It was written by Geoff Mack in Australia with Australian Towns recorded by Lucky Star then rewritten for Hank Snow with USA towns

Ironically, the description under the video acknowledges Johnny Cash, but he's actually doing an impersonation of HANK SNOW, who had the original and the huge hit with it! It's so obvious, because Snow had the distinctive nasal quality to his voice. Cash wasn't nasal at all.
