi, i just bought this card a couple days ago, gonna have it either tomorrow or the day after. Do u think i have enough psu? I have 550w psu from corsair and the processor is i5-750
bogellenong 1 year ago
hey time..just wanted to ask you..i have a psu 550 watter..and as i saw on the system requierments for this card is exactly 550 Watts..do you think that i should change psu..and if yes how many watts should i get? thanks in advance great video

@krisakias depends on the rest of your rig tbh dude. Need to make sure you get a quality PSU what ever happenes. Corsair, Enermax, NZXT, or Coolermaster at a push.

mikeinbc 1 year ago

Destroysall 1 year ago
@Destroysall
I've heard it's slightly better, but for being a little bit more, I believe it's much more worth it to purchase the 570 and sli them in the future, or even now if you got the money. You see the 400 series is getting a bit dated and if you are now just deciding to purchase a gpu I would definitely go with the gtx 570 due to its potential further down the road.

i was wondering for how graphic cards go, for adobe master collection it says for gpu acceleration to use a gtx 285 or gtx 470, and i was wondering whats the difference in them and which would be better to be used for gaming if i use them in sli or w/e
dzman1024 1 year ago
@dzman1024 More cuda cores is better not onlu for GPU acceleration, but for gaming too.
The 470 has more, so, go with it.
Hope this helps =D
madebarriere 1 year ago
@madebarriere thank you, yah after looking around on the internet on almost every site i couldnt find any gtx 285s so i was basicly forced to the gtx 470 :)
would u know if there is a difference in the performance of the evga superclocked and the gigabyte super overclocked models from the others, no one says anything about them but to just "buy the cheeper model and overclock it yourself"
dzman1024 1 year ago

Stingray7667 1 year ago
@Stingray7667
SynodCenturion 1 year ago
@SynodCenturion the 5870 is a really nice card but is starting to get bogged already in today's games.. It doesn't seem to handle anything over 4x AA very well (playability) I guess thats nothing to complain about though.. my cpu i figured would be somewhat of a bottleneck I want to get the 1100t but I also wanna go Intel but that means whole new overhaul.. and that is expensive.
PS: Im runnin an antec trupower 600W or 650 I cant remember atm but is that good to run a gtx580 and 1100T OCED.
Stingray7667 1 year ago
@Stingray7667
SynodCenturion 1 year ago
@SynodCenturion Ohh.. So playing at 1920x1080 4xAA isn't as much needed as if you were playing on lower resolutions?
About the PSU. After an overclock to 3.4ghz on my CPU (actually around 3.37) with a voltage of 1.40000 running with my 5870 I seem to get game crashes or freezes.. I was playing Prototype the other day and after about a half hour of playing my game just flat-out crashed. Then playing call of duty black ops I get a random freeze for like 20 seconds then it comes back..nextcomment
Stingray7667 1 year ago
@Stingray7667 So it freezes for about 20 sec.. Is this because I am overloading the power supply?? The screen also goes like gray or white.. Both the CPU and GPU run at good temps under load and off load (as far as I know). The GPU runs at about 30 C off, and 50-60 C loaded. The CPU runs about 33C off, 54-60 load.
I know this could be getting dangerous as the MAX temp for the CPU is 71 but I still have a bit to go before I burn the chip right?
Stingray7667 1 year ago
@SynodCenturion Sorry for all the huge replies but also, how big of power supply would you recommend for that new setup? the 1100T, 580 etc.. I Probably will NOT be SLI'ing considering its like a $520 card... actually I can't anyways because of my mobo. Would a 800 be sufficient?
Stingray7667 1 year ago
@Stingray7667
Ow that's ok, u may ask anything u want regarding Pc's.
About the Power Supply, having more power than needed is always a good thing since the Cooling fan of the PSU will run very silent.
When having 400 watts of power and 400 is needed u will see that the PSU will get very hot, and that comes with a High RPM and lot of noise.
When u have 800 Watts and only 450 is needed u wont hear your PSU and all ur systems are running Safe, and No overloading on the PSU.
800Watt is fine
