@Frowned I am someone who grew up with blues music and have listened to and cherished it my whole life. And when I say this isnt the blues I am not speaking of Clapton or King, though King is a genuine bluesman. I am speaking of Robert Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Howlin Wolf and Little Walter among others, the men who started the sound this man is attempting to mimic. I am not saying this guy doesnt have talent, its plain to see that he does. But this isnt the true blues...

I get what you're saying, I just hate to see people turn blues music into a stuffy type of jazz snobery. What I like about blues is it's fluidity and looseness; it's a primative base and you don't have to fit into a tight category to appeal as a "true bluesman". If this is an attempt at mimicry, then all those old blues players you mentioned certainly played the cuckoo bird. They ALL copied each other and translated it through themselves. To me, that IS blues music. Maybe blues is subjective.
