I care not for the silly racial arguments happening here. This is very fascinating stuff. I must point out that a lot of damage was done by many years of civil war, not just tin mining. Going from stone to iron without a bronze era is very interesting but implies it was possibly imported technology (key word, implies). The iron smelters are more recent than the earliest terracotta figures. That takes nothing away from these people. I believe there is Much more to be found in Africa.

@MacNutz2 Cont. You can not guess at the ancient history of a region by what exists there in modern times. Like Africa, most ancient European settlements and technology has been lost to a rain forest environment. Much of Africa is new and unknown to modern archaeology. Sadly, it has not been studied in the great detail given to dryer areas in North Africa, Mesopotamia, or the Mediterranean basin.
Much to learn.
This is exciting and useful to understanding human history and development.
