  • My husband asked me shortly after we got married why I couldn't have picked save the dolphins instead of save the world. Well. There's still time. Did you know there is a Pink River Dophin ??

  • body language, what can be eaten, and what to avoid) there are things we might not even know about that an experienced mother would know.

  • they can breed in captivity but there isn't enough to have even a slightly stable population... no genetic diversity. plus they don't take kindly to being taken out of the wild where we would have to get them from to breed them. furthermore they would have to be trained to be afraid of humans to avoid being killed and learn all of the skills it normally takes a mother dolphin to teach them so they can live in the wild (hunting, echolocation skills since they are nearly blind, posturing

  • Though declared Functionally extinct in 2006 there may be the hope of a Lazarus return of them......but that is all the hope we have of them right now. Every animal that becomes extinct due to our hands....kills our humanity just a tiny bit more, for if there is no room for them (the animals) on this earth...is there enough room for us. We are not above the laws of nature!

  • @equarg there was a non-scientific sighting in 2007.

  • This animal is extinct and the finless porpoise will soon be extinct too. It's because people breed breed breed breed and breed. Nobody can talk about population control because that's politically incorrect.

How much longer are we going to wait before we realize we have a population crisis in the world? Are we going to have to fight wars over food and water soon before people open their damn eyes and realize we can't sustain this growth?

  • Good job to the chinese people

  • the Chinese government is so stupid. They cant accept that they killed the

Yangtze river dolphin though .Serves them right!!!

  • they were declared extinct in 2006. There are none left

  • This is a great upload. I like the River Dolphins, and also your message. Many years ago I was in the Orinoco Delta and had the good fortune to see these animals.

    Love Andrea

  • If they were declared functionally extinct, they probably don't have enough dolphins to provide a breeding population. They're pretty much done for. It's very sad

  • I hope we can save them:(

    5*****

  • There Gone Now :(

just said on news but i think there still out there

  • 2009 feb 1st sighting of the river dolphin

  • Its sad that many of this animales are almost gone even when we know it and goverment xpend the money on oyher things instead of protecting this beautiful animals, and the people that kill them have no remords(dont know if is spelled correctly).Like Michael Jackson many times said:Heal the world!!!!

  • CAN WE BREED RIVER DOLPHINS IN CApTIVETY and release them back into the wild if there in danger of becomeing exticted?

  • That's a possiblity, though we need enough breeding pairs of river dolphins, and the dolphins would have to be raised in a way in which that the dolphins would be able to survive in the wild.

  • @Twonkalaura

Well also you have to look at water conditions

some speices of river dolphin have a brain 40% bigger then a human being so they are highly intellegent and need companionship and they also may get picky to whom they mate with very much so like alot of intellegent animals. So they focus on breeding in conservation and parks or areas in which case they have plenty of mates, food and a area to play in since all speices of dolphin love to play.

  • we definitly need to try

  • I did a report on these in 4th grade , Id toatally forgotten about them .thanks for posting .I hope science can save them somehow

  • Protest Norway's plan to capture and display endangered pink Amazon dolphins. Send a letter at website for "whale and dolphin conservation society." Click on "International" and go to 3rd story. The Boto thank you

  • SAVE THE RIVER DOLPHINS

DON'T EAT ANY ANIMALS !!!!
  • these are cool dolfins!!! too bad theres not much left

  • yo laurz, luv da song, thos river dolphins, r they a protected species or not? x

  • think so

  • Um yeah the Yangtze river is in China.

  • Am i misunderstanding you? Yangtze = China.

  • Great video. I guess most people dont realize that when a species is gone, its gone forever.

  • They're not gone yet. They are currently endagered but not extinct. When they did get claimed 'functionaly extinct' loads of sightings came up after. So they're not completely gone.

  • yeah ive heard about people seeing them. its sad though. btw, i like the song!

  • Thanx ^.^

I found it while i was rootin thu some ol' CDs.

  • Maybe 100 dolphins are left

  • I've heard of a few sightings of the river dolphin in 2007. This could be a sign that they're still out there in small numbers. They just need to be found and videoed so that they can be protected. Once they have been found, we can put pressure on the Japanese Government to make it illegal in their country to hunt and kill these animals. This could give them the chance they need
