I can already see the strategic errors made even before playing the game...

For example, at 1:15, pigeon should've been watching his own back as well as the other mech, and at 1:52, pigeon should've finished off TriCurious so he wouldn't have to face two mechs at once when he got out of the tunnel, and he shouldn't have wasted fuel on the way out, since he was out at the opening...OH MY GOD I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW

Looks pretty much like any other FPS game out there, but with jetpacks. I think I prefer MWO's approach better.

@ArchLurker And the jetpacks and machines are what make it superior to all the other bland, trigger-happy army men from other fps games.

MWO's approach, from what I've seen, is simply standing in one place and pushing buttons until the other guy falls down. That doesn't appeal to me as "action" gameplay.

Some things I hope this game will have :D

1) Proper objective based, huge multiplayer

2) INSANE customisation

3) Teamwork based would be brilliant, so a COMMANDER role. Say your team is attacking a stronghold, your commander can be in charge of things like scouting, marking targets, supporting the fight by offering support and repairs etc... And the defensive com could do stuff like setting up defenses etc.... I dunno, would be realy cool to see this.

The gameplay looks GREAT so far :)

Dear god. Hats off to whoever you have on environment art (both execution and direction). This was nothing short of beautiful to see, and apart from maybe one of the rock formations early on (maybe), I don't think I saw--or certainly didn't notice--a prefab model, despite the heavy use of machinery (which Unreal has assets for in spades).

@marcster1994 If you have a semi-modern PC I imagine you'll run it, at least on reduced settings. Presumably the reason it's not on PS3 is because free-to-play models don't work that well on consoles.

@marcster1994 Ah, it's because free-2-play models are generally supported by microtransactions, and Sony and Microsoft are both pretty strict with what's sold on their system. This rules out micro-transactions completely. The microtransactions pretty much support the developers and their servers, so without those they'd be stuffed.

I hope that this being free to play won't make it as shallow as most PVP F2P games are. Am I the only one who'd prefer a regular old Steam/ XBLA/ PSN release? I'd rather pay $20 one time than pay $100 on silly microtransactions just to get a slight leg up on the competition. Would be good to be able turn off robot's interior (leaving only guns on sides), or move it to the sides more and to the bottom of the frame, it's so sad it's taking almost half of the screen, interior is massive, but clean first person views look more cool and more real. Plus there's too much going on and soon interior starting to get annoying during gameplay.

@biotomaz Not so much more real. Remember, you're not the mech, you're the pilot. I think it's cool how they've integrated a lot of the HUD functionality into the cockpit itself, instead of a 'virtual' display. Also, the difference between the outside world, the cockpit, and the 'pilot's view' gives a much greater feeling of weight, momentum, and that you're inside a vehicle, instead of just possessing a 20 foot tall killing machine.

@Earthenfist Sure it looks dramatic with HUD, and all that momentum and so on. But it takes HALF of the screen. I personally would love to zoom in to leave most (preferrably all) of the hud outside of the frame, like you would do in a FPS shooter, that gives more first person feeling, like you are really inside of the 3D invironment, not just in front of the HUD sprite, even if it moves with momentum. At least for fun, just to enjoy fantastic views.
