The tattoos in this video are extreme (on the animals) but branding and tattooing animals is not an uncommon practice. Many horses, dogs and miscellaneous livestock are tattooed in the inner lip as their identification. It apparently is more humane then hot or freeze branding the animal, and often more reliable then micro chipping and ear tags. but to that extent.. thats just f-ed up.
