One of the most striking features of the cult Italian bikes is the unique sound of the engines. This bass rumble no way be confused with anyone else and can make sure that while women bristle specific places, all other road users experiencing primary horror.
Getting my 4th Duc next month(after 750Ss, 900Ss, 996S). The "ugly one" 999. Hey, i aint lookin at it, i'm riding it. Big difference. Using it for commuting; Daily gettin to work and back. Sure, Jap bikes are built better. More comfort, more power, less maintenance.
But still... Japs ain't Ducs. Ride one to know one.
Big Mistake on my Soul... Had a 2001 748 Biposto, with only 557.00 miles. Sold it mistake... Looking for all Ducati Cmeoncbay would like to buy back some of the history/memories he has lost Looking/want 2002 Ducati 998 R, droped its ok not running I don't care just need a fram to start with don't have a frame its ok, lets start with a wheel you get the picture. '02 998R, Red, '02 748R, Yellow is ok. C me on C-Bay team. 998R cmeoncbay 408 859-7411
jap versus duc just sold 996s 2002 neil hodgson replica only 35 ever made and got a brand new blade the ducati was only really any good when your riding balls out if your in a town or just going steady the steering is heavy quite hard to turn generaly hard work to ride. new blade what a bit of kit it is awsome so sos os fast it handles like a dream if your gunning it or just pottering to the shops does everything ducati did but ten times easier and faster. just not very exiting DUCATI return
Funny, I ride my Ducati 998 as a commuter bike, I ride it to work almost everyday and I ride it on long (between 200 and 500 mile) rides on the weekends without any comfort problems. Maybe the Ducati is just not built for you, I don't know.
My Ducati 998 is actually more comfortable than my Honda VFR...for me anyway.
s = sports production model r = racing production model, therefore the r model has titanium conrods, also titanium valves based on the race model everthings lighter
Thats why they brake down all the time.Valve timing belt needs changing all the time..Nice bikes these Ducatis, just too expensive to maintain..And another thing, ducatis are great for track use, but go try and ide one on a street and tell me how do you feel afterwards.Statistics show that only 5 % of the riders actualy take their bikes out on a track, the other 95% use them on the streets.Thats where jap bikes are the best.Dont be a fan boy ok..And dont say Japan is shit.Who are u to judge.
For one who snaps at those that judge, you're doing an awful lot of judging.
First off, my Ducati has never broken down. I also happen to think that the Monster, Hypermotard, Multistrada, Sport Classic, are great bikes for street use because they are standard bikes with a neutral riding position. Ducati seems to produce more standard bikes than any other manufacturer.
If you plan to do as little maintenance on your bike as you would on an economy car and want the lowest price, go Japanese.
My 2002 Ducati 998 has not had any major service other than oil and tires for the last 16,000 miles, no problems what-so-ever. NO Valve Problems, no timing belt issues, nothing!
I ride my Ducati all year in the east coast, yes, rain and snow have seen my Ducati on a regular basis.
Until you own a Ducati and have experienced one first hand, stop talking out of your ass.
We had 3 ducatis and none of them worked properly. everytime they were started had a different sound... 999, 1098 , 748.. All rubbish. We didnt comute..We raced, they slowly fell apart. They look good but thats bout it.Brakes are ok util they melt off, good chasis but the engine is rubbish..No wonder there arent any at the Isle Of Man TT ..Woudlnt last a lap. Not to mention they are very low on power.
If Ducati's break down and are not capable of racing, why is it they have won more WSB Championships than all other manufacturers combined in the past 21 years?
Road racing real life is much different from short circuit racing on perfect tracks. And its not the brakes that fail, its the brake pads...What im trying to say is..The bike has not enough power..200 hp and above is power. And this ducati makes 149 with mods ..And dont even bring the desmo up..Thats a museum piece.Bottom line,,
Ducatis are great on the track, low on power always got smoked down the straight but too oriented trackwise to be user friendly for the world.fanboy.
And swinger is ruined cause of bad design, had to be scraped, and fork slewes ruined, had to be replaced,, everything is rubbish... Heres the evidence..
Ducati have won more World Titles than 'all of the other manufacturers put together'. So maybe you were a bit rubbish with the spanners rather than the Ducati's being bad... Just a thought :P
Just wondering why you had 3 then maybe thay made you look better. i have a 998 bayliss replica for 2 years and never had a problem and so easy to service too
actually there is quite a large difference in S and R bikes.
S= slightly upgraded suspension and wheels
R= full ohlins race suspension(3,000), forged rims(2,000), full termignoni exhaust(2,500), carbon fiber bodywork(over 1,500 depending on bike), titanium engine components and fasteners, also the R models are very limited. Ducati produces less the 300 for every model and only 150 come into the US.
so please don't say there isnt a difference...ignorance will only get you so far.

999, 1098, 748, all VERY DIFFERENT bikes, of course they sound different.
Ducati's are 10-15% less on HP but 20% more on Torque. You do know the advantages of Torque don't you? Maybe not.
As far as racing, I know countless members of my Ducati Club that race them all the time WITHOUT problems.
Come to NYC and I'll show you countless Racing and non Racing Ducati's that are flawless and will challenge any Jap bike.
Brembo brakes are crap? Wow! Get a clue!

Yamaha 1 Championship, Suzuki 1 Championship, Honda 4 Championships, Ducati 15 Championships.
The proof is in the Championships, Ducati is King when it comes to racing. If Ducati racing teams can tune their bikes, why can't you?

WTF kind of racing do you do where you require 200hp? None of the Jap bikes produce that much either.
Wait, Slovenia is famous for it motorcycle racing, I forgot. LMAO!
Show us one of YOUR bikes on YouTube, I think you're full of shit.
