@2006goto Its possible, to fit corsair hydro coolers on GPUs but modding is required. You would get better results with a water cooler specifically for the GPU. Take a look at PNY - they make a bundle with a liquid cooled 580 if you want to go that route. Obviously, a custom loop would be better but that depends on what you want to do.
@shant it's probably a slight increase when you let them blow in, because the air is cooler which means coolant is getting cooled more, but its that small that it is not worth changing your fan setup(exhaust fans should be on top and behind, intake on the motherboard and psu doors + front and probably bottom of the case)
I have a Corsair 650D case and their is a fan selector switch on the top of the case. Should I plug all the fans there or would it be better to plug it into the pump?
@TDJP123 Either one, its up to you, they are both fan controllers. You are probably better off plugging them into the 650D fan controller because then you can control the fans from the outside of the case.
@TDJP123 I have the same case, I would advise you to plug in the fans to fan controller simply because you can control them of course, and it also allows better airflow.
what would you recomend a ASUS SARETOOTH P67 or a Intel DP67BGB3 i am having to chose between these for my custom build. which one is more user freindly for a first time overclocker.
@SingularityComputers its just im on a money constraint and i want to know what parts will the best for my level of experience whats make the sabertooth bettet then the dp67
Is that *c or *f??? You might want to include this. I am getting better result with my Ultra ChillTEC 939/AM2/AM3/775/1366 Thermal Electric Overclocking CPU Cooler with IC diamond paste. 20*c fully over loaded 30*c
Hey um... I was thinking of upgrading to a liquid cooling solution for my i7 2600k@4.8ghz. I currently have a CoolerMaster V6 GT air cooler and I get (max, 83 Celsius) in a fairly hot room (I too live in Australia) I thought liquid cooling was supposed to be a million times cooler than air cooling, why is this getting up to 80 degrees on 4.6ghz? Are there much better cooling options for a 2600k, if it's not too much trouble, could you suggest a product you know of? Thanks.
@Nintendoguy5794 You could go for one of the EK prebuilt kits or build a custom system of your own. That is the next step up from the Corsair H100. For this price, this is the best cooling you can get. Water-cooling uses air to cool the system too. Its just that it uses liquid to draw the heat away from the components and then the liquid is cooled by air. So it is limited by the room temperature, just like air cooling is.
@TheParallex Not unless you get some shorter bolts for it. Its designed to have the fins damaged upon installation. The outer fins are not used, they do not have coolant flowing through them, so it doesn't matter.
@SingularityComputers you are supposed to sandwich everthing together first before putting in the screws...Screws, Case, Fans, Radiator..in that order
@Nintendoguy5794 In my opinion this is better than ur v6 gt. Yes it is about same degrees as ur v6 and its only .2 ghz less then yours, but it does not put as much weight on the motherboard as ur v6 gt. Its safer to move around.
@MahaVakyas Yeah but it depends on the AMBIENT TEMP, the room temp. Because mine is 33C. For example if I get the result of 60C at a room temp of 33C, then with a room temp of 20C which is what most of the world is, the result would then be 47C.
Great review! I am considering picking this Corsair H100 up for my system. I am currently using the Noctua NH-D14 with my i7 990X @ 4.4GHz at a V-Core of 1.30V. The temps in Prime 95 are around 70C at full load. I would like to get 5.0GHz or at least 4.8GHz with this H100. Would the temps be this high as you've shown in the video? I am really surprised that water-cooling still keeps the temps around 80C! Is that because of your high ambient temp?
@ThePlayfulboyz - Just mount it on the back of your PC. You wont even see it once completed. It will also hold better temps being outside of the case. Ive never understood why people must have a rad mounted inside their case. Its just silly. You get better temps outside of the case and its less equipment crowding up your case air flow.
i want that gpu! lol does a push pull configuration of h100 fit inside a corsair 650d? and which way do they have to be pointing? like are they supposed to bring cool air in or hot air out?
A thorough, excellent review with no bias like some other H100 review on YouTube *cough*LavcoPrice*cough. I recently purchased one and noticed the screws would hit the fins so I took a very fine-pointed pin and shifted the ones away that would potentially get damaged.
This is probably one of the best reviews I've seen on YouTube. Well done. I've been debating between a H80 and H100. I've got to ask though, why do you live in an oven? :)
Excellent practical review! This was one of the 2 coolers I was looking at for my first build. I'd really like to use a 600T case and I've seen it with this cooler in push-pull. Given that I'm a noob, I don't understand the significance of the static pressure. What is that? I'm considering an H80 as well for the 600t and was wondering which you think would be better. I'm also looking at the Sabertooth mobo or an EVGA board and thanks for the Sabertooth review.
@cy2087 Static pressure is basically just the air pressure that the fan can generate. So in a situation where air has to go through an area of high resistance (such as a radiator with high fins per inch) a higher static pressure is necessary. I would go for the H100 over the H80.
@SingularityComputers Last time I did my test, I ran Large fft's on Prime 95 with an ambient temp of 30C "Constant" and one core maxed out at 74C running for 30 minutes. I'm just comparing the H100 to the H50 in temps. Also I have my H50 in a Push Pull configuration. By the way great video as always :) Keep up the good work!
@MrSnowmobiling I guess that shows that a push pull config will really benefit the H100 if it brings your H50 that close to my H100 results. Thats if your hardware config is the same or similar to mine. I should have tested push pull. Actually I might be able to do that, coming up.
@SingularityComputers It's actually a really good idea. It brought my temps down on my H50 10-12C adding the other fan. I think the H100 needs more airflow to really benifit from a 240mm radiator.
Nice video again Singularity, they really are improving closed loop kits. One thing i am dubious about is the stated Static Air pressure MAX figure of 7.7mm "REALLY" ?? The Triebwerk High Speed specialist Rad fans don't even get that high at 5.200-H20max. They are twice as thick and push 215.5CFMmax @ 2800rpm. When those Corsair look like stock 120mm fans, I really can not see them reaching anywhere near the Triewerk fans "EVER" Corsair don't usually lie but i smell some Bull**** there !!
Great video as always and very informative. I was wondering if a push pull fan setup would be worth it, i'm looking at putting this in a 650D on a i7 2600k in a future build i'm planning to do in a couple months. Also would it be better to exhaust out of the top of the case or pull air into the case, the back has a 120mm exhaust and the front is a 200mm intake on the 650D. Cheers!
@IamMrRagequit A push pull config will drop your load temps substantially and it will increase your overclocking potential, so it is worth doing depending on the fans you will be using. I mean you dont want too much noise, so you have to find the balance between noise and performance which is all about the fans. Have the H100 exhausting out the top and turn the 120mm fan on the back of the case around the other way so its sucking cold air in to feed the H100. The 200mm pulling air in is good too
There is some way to use this corsair to water cooling the GPU(VGA)? Or some good water cooling not too expensive?

for any one getting this cooler and worrying about destroying the fins
i have just bought it and found a way around
you need to get some washers around about the same size
i placed 3 washers for ever hole that a screw went in and its secure and it didnt destroy my rad
i will be making a video in a few days and will post as a video responce to this video
