  • did u film this with a toaster?

  • next time dont film with a calculator

  • @robinget7 ..............LOL!!!!!

  • Pro grafa

  • The second my dachsies would start to hunt I'd punish them. They're not allowed to hunt. But they don't really. They love to be around my own rabbits and chickens and never hurt them. Bred for hunting? Only when you stimulate them to hunt. If you don't, they won't. And I had several dachsies already. All fine with my cats, rabbits and chickens.

  • @Saartje05 We have owned our daschund for over 2 years now. He has grown up with our cats and other dog. We have never 'stimulated him to hunt'. We feed him normal food, take him for normal walks and give him lots of love and attention yet, he has got stuck down rabbit holes numerous times, and tends to run away for long periods of time hunting rabbits, thus we have to keep him on the lead most times. Also today, sadly, he killed both our guinea pigs by jumping on the cage and ripping the metal.

  • @iCgalz So train him. Try clicker training. Why is it I never have problems with my dachsies? I had several now and mine always lived together with other animals. We live next to the forest and they never just run off to hunt or chase rabbits. I recommend clicker training, it works perfectly.

  • @Saartje05 what is clicker training? we have tried everything we knew off, all though never heard of that. will give it a try.

  • @iCgalz You use a clicker. It's a thing you keep in your hand and every time the dog does something right you click. There's a lot of info about it on the internet. I'm sure you can find a training near you too. It works perfectly. You can train your dog with it, but also a horse and zoos use the clicker to train the animals there. You can start using the clicker when the dog is an adult. I own dogs since I'm twelve and I worked with dogs for over twelve years and this is the best way.

  • Why stifle their genetics?

Why not get a lap dog? A Teckel is / was bred TO hunt.

You do the breed a disservice.

  • @StSimonMartyr And a bull dog was bred to fight bulls. My dachsies never hunt, they even love our rabbits.

  • Doxies found giant rats living under our deck, and exterminated all of them within a week. It was funny trying to take the kill away from them, they were prepared to hoard it like treasure.

  • It's nice to see dogs do what they were bred for.

  • Thats what they were breed for, hunting small game. I wish there were places like this in north virginia where my dachs could hunt.

  • Places like this are becoming harder to find in our area with new development or the place having to be closed because of people trashing the area. I dread the day this place is closed...Gracey and Zane live for their trips there.

  • aww cute doxies! mine likes to hunt too!

  • Thank you! Marley is too cute, I love your video where he is hunting lizards. His tail is just a waggling.
