  • Wow, you surprised me dude!!!, maybe you're not going to believe me but until today, I had not seen on youtube someone who likes Ivanhoe, Andy B. Franck's previous band (now he's in Brainstorm, and also on Symphorce, both are Power Metal bands from Germany).

  • I like Pathosray!!

  • Ivory tower song???? ppl

  • Keyboards are ruin it

  • Hey!! if you like prog check out our bands demo on our channel!+++comment and tell us what you think!!+++++

  • I had never considered DT prog metal because they have always been "lighter" than the average prog metal band, they´re more prog rock in my opinion. Queensryche, on the other hand, is quite the influential prog metal band.

  • @TheRealPolloPawer WTF are you talking about? Your comment would have been just about be current at the turn of the last decade. DT have been putting mucho metal into their awsome arrangements. Loving all the progressive metal im hearing on here but the best stuff is clearly influenced by DT and not the euro sounding stuff.

  • @TheRealPolloPawer

Have you heard Dream Theater at all in the last 9 years or so?

  • First Pathosray album is a killer!

  • Wow. That's some cheesy stuff. All these bands sound the same.

  • Seriously. If you like this, You'll LOVE 'Pain of Salvation'.

Oh my god. Saves pain to this stuff.

    Don't get me wrong. .. . this rocks! .. .. .. But......

  • the voice is too DT

  • god fucken wmg

  • wmg = penis

  • Hey man great taste in music I was just wondering how one goes about getting the really obscure stuff. Theres no problem finding dream theater and opeth but I can't even find the whole Extension Of The Wish album. Do you have a special way or what? hahah

  • @Milkman23 Yes my friend..... i use rapidshare, megaupload or mediafire i search for the albums in blogs using google

  • @Milkman23 if u still need it msg me

  • Hey man great taste in music I was just wondering how one goes about getting the really obscure stuff. Theres no problem finding dream theater and opeth but I can't even find the whole Extension Of The Wish album. Do you have a special way or what? hahah

  • FUCK WMG!

  • just upload again the vid

  • I know theres a way to get rid of this copyright crap... any help?

  • @adrian30020

I think if you file a complaint on the grounds of 'fair use' policy, and fill out the given fields, you may have some success. That's what I've heard at least.

  • @adrian30020 watch?v=l_8-1Go6kg0 has the solution,that or uploading your music in a 3% faster rate i think

  • Oh I can't fucking believe this. The WMG are really set to prevent people from discovering new bands so they can buy their music.

  • @moneymail002 WMG is simply shit...

  • That Ivanhoe song sounds EXACTLY like Dream Theater =p

  • whats the name of the tomorrows eve song?

  • Pathosray is fuckin' amazing.

  • symphony x - the odyssey

  • Tommorows Eves eye looks like the one on the train of thought album :)

.. well not really (actually not at all), but it would have been fun if the albums had a connection :)

  • It's more Power Prog Metal than Progressive Metal, I think. And where are Pain of Salvation, Shadow Gallery, and others?

  • what's the name of the Pathosray song?

  • Scent of Snow

  • @megadoomer543 scent of snow

  • I recommend Narnia.

  • Narnia isnt prog.... thas Neo-clasical

  • @adrian30020 neo-classical is a subgenre of progressive rock go to prog archives

  • Didn't really care for the first two... But Tomorrow's Eve was great, and Pathosray sounds god damn impressive. I'll check them out, thanks.

  • Wow, what's the name of the songs of each of the bands you listed here?

  • whats the ivory tower song?

  • Are any of you aware of To-mera? This band is quite extraordinary. Check'em out.

  • very true about there being much more prog metal than dream theater, some other interesting prog bands are circus maximus, andromeda, threshold, seventh wonder, and then there's serenity, riverside, and katatonia

    thanks for tha video!

  • Cant forget Symphony X, Vanden Plas, and more

  • alpiel91: that's what I thought when I first heard them, but once you get into them you'll see that they're really quite original and sound nothing like DT. Personally I'm extremely happy I decided checked them out, great great melodies and some of their lyrics mean a lot to me, up to you though :D

  • ok, i'll give them a try one more, but... can you tell me which songs are more creative or original, I mean, to get a better second "first impression"... lol, thanks anyway

  • creative and original... try Silence From the Angels above (the 1st chaper) or Wither (Isolate), if not then no worries

  • circus maximus is kinda depressing though its usually something sad or something not all of it but most I don't care for their lyrics but the music does have its times where it sounds like DT but they have their moments

  • I agree, except it doesn't sound like DT at all.

Circus maximus really needs to right some songs that don't have that god awful Melodramatic drone, Songs like Biosfear are kick arse.

  • There's definately a lot more prog metal than dream theater but surely they deserve to be included somewhere?

  • They are included, practically on every Prog Metal list that gets any recognition on youtube. Just search "Progressive Metal".

  • Ivory Tower's vocals are shit. Like Dream Theater's singer in the MAJESTY demo days.

  • I would say he sounds more like Michael Kiske of Helloween... Not near as good of course.

  • Ivanhoe's and Ivory Tower's vocals messed everything up for me. Tomorrow's Eve was WAY too predictable, but Pathorsay was okay on my book.

  • Which Tomorrow's Eve song?

  • Terrific music, keep posting, this is great.

  • I live near Pathosray guitarrist, they're italian!! I Know them...sorry for my english

  • Erm... your english was near perfect, dude. You even did "they're" correctly, which is more than many americans manage...

  • @Oracurax lol agreed im actually american and i dont

  • tomorrow's eve is great. can't wait till their new album. Nice compalation mait. glad to see that people know of this bands and are spreading the word. keep on rocking.

  • Ivanhoe sounds really awesome! But the rest is good too.

  • Thanks for putting this on, It's been a while but when make stuff this good, who cares eh?
