Bem normal essas balanços em cima dos Andes. Passei pela Aerolineas Argentinas num A320 dia 25/05/08. Na volta não aconteceu nada, pois o tempo estava muito bom.
Turbulence can cause jets to crash however the statistical evidence is low. There are different kinds of turbuelence and if wind shear turbulence is generated in close proximity to the ground or a downward air mass then it can be fatal.
Yes dude, it can. A severe turbulence can damage the fuselage or plane structure, of corse under a huge storm (pilots avoid storms, but sometimes is not possible). In 1998, In a fly from Cordoba Argentina to Santiago Chile, I almost have a fucking accident, the plane was a 737-200, turbulence was so severe that we lost too much altitude, and we could see the mountains very near. Pilots told me then that sth like that never happened before (to them). We were really lucky.
Yes,under some circumstances it can cause it to crash, but it happens very rarely.Like being in the mountains or low altitude it can crash because of turbulence, but at 9000,10 000 meters it doesen't often affect a plane hard.A 737-200 is an old aircraft and likely to sustain bigger damage then a 737NG like the 800 and 900 in turbulence.
Turbulence are never a solitary reason of a plane crash.Show me the accident where turbulence alone caused a plane to crash.Even the crash of Air France 447 was not caused primarily by turbulence.Turbulence can be a factor, but not a cause.
Almost very flight I've been on is a really bumpy one.One was so bad years ago crossing the Atlantic that ppl were falling all over each other, food was spilling, ppl were screaming, one guy was running up and down the isle going nuts and I thought we were going to die.Turbulence can render a plane uncontrolable at times.I hate the damn wind and and I'm sure it hates me.
i had a similar experience when i flew lan airlines from santiago to buenos aires, the turbulence was so bad that people began to pray, and i think i wet the seat.......

"heads bouncing"... they are just chatting and turning their heads towards spouse/friend sitting next to them. Normal descend movement.

come on people. just remember, when you encounter turbulence, that the bumps are made of air
huesao 5 years ago
the andes crossing can be pretty shaky, mountains reach 20 K ft and higher, i've done it a few times.

Nothing to worry about. Just some potholes in the sky. lol....Hey, just relax, people. Turbulence may occur in any minutes, still people are safe!

Had you travell to Amazon Jungle? When the plane approach there it's start a terrible turbulence that makes the passangers worried.
