@akaiYaMa9 They are elite because there are so few gymnasts in Romania! In China there are thousands and thousands, and still only 18 medals are won. In Romania there are only a few to pick from - and they won two medals. Conclusion: they are more elite than Chinese gymnasts!
And please do not insult people you do not know! You don't know anything about the habits of the Romanian gymnasts!
....China is T E R R I B L E ! Children are exploited! Their parents aren't parents! I do gymnastics when I was two years.I 'a life of sacrifice but also of satisfaction. But I do because I love the gym, but these children are forced! Controls the state!
i am a romanian and after seeing this i am so proud that romania has so great performances without having chinese or american facilities...for example in china or usa are tousand of young girls who wants to become gymnast, in romania just a few girls are gymnast and even so our country remains in the elite of this wonderful sport..
They should have picked a translator that sound like she's got a dick in her mouth. it's like having someone like dolly parton dubbing for Danica Patrick
She could always do it next year. Plus if she was twelve in 2005, then she still wouldn't be able to compete. she would only be 15. 16 is the legal age for olympic competitors. she is an excellent gymnast though.
I think there are some translation mistakes. She didnt say that she doesnt like this and that peron from what I learn from her in Chinese. She is a lovely girl working hard and pursue her dreams.
Not to make too fine a point of things but this documentary was not about this young girl. The documentary was about China. It included several other people as well. It was called "China Revealed."
Now...in regard to this child. I can't believe she didn't make the team!!!
we had to watch this in history and the teacher gave us homework on the weekend which is to find out if she made it or not cuz the whole class is wondering... do u know if she did?
i think some people forget that what is normal to them is not normal for others. so while some people may pity this girl, i don't think we should, she appears to be genuinely happy. values and normalcy differ per country
When was this made?

the translator said
"when i am at the top of a roller coaster, it feels like being on the parallel bars at gym" but they probably meant uneven bars.....
zoethezebra 2 years ago 4
Well the technical term is uneven parallel bars. The bars are technically parallel and uneven.

Pitchforker27 3 years ago
China's gold medallist gymnasts can earn up to 20-30 million a year.
that is approx Lebron James' NBA salary
can an American gymnast do that?
PRCForever 3 years ago 2
Nope, even in Malaysia, you get a silver, and you're all set. You could become a datu, they're really proud of their athletes.
Pitchforker27 3 years ago
why not bronze?

Any medal, I was just using silver as an example.
