@racourdav I actually think he might have had some voice training later on in his career because he seems to hold notes longer in his later recordings. I think I remember reading that there was speculation about that. Lots of singers do sometimes when they encounter voice problems like sore throats
@titarse100 He re-recorded a lot of his popular songs later onwards in which his voiced sounded a bit more mature/aged. I perosnally find the original recordings much better. Regards.
this song is one of the best written and sung by Nat King Cole. Makes me cry everytime I iisten to it. Reminds me of my Mom - who is really unforgettable.

The 1961 remastered version sounds much better than this version.
Sadly, the smoking seemed to have made his voice better as he aged. He's my favorite male singer--
