Great recipe, by the way. And I love how you gave us other options about how to serve it and the different sauces also. Thank you so much for sharing ;) jeovana
Hi, I have a question about the recipe. I was wondering if I could marinate the tofu overnight with the sauces, then cook it. What do you think? jeovana
I have never been able to get my tofu like they do at Chinese places. I like it the way they make it when it is in triangles, the schezuan bean curd, that's what I like. Sometimes they do this "home style" bean curd and it doesn't even seem likes it is even Chinese, it's like "pot pie" with peas and carrots and gravy and the tofu is soft in little cubes and doesn't have the good texture.
I'm guessing they use a different kind of tofu than what is usually sold in grocery stores.
This looks amazing! I am vegan and always in the look for new, delicious vegan recipes, especially with tofu. I'll try this tomorrow, thank you so much, :)
It's not about geting cheap, but it is about making fresh at home. I make many things at home eventhough I don't have time, just to get that freshness and satisfaction. And I have feeling that if I make this tofu at home even, it will be better than store bought. But I don't blame you, everybody has their own preference, so I am just sharing....Have a bless day and Keep enjoying.
Hi Behanaa....how to make tofu at home? Those minced garlic were home made or store bought? how to make minced garlic at home please teach us behanaa...god bless you and your family....
I use store bought minced garlic and i have never tried to make tofu at home but you inspired me to give it a try. I make paneer so this should work woth soy milk...
It doean't have to look exactly mine. If it taste great then enjoy or spice it up more or add more sauce to adjust with your flavor...most people tried this recipe, loved it...enjoy!
I tired this tonight with sweet and sour sauce and it was amazing! Using sweet indonesian soy sauce and adding cracked pepper and hot chilli paste made for the perfect sweet and hot combo! I'll be making this again, thank you.
Very good question...first time ever someone asked me question about calorie...if you use 15 oz pack of tofu for this recipe amount per serving is 215 calorie...
This looks good. I just had another one of my brilliant ideas and I will do it someday soon. I will buy one of the Panda Express bottles to make my next Tofu stir fry. They sell them at Panda Express and some Walmart Supercenters. I think I will buy the Mandarin one because I bought it one time but this time, I will make a Tofu one because I love their Tofu eggplant.
Hi, just want to share I made it a bit different, sesame oil, garlic paste, sambal oelek, tamarind sauce and sesame seeds. so no soy sauce.. I did add sesame seeds and pumpkinseeds too, very nice taste.
Thanx for your interest but we can not expect always positive from everyone. May be they liked recipe but not my presentation...one or the other...so you enjoy!
Always cook this recipe on low to medium heat. I hardly use high heat for my cooking. It taste better when cook them with right temperature. It cooks evenly with low to medium temperature. Enjoy!
I love tofu and I enjoy eating it more then meat! Even though red meat is good,it's not very healthy for you. I'm not a vegetarian Because I still enjoy sea food and Chicken, But I would choose Tofu over them any day :)
I just made this dish for lunch. It was great! I added a little ginger and extra red pepper flakes. I look forward to learning more tofu dishes. It's a great extra source of calcium.
Serves 4 and stays good in fridge for about 2-3 days but it taste better freshly cooked and since it doesn't take much time to cook, I recommend to cook just before eating. Enjoy!
