this game had great combat and great stiory line i just think that when another awesome game like bioshock 1 comes before a game like this its very hard to live up to and the people that have reviewed this game and gave it a crappy rateing cant lowwer their knit picky defences and say that bioshock 2 was a great game.
I preferred the 2nd one myself as i felt it had a more balanced combat style , while the 1st one was a little slower ( again this is my opinion ) . I loved the drill and when you gained to charge ability it became holy shit awesome. The game also had better dynamic range in the sound and ran a little smoother than the first one. ( again my opinion ) but ign can be way off sometimes and they shouldnt have people who didnt care for the first game review or give a opinion about the 2nd.

And how "annoyed" he is with the things that his "perfect" vision of a city has created. i only recently played bioshock 1 and i dont feel like playing bioshock 2 because some of the big new ideas in that game arent new at all. (spoilers) at the end of 1, you do play as a big daddy, and you have to protect a little sister.... and it was annoying. im sure they made it better in 2. but still.
This is why we are losing wonderful and complex storylines for action action action. Because all the time and effort we put into a nice story and intriguing cutscenes and deep thinking is mocked because it's boring :(

I also wished that the game allows you to like play the single player mode again with all your upgrades and shit just to so you can have less responsibility and explore Rapture a bit more. God who shoved dildo up their asses? This review was so unfair in many ways, for one they kept comparing everything to the first game, they just kept nitpicking about everything. The thing that annoyed me most was that they kept saying how Rapture was old and boring, but Rapture is almost completly different then the first game, they obviously rushed through the game without once ever deciding to admire the talent that went in to building the levels, not to mention you get brand new locations.
i liked the story of bioshock 1 so much more than the story of BS2. That's not saying the the story of BS2 is bad but the first blows it away. Why cant they just rate this game as a standolone game and not a sequel? seriously ive never seen a sequel that has been better than the first. Everyone seems to be so critical about these games. I really enjoy Bioshock 2 (more than the original) and think Rapture is so intriguing. I think there is more re-playability on the second game and wouldn't mind seeing the third Bio take place in Rapture once more!

this game waz far to short and easy i only used the gattling and rivet gun the whole way through, dont get me wrong i realy enjoyed it but it got so repetative and near the end felt like they ran out of ideas so just kept throwing millions of enemys at you :-(

yes bioshock 2 improves on gameplay, for instance plasmids are not very effective agasint big daddys in bioshock one limiting any stratigies you may come up with. That is just one example the fact they made big daddies and sisters more susceptible to plamids.
I agree. the last one was about imersion, not actually about gameplay. Sure the plasmids were fun, but, without the whole "rapture" concept, they game would simply be a failure.

I think that it's pretty impossible not to. When a sequel comes out, you HAVE to look at its predecessor in order to analyse what the sequel has changed or improved upon.
In the time between 1 & 2 someone setup a gun factory in Rapture coz thats my on explanation where all the leadhead splicers with Tommy guns came from. 1 felt like a survival horror game 2 is not even close to being as good. From start to finish I went never having to worry about running out of ammo which made the iconic weapons of the big daddy pointless
you can play just drill and plasmids but there is little point to doing so. You only need 1 plasmid frost the others are just filler. My main complaint was that I did not feel like a big daddy their was no feeling of me wearing a spun brass diving suit I ran a round like a ballerina in a tutu with no feeling of the weight on my back until I hit a underwater section where apparently jumping is impossible,
There was something about the first that was better, BIOSHOCK 2 was good, but no where near as the first.

My review , im going to admit it right now it is really not my kind of game the gameplay itself is okay but for a game that allow you to burn ur ennemy freeze them ,,throw them a swarm of bees...i mean it could have been much better during all the game you are in a shity ambiance where everything is broken water everywhere on the floor...i mean personaly i hate it but 8.5/10 because i know some ppl might enjoy it alot

Why cant they just rate this game as a standolone game and not a sequel? seriously ive never seen a sequel that has been better than the first. That is due to the fact that ITS HARD TO MAKE AN ORIGNAL GAME THAT IS A SEQUEL. Although i have seen some game developers due so such as bioware with mass effect

these guys are kinda right. i mean, in the first bioshock they focused on being creepy while in the second one they focused more on a sense of danger. they're just upset cause they're not into seeing a more dangerous side of rapture or in any case more of it. unfortunately most gamers feel like they need completely new content to be satisfied.

Everyone seems to be so critical about these games. I really enjoy Bioshock 2 (more than the original) and think Rapture is so intriguing. I think there is more re-playability on the second game and wouldn't mind seeing the third Bio take place in Rapture once more!

after i killed andrew ryan, i just stopeed playing, becuase from then it, IT WAS SO BOARING!! Then i just stopped playing, because i completly lost inrest. The only reason i got it was becuase it got like, 9.6/10 from so many game site, and when i played bioshock, it was a HUGE disspoiment

How come Bioshock is the only game that gets picked on for having the same setting? Isn't that argument somewhat flawed? How come there were never any "I got the new GTA and it was in a big open city, but you know, I had seen that before, so it didn't have the same affect..." esc. reviews? I understand that the setting was one of the reasons that made Bioshock so great, but it isn't exactly fair to criticize it so much for returning to the place players so vibrantly showed affection for.

these so called "professional reviewers" have no idea what they are talking about they are just bashing Bioshock 2 just because it takes place in rapture again but if they were really smart they'd notice how different rapture looks ten years later,they would have noticed the plant life growing inside rapture and how messed up it looks. seriously you can't call a sequel bad just because it takes place in the same setting again,that's bullshit.your supposed to review a game on playability

this game waz far to short and easy i only used the gattling and rivet gun the whole way through, dont get me wrong i realy enjoyed it but it got so repetative and near the end felt like they ran out of ideas so just kept throwing millions of enemys at you :-(

yes bioshock 2 improves on gameplay, for instance plasmids are not very effective agasint big daddys in bioshock one limiting any stratigies you may come up with. That is just one example the fact they made big daddies and sisters more susceptible to plamids.

I agree. the last one was about imersion, not actually about gameplay. Sure the plasmids were fun, but, without the whole "rapture" concept, they game would simply be a failure.

In the time between 1 & 2 someone setup a gun factory in Rapture coz thats my on explanation where all the leadhead splicers with Tommy guns came from. 1 felt like a survival horror game 2 is not even close to being as good. From start to finish I went never having to worry about running out of ammo which made the iconic weapons of the big daddy pointless

you can play just drill and plasmids but there is little point to doing so. You only need 1 plasmid frost the others are just filler. My main complaint was that I did not feel like a big daddy their was no feeling of me wearing a spun brass diving suit I ran a round like a ballerina in a tutu with no feeling of the weight on my back until I hit a underwater section where apparently jumping is impossible,
