At about the same time, I remember seeing some short films that I think the BBC used to broadcast on daytime TV. I'd be really interested in hearing from anyone who had recollections of these films. The first was a silent art film shot at the Themis solar furnace at Odeillo in the Pyrenees. The other was of a strange mechanical sculpture in a european public park. I'd really like to hear from anyone who knows anything about these films. I can be reached at paulr1234@yahoo.com.
I used to love this programme; seeing it now brings back so many happy memories. Looking at it again, there's an enormous amount of work and talent that went into making this programme.
Sadly both of these wonderful people from my TV childhood have died in the last year, television was a limited experience for 60s kids in the UK, but Vision On, all the while encompassing output to kids of differing abilities, gave us a window on art that nobody else did. I can't draw but my art appreciation certainly started here. R.I.P. Tony Hart and Pat Keysell, two more heroes gone to the Long Gallery Above
I moved from england to edmonton, canada in1976 . I was 7yrs old when we left and this brings back so many of my british memories. Still miss that time in my life. Eating porriage for breakfast and wearing a uniform at st. andrews school in rochester, kent. I love england!!
Right! Once we have sorted the banking system, perhaps Mr Thompson of the Beeb could be asked (Ever so politely) to start making childrens progs like this one again. Perhaps we could suggest that it may go some way toward reducing knife crime or something? The really clever people at the beeb, the ones with the 'wow look at me!' BA's an Phd's should be mde to listen to us Licence fee payers.
actually, someone posted a full episode from 1975. A few min. into it, the worm let loose and knocked over what they were working on and the prof. ran around like crazy.. Funny thing is, I had a vauge memory of a show that was quite silly and this thing that would fly around the room and everyone would chase after it. If it wasnt for facebook reminding me, I probably would have never remembered just what that was! Funny the distant memories that linger from childhood eh?

For a programme for the deaf, the music was great.

I don't think we realised how good TV was then...

@Tracypuk Major thanks, I've been trying to get a copy and was convinced it was a version of parchment farm by Mose Alison. Cheers
