  • Me:Luka!I'm your biggest fan...

  • It's really good for now but yeah, i think you need to tune her voice a bit and make it smoother... luka has a wonderful voice... and she can definitely do better than this if her voice is handled right..

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKA! ^____^

  • omfg. that was so close to real one

  • omg words cannot describe how much i love her voice in this! even how she says paparazzi!! its soooooooooo aweshum!!!!!!!!!!!!! not even that, its better than aweshum!

  • Me likey

  • I dislike this. She sounds almost like she's squeaking low in her throat. *shakeshead* Im still her fan, I just dont like this version.

  • this is one of the best songs ive heard luka do in english!!!!! =D

  • Although I prefer this to the orignal, I still hate the song

  • Luka will always sing choppily, all vocaloid will, unless it's used correctley,

Honestly, i think they should have kept vocaloids japanese, they just dont sound right in english

  • luka was MADE to sing english :P but not these kind xD

    @mattysillyer

  • @magiclazma jajaj yeah XD

  • she sounds like she has a bad french accent and shes singing with a sore throat but still not bad .

  • Somehow I think the mech voice works so well with this song. How? I really don't but It's so great!!!!!!! Luka is awesome when she sings english. Miku is my fave but she can't sing english.

  • 236 dislike...

Luka:I'll follow you until you love me!

  • You guys do know there another one that's a tad bit clearer~ XD But I love it anyway~

  • finnaly i hear what it wouldve been like if it had been sung by a female singer

  • i love this!

  • Fact: Luka's voice and accent is amazing

    Fake: She sucks

Fact: 236 ppl are all idiots

Fake: 236 ppl watched the video and then clicked the dislike button

  • @studiolifesux14 hmm no, i disliked it simply becuase i dont like it, not becuase im an idiot

  • It doesnt really sound bad :) luka actually is quite good at English

  • It's amazing to have a bilingual vocaloid. Luka's more mature and defined voice is also outstanding when it comes to versatility in songs. This is an outstanding display of Luka's english voice pack. Please... for the sake of American fans who cannot understand Japanese... release more of these... I beg of you...

  • this is really cool! XD

  • Well, Luka is originally a Japanese vocaloid, so English is obviously not her strongest point xDD

  • @paopaopsalt Luka actually has an English voice bank.

  • Luka... Do you have a cold? xD

  • Me: OMIGOSH I LOVE YOU LUKA!!! *Fanboyspasm*

    Luka: We'd be so fan-testicle.

    Me: Okay too far. o_e

  • better pronounciation but i prefer miku over this o-O this sounds so choppy lol

  • Did anyone else get the feeling that the timing was a little off at some parts?

Still a great cover though. (^-^)

  • That sounds really good. I wish vocaloid would sing songs in English too.

  • i think that this sounds, WONDERFUL:)

    my opinion...

  • she sounds kinda french ^^

  • *claps hard untl breaks hands* AMAZING SO AMAZING!!

  • lets just all remind ourselves that this is a japaneise program and english cant always be sand with japaneise characters.... but i think she's pretty good

  • GLaDOS?

  • Comment removed

  • Lol... i love it when she says "still - have - funn"

  • It sounds great, but at the same time her voice kinda sounds rough, like she has a bad sore throat. Idk if that was a program issue or what. It doesn't really take away from the quality of the song, though.

  • @AnimeAki If you listen to when actual japanese people sing in english they have that little roughness as well because of their accent

  • @AnimeAki She -was- originally meant to have a more "husky" voice that was smoother and more mature. Probably couldnt be helped unless it was sung in a higher key ^^

  • @AnimeAki Might be because the song's using her Japanese database, I'm don't know much I just got into this.

  • i thought she sings spanish LOL

  • Wow.

What more can I say / type?

  • This is the reason why vocaloid beats any human singer any day

  • oooooooooh!! Sounds cool lol.

  • love it,keep making the anime songs!

  • she sounds good!

  • nghe cung duoc. ai noi khong hay

  • woooowwwwwwwww kawaiiiiiiiiiiii

  • man , I swear in some years , Vocaloids will completely beat humans at singing

  • @djay00009 loll but vocaloids are originally human voice artists...so yeh...still human...just anime characters follow

  • we'd be so fan testicle.

  • The reason Lady Gaga has more viewers is because your only have to listen to this version once before it is stuck in your mind forever <3

  • @pccontroller Yes I guess you are right, but now they have a Korean vocaloid named SeeU, so if i am not mistaken there are a coupel ways to pronounce Korean symbols sometimes, SeeU is my new favorite vocaloid now, no offence to the Japanese ones. lol

  • Awesome !!!!! ;w;

  • KKAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaWWWWWWWWWWAaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!

  • Gaga got pwned

  • it seems like more people in america like vicolid more than japan does ;3

  • I don't know, I really like Luka but these word seem sort of cut up, maybe if it flowed a little more, are they trying to give her a fake accent? Does she sound like this to Japanese people? I mean, it sounds off right?

  • @RisquinRusselcoff She probably sounds normal to japanese people. Its just probably that even if she has a english voice database she was made to speak english I mean yes she can but she usually only had to sing like 5 words of english in a song. So it wasnt exactly programmed to sing whole songs smoothly in english thats probably why it sounds bad.

  • @Kreanlorii You confuzzled me...I think you meant she was made to speak Japanese?

  • @sweet9angel4lena Well yeah i kinda worded it weirdly. I ment to say she was ment to be able to sing someenglish. and then just read the rest of the comment.

  • @RisquinRusselcoff the difference between Eng and Jap is that we have letters that represent, like, 3 different sounds. Japan doesn't have an alphabet of letters, but syllables that can only be pronounced one way. That's what makes Vocaloid easy for Japanese - you only need one recording for one syllable. But with English, you need a long 'a' sound, a short 'a' sound, etc... :P Plus, the voice actress had a Jap accent, so naturally, Luka's gonna have one too. But Big Al sounds almost normal.

  • :D muy bueno ... fenomenal !

  • Kinda... scary...

  • to 203 people who dislike this, it means an insult to luka...soon u will receive the wrath of Luka's fans

  • @GinSawamura 221 now

  • @GinSawamura 226 now

  • @GinSawamura i agree and this went up to 236 dislikes :(

  • soooooooo amazing! i'm in love <3

  • Though It has something cute <:

  • She sounded like she had most of her teeth

pulled out before she started singing D:

  • This song is a perfect example of subliminal indoctrination, I think it had something to do with the voice. After listening to it, the song was actually ringing in my ears. It wasn't like getting a song stuck in your head either. Crazy shit...

  • I don't know why, but i really like her computer voice, especially at the refrain ... this "Promise" sounds so ... kawaii >o<

  • I figure that they dont sound 100% clear in japanese either

  • she sounds metallic right?

  • I became a big fan of Megurine Luka when I heard these songs (^^).

She is one of the best singers in my world.

If you watch, I recommend you to choose HD or full screen because the sound is better.

・[Eng Sub] Double Lariat - Vocaloid - Hatsune Miku 39's Giving Day Concert

    watch?v=-dd4HqNOA4U

・Stardust Utopia Luka Megurine Miku Hatsune live HD with English sub

    watch?v=ODdWy0uvP8w

  • the only lady gaga song and my fave vocaloid! yay~ :D

  • Maybe they should try making a vocaloid that can actually produce all the sounds in the English language.

  • @nickgbruns The original Vocaloids were actually English and have 2500 voice clips (though in my opinion, you can still make a more-than-passable version using the 500 voice clips of Japanese Vocaloids). Miku is getting an English version as well which, as of last update, sounds incredibly convincing.

  • no luka, I'm YOUR biggest fan!

  • for listen a good vercion of this song, do copy paste of this:

"Alice of Human Sacrifice with English Sub - 人柱アリス Re:A version - sm4492586"

  • love bocaloid and hate lady gagá, she really sucks...x3 bocaloids stars do it more better ♥

  • this really good ^^

  • It sounds like she's got braces on... Or lisps.

  • I think vocaliods are good at singing in japanese but maybe not so much english. ^^'

  • sounds like she said, " Ew, u love me".

  • Luka trying to sing: Must.. put in..... EMOTION!

  • I think the program cant really do English just Japanese because of the pronunciation is in Japanese

  • luka...?

uhm this isn't luka heh ^^"

  • i don' t like this version

  • stop dislikeing

  • she sounds like she has a cold...

  • its not luka -_-"

  • I need this program that is AWESOME

  • Comment removed

  • @TeresaMoongem the song was composed by Deco*27

Hatsune Miku is just a voice bank

  • Is it me or does this vocaloid have an accent while singing in english?

  • @renkinjutsu01 The vocaloid underlie Japanese, so it's quite normal for them is an accent.

  • @MadHattery101 lmao i hear it too xD

  • Hahahaha that is so cool yet creepy at the same time!! xD

  • @UTAUKaimeiChou

actually i do know that vocaloids are bilingual and all but it seems that they pronounce Japanese best compared to other languages for instance: when singing in English you can completely tell that's not really how you should pronounce a word or they have trouble (in a way) pronouncing the word properly

  • lady gaga just gt pwned

  • The people in my class would flip out if they heard this!

  • Luka is so amazing!

  • Good job Luka!, you turned me to like Vocaloids!1!!!

  • esoo ne escucharia mejor sii fuera en japones por que no parese la voz de luka y comoque se trava y solo en las notas largas se escucha la vos de luka como que no cacha x3

  • wow...music today is so fake and artificial that a voice synthesizer from another country can sing it better...that's sad... and before you argue look up a video with kesha without the electronic help she normally has(*spoiler* she sounds like fran dresher)

  • @lolakitty11 as much as i can't disagree with you on the artificial part, it's hardly fake. VOCALOID, auto tunes, and things like that are just 21st century instruments. it's hardly sad, it's just music taking a step forward.

  • This version of Paparazzi is much better than Lady Gaga's.

  • @Majinonifox1 Thats cause its Luka.

  • Vocaloids are meant to sing Japanese words in a certain type of way so it will always be sort of odd when they sing English songs- i find that all the vocaloids (when singing in Japanese) sound extremely life like and with amazing emotion too. for example - a happy song -- Gumirical by the vocaloid Gumi :) it sounds extremely happily sung .

  • @hughesrock actually, you are wrong since Luka is Bi-lingual. also, there are english vocaloids like Sweet Ann.

i feel it depends on how the user covers the song. I agree however with that Gumi song. Its so lifelike!

  • wow (@_@)!!!

  • WOAH. I hate to admit it... But Gaga just got pwned!!! Also... I heard Gaga did a cover of this.

  • WOAH. I hate to admit it... But Gaga just got pwned!!!

  • better than Gaga's version...

  • @TheBakaTsumi go listen to an actual song prodused by vocaloid and tell me they dont have emotions. seriously alice by miku is one of the most heartfelt and emotional songs. the reason why this song doesnt have "emotion" (although i disagree) is because some random person used the vocaloid program to make a cover

  • @LilMissKittyKat7277 I hope I don't sound rude, but just as you have an opinion that you want to tell the world, I do as well. I feel that I may have confused/offended people in my comment and I may have said the wrong things. What I truly think is that Vocaloids DO carry the potential to bring people to emotion. However, compared to that of a human, they're simply out-beat.

  • Luka is the best at singing English songs!! I was surprised at how well she sang this!! :D

  • @MeeshaMeeshaPup It's because she has an English voice bank.

I think they should make more vocaloids with foreign voice banks.. :)

  • Luka is amazing at singing Lady Gaga. For a fake English voice especially. English is really hard.......................

  • wow luka fits to sing like lady gaga .3. well gaga got pwned xDDD

    gooo luka!

  • she sing a THOUSAND TIMES better than lady gaga!! Love Luka's english voice

  • Erg the Engineers need to work on the vocaloids accents before they can do american music , Honestly.

  • a bit more tweaking would of made it sound more better, as for real emotion its just we have real time control over our voices yet some of us sound crap when we try to sing because physical limits and lack of practice where on a computer the only limitation will always be the user, and if the user isn't willing to put in the time it will sound like shit... as for lady gaga crap singer but makes up for it in other areas, just like uffie!! infact i think vocaloid sings better than uffie :P

  • No, it will be some time until a computer can sing with 'real' emotion and all that (It can still happen ... might just take some time). But you can't really compare a human with a computer. Like Lady gaga and Luka, Lady gaga writes alot of her songs herself and she is an awesome performer (have seen her live, so I know) but Luka isn't even real and she does not have any 'real' talent. Although I do choose to listen to vocaloid rather than real singers. I'm just sayin', you can't compare.

  • To be completely honest, I love Vocaloid, but I feel that they'll never be able to reach up to humans when it comes to the emotion in singing. Sure, their songs are catchy and their voices are very well done, but they can't capture feeling. There could be a trillion Vocaloids over the next century, but they'll never be able to compare to the singing of a human.

  • @TheBakaTsumi Don't underestimate the power of technology... We have friggen holograms! But, yeah.. I kinda agree with you. Would be interesting if they were to make Vocaloid realistic sounding though.

  • @GreenSkittlesPwn Then refer to the Vocaloids Appends and Gumi's Extends!!! They have feelings now!!!

  • @GreenSkittlesPwn LOL OMG I saw the Vocaloid concerts and I was just like "WOAH THATS SO COOL." But at the same time, I was kinda laughing 'cause, I mean, come on, you're cheering for a hologram. LOLL And I would jizz my pants if that happened. :O

  • @TheBakaTsumi Well yeah....they're computer generated voices. How are they supposed to show emotion?

  • @gmpitts16 I know, that's exactly my point. I feel that sometimes people over-hype Vocaloids when it comes to these kind of "covers" or "dubs." (I don't know what to call it. XD) Vocaloid versions are catchy, but usually I like the human version better because the ability of Vocaloid isn't up there with the one of a human.

  • @TheBakaTsumi Have you ever heard of the Appends? I sure do hear some emotion in that. <3

  • @Roserietta That's one of my favorite Vocaloid songs. :D But I feel that when you're talking about emotion, you hear more of it from the actual music, not the Vocaloid singing. If you heard only Hatsune Miku singing, it wouldn't be nearly as good, at least in my opinion. I usually like listening to the Nico Nico Chorus versions of their songs. o u o

  • @TheBakaTsumi In my opinion, I think that the Vocoloid's Songs are better than the shit we hear nowadays..

  • @kandykikki I never said that Vocaloid songs sucked. I'm actually a pretty hardcore Vocaloid fan. (Meh...maybe hardcore is a little too strong, but I really like a lot of their songs and I have drawn a good number of fanarts for them.) I'm just saying that I usually like to hear people like Choucho or Hanatan or whoever make their own covers of them. :)

  • @TheBakaTsumi You never know, one day they might make it so the voice providers have to also give various emotions when providing the voice

  • @TheBakaTsumi

ironically, what you said reminds me think of len's new milenium, utopia, and faint wish

  • @TheBakaTsumi

yeah but nowadays, humans use so much edditing in their songs, they sound a lot like the vocaloids. When singing other songs, it probably would be a little harder to capture emotion.

  • @otakufanatic98 That's true. :O Autotune sucks! >:U But I'm talking about the people in like Nico Nico Chorus who do covers of Vocaloid songs. :) I would go gay for some of their voices LOL.

  • @TheBakaTsumi I disagree. Vocaloids have brought me to tears, not only because of the sad lyrics/ stories, but because of the emotion that they're somehow managed to pull out of a voice synthesizer. Even if they didn't have feeling, they're still fantastic, in the notion that they're really just a program, and in my opinion, they've beat out human singers already, multiple times.

  • @personwhomeatspie Everyone has their own opinion, and I respect yours. In fact, I feel that you make a really good point. :D However, I'm not saying that every single human singer out there will be better than Vocaloids. I'm just saying that the ability of a human when it comes to expanding their talent and captivating the listener with their passion is superior to that of a Vocaloid. I really do love Vocaloid. :)

  • @TheBakaTsumi ^ . ^; I got a little worked up, lol. I do agree with what you're saying in a way, that they (humans) do capture emotion better than Vocaloids, but as I said, it still is amazing how much emotion a program can bring to singing. This really is not a song that I would say is full of emotion, but she's singing is Engrish and sounds robotic, but that's totally natural, considering the fact that she's just singing a Lady Gaga song. xD;

  • @TheBakaTsumi i know what you mean there :P but honestley, if you listen to some of the lilium covers, for example its amazing how close it comes!

and they still have a hell of a lot more feeling then some singers out there...

  • @TheBakaTsumi You have to admit some singers don't put any emotion and the people who are creating the songs put emotion. For example last night good night.

  • @TheBakaTsumi I have to disagree ... I've heard songs where you hear some feeling and also, who know where the technology will be in like 20 years ? Who thought there'd be a singing synthesizer for 20 years ago ?

  • @TheBakaTsumi next century is a little over exagerated don't you think? Considering how we advanced in the past 20 years, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a human like vocaloid in the next 20~30 years.

  • @TheBakaTsumi How do you know? o yeah thats right you don't. We can't even predict what will happen 50 years from now, let alone a decade. Sure emulation emotion is extremely difficult, but to say we will never reach that level of realism is...no just no

  • @TheBakaTsumi uhh... the songs have complete meaning. anything that can make you laugh, cry, or have any type of mixed emotions has a lot of feeling. in some songs, the vocaloids sound like they have a bit of feeling. and also, of course it'll sound like no feeling cos they're pretty much PROGRAMS. not people.

    .___.

srry just expressing my opinion. i still agree with you a little bit tho. i like to listen to covers by people on niconico cos they're amazing. :D

    i completely respect your opinion

  • @TheBakaTsumi I think that Alice from Hatsune Miku with many emotions sings better than any human

    sry for bad english

  • a human song to vocaloid voice :|

there's a lot of vocaloid songs that makes me cry i guess it depends on the one whose listening to it.

  • @TheBakaTsumi I'm sure in a century (err..much sooner), the Vocaloids will at least have variations of singing with emotion, and you'll be able to set when they express an emotion in their singing.

  • @TheBakaTsumi I agree with you...to a certain extent. While it's apparent that this person used a lot of effort, they are a terrible example of how well vocaloids can be used. There are many producers that capture the true essence of the emotion they attempt to convey in their songs through outstanding use of a vocaloid instrument, and I pity you for never having come across them.

In fact, in comparison to someone like Wowaka, or DECO*27, this Luka's pitching is fucking garbage lol

  • @BLACKDOTSx I agree with you completely.

Other artists, should also include those who use Miku with a dark append; such as: Hachi, NashimotoP and HoeHoep.

Please don't take this particular cover or other cover songs as the actuality to how most Vocaloid voice banks are suppose to sound in the terms of music.

  • @TheBakaTsumi A compromise/sacrifice of emotion and technique for tonal accuracy and range. Sure in the future, audio scientists and engineers can integrate drive, falsetto, and other human vocal techniques into speech replication software, but emotion is a human product/experience. Same extends for auto-tune and the like.

  • @TheBakaTsumi yea its rly sad tht they cant give out emotion in their singing like humans

  • @TheBakaTsumi Of course they won't be as great as humans. A human actually has to put effort to sing. Sure, it takes a lot of time to make a vocaloid sing, but when it comes to the truth: they are fake. And they will never replace ANYONE. So for the die-hard fans: Len is never going to be better than JB. :)

  • @Okiora Damnnnn, you're gonna get killed LOL. I agree though. :D I think that sometimes Vocaloid is too overhyped. :P

  • @TheBakaTsumi Depends on the song. Some are better for Vocaloids (such as Kagome Kagome and possibly also Oyasumi) because the longer stretches of the same tone or the robotic sound can add to the creepiness or emotional feeling the song projects.

Furthermore, some lyrics will always be better for the characters that are Vocaloids because they're singing about the sad aspects of being a Vocaloid (or an android in general).

  • And as long as the lyrics don't suck, Vocaloids sound more sincere (and less fake/pretentious) than a LOT of humans. That is a huge factor for many songs.

  • @Taoisman Okay, after reading like a million replies to my comment, I think a lot of people have misunderstood me. As I've said before, I'm NOT saying that every human being out there will be better than a Vocaloid. Some of us are good singers, and some of us are not. What I'm trying to say that the human ABILITY surpasses that of a Vocaloid. I mean, come on, they're robots. Even with futuristic technology to make them sound real, humans still hold first place for emotion and passion.

  • @TheBakaTsumi Yeah, a lot of people might have taken that the wrong way. Me, I just disagree. Possibly because I put them in two different categories. There are many concepts humans can put more emotion into, and there are many concepts Vocaloids can put more emotion into. It's a mostly thematic difference that relies on the listener's interpretation. So to me, they are equal in potential (which is almost endless), and just plain different in execution.

  • @Taoisman so true

  • @TheBakaTsumi

Miku and Rin can speak only Japanese.

And Luka can speak English, too but not so good at it.

As far as you state about Luka's English song, I think you are right.

But about Japanese song, they seem to have already exceeded human.

I feel their songs have hearts.

If a human who has no heart programs a song, the song doesn&
