  • Thank you SO much for uploading this! I've been really frustrated because I can't seem to get a lot of tricks & am having a hard time working on flow & continuous movement. Finding this tutorial let me learn a new trick & gave me a bit of a boost. :D

  • can you do this on the right side? with right hand

  • @jojoblondal - You'd have to be hooping to the right to pick it up and do this with your right hand. I hoop to the left so I use my left hand. :) But yes, it is possible.

  • OMG - this is how i learned to do it too. i wanted to try and 'perfect' it by looking at tutorials, but all of them show how to pick it up from the back.. which i am having a very hard time learning. thank you for solidifying THIS method!

  • I can only do it with the aid of spinning around, but I just did it! Thanks so much for the tut! (I think I could do it without spinning if I had a larger hoop, xD )

  • Hey girl!! Love the way you explained it! Ive been trying to learn this trick for weeks now lol and my friend has a hard time explaining it to me. Ill be trying it out this afternoon ill let you know how it goes. Thanks girl xoxox Keep hoopin <3

  • thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

  • Wow this video helped a lot and made it a lot easier:3 thankyouu madam

  • ha thats so funny cuz i just realized i do the same thing! :)

  • thank you o much for sharing this! i found this method to be much easier and faster than grabing the hoop from the back. :)

  • You're awesome :) I just got to watch my friend run around giggling after succeeding at this trick. I myself have only been officially hoopiing for 3 days now but am fairly certainly addicted and celebrated by going to the hardware store to manufactore my own. Thank you so much for sharing your "education" with us!! Just keep spinning spinning spinning! haha

  • @jymmsom This made my day! I am so glad I could help!

  • this was so helpful...now if i can only figure out how to get it back down again...any ideas? you broke this trick down so well...maybe you can teach the second step? thanks

  • @judylcb You're the second one to request a full vortex tutorial =) I will try to make one of those soon! I hadn't thought about teaching how to put it back on your body (I kind of auto pilot now haha)

Only advice for right now for you would be to pay attention to when the open spot is in front of you while you hoop above your head. When it's in front of you, try putting the hoop back on your body (essentially your body is now the 'anchor' like your thumb was) - I will try to get video! :)

  • This is how Hoopnotica explains how to do it on their level 1 DVD. Nice tutorial.

  • @Mason08 - Oh! Never bought in to the whole having to pay for something that should be free, thing... :p Most hoopers that I showed this to hadn't seen it anywhere! Glad to know that an easier method is also being shared, although for a price... (Which is why this is on youtube, free!) :)

  • wow! that's exactly how i do it, but i am having problems doin the vortex, do u have a video on how to do that?

  • I love your tutorial! I could never do the 1st method but YOUR trick is such easy! I did it at once! Thx :)

  • @Evilchos Awesome! I am so glad I could help! =)

  • That's how i used to lift the hoop all the time until i learned the back lift trick, i find that it's a lot easier lifting it from the front than the back. But you did a great job explaining this and you seemed to have a lot of fun with it.

  • oh wow thank you! I never could figure out the back lift thing.... it was so frustrating :( but 2 minutes with your vid and I did it! lol baby steps :) you should do more how to's if you get the chance!

  • @kauaikapu So glad I could help =) <3 <3 <3!

  • I love it this is so much easier then the other way I learned

  • Ooooh ooohh! I did it! i did it! <33333

  • hahahahahah <3

i love you lindsey. i was looking for hoop tutorials and i found this and i was like HEY!!! I KNOW HER! all star struck and shiittt XD

    jkjk

but i'm gonna listen to that there psychadellic cow and go outside :]

  • @prettypoigirl *giggles* Yay! I'm happy you got it! <3

  • i kept hitting myself in the head with the behind-the-back raise, i just did this one just then and it took a couple goes but i got it woo! i'm gonna keep practicing both ways though, add it to the tricks list, which is only 1 and a half atm lol...

  • So happy to hear it! =) <3!

  • Yay, thank you i learned this way a lot faster it was a lot easier. thank you! ^^

  • Glad to help! :D <3!

  • I just learned to do the behind the back one last night! But you make this look a lot easier! Definitely going to try this today! Thank you!

  • Awesome! :D Good luck! ^_^

  • LOL i do th SAME THING

  • Wonderful! Glad people are getting to know about it somehow. :)

  • Thanks! I am so going to try this. I can't get the "hand behind the back" method without whapping myself in the head :)

  • can you repeat this tutorial using slow motion bcoz its hard 4 me to do this in front..but i can do it through my back much better...

  • Thanks for the demo. This is the only way I can do a hoop lift (from the front). After months of struggling, I gave up on lifting the hoop from my hand on my back. Could you do a demo with that move? Even after watching other tutorials, I can only lift it a few inches then it bashes me in the head or drops. Don't think my shoulder is bendy enough. I like demos that show the move from different angles (front, side and back) which clarifies it a bit more. Thanks again!

  • I recommend SaFire's tutorial on that move, you might be lifting it up too slowly or something. I remember getting all twisted up in it before, too. =) I don't know when I'll have enough time to make another tutorial, but if you're still having problems with it, try doing it while spinning (with the direction of the hoop) to slow it down. :) You might have more success that way!

  • it helped me alot!!!:)

  • I'm so glad! :D

  • Aaahhh!! Thank you soooo much! This made it so much easier!!

  • Wonderful! I am so happy to have helped!

  • i love it!! thank you so much, because i was having a terrible time with the other method. this is much easier for me.

  • Yay! I am so happy that you got it down! It really opens a lot of possibilities for tricks once you get it down. :)

  • I found that to be very helpful! I like both methods but with yours I found it is easier to bring the hoop down and spin it off your neck after you bring it over your head. I even found it easier to transition to hand hooping above your head with your method. Thank you, thank you! n' much love

  • Fantastic! I am so happy to have helped =)

  • Ur still doin it wrong hon. U put ur left foot in, u put ur left foot out, u put ur left foot in, & ya shake it all about. Or 'aboot' if ur Canadian, which I'm not either, but YMMV.

  • Heheh, professional hooping. :-) Sexy!

  • Hehe, some day I hope ^__^ Rar, thanks! <3

  • very cool video!

  • Thank you ^__^ <3
