true,but Finland got its whole independance from Russia-and all Finnish scholars praise Russia for giving unprecedented by those times freedom and autonomy to Finland which Finland never had under Sweden and that helped to shape its statehood in 1917.But in ww2 Finland sided with Hitler and borders were demarcated as result of Finland-Germany defeat in ww2, not winter war

@pedarikarhu borders are demarcated NOT as result of winter war, but as result of ww2 in which Finland fought for Nazi Germany and was defeated.Also those parts of Karelia were inhabited by Finns,but were taken by Russia from Sweden, Viborg was traken from Sweeden even earlier in 1710.Russia helped Finland to get independance by unprecedenbted autonomy rights in 19 century and then granting them independance in 1917,in fact Russia presented to Finns ALL their territory which it took from Sweden

Please try to understand the difference between political and cultural borders, karelia has been inhabited by finns for ages, or more preferably by karelians, that means that no matter how long russians controlled the area, its still finnish land.

My point all along has been that Karelia is Karelian land, not russian land. End of the story.

well, the story is that finland has been ceeding territory to Russia ever since Peter the Great demolished Swedish empire. In this particular instance these five guys are yelling about Molotov Ribentrop pakt as well as Karelia which is a patch of land ceeded to Russia during the WWII.
