  • MiracleToolCompany. The Boston Celtics were 39-1 that season at home, and were the best in the league. Jordan has no Pippen and no team at the time, and he took them to Double Overtime in THEIR house in the PLAYOFFS scoring 63 POINTS in a playoff game which still has never been surpassed and probably wont for a LONG TIME. Kobe's 81 on Toronto are zzz. This was a GREAT team and he chewed them up and spit them out like they were practice. The refs could barely give it to Boston Jordan was so good.

  • Wow, a LOSING performance makes the all time highlights? Celtics won this game, the series, and the championship.

  • "That was God disguised as Michael Jordan" - Larry Bird

  • still couldn't beat the 86 celtics.

  • @sumskater999 Don't hate. I'd like see you try it against one of the greatest teams of all time.

  • Wow. 63 points without taking a single three pointer. Kobe Cryant could never do that.

  • Is it me or is jordan in almost every one on the 60 greatest moments???

  • "Tonight we saw God disguised as Michael Jordan" -Larry Bird.

  • 63 points?! Wow this guy was amazing. Are you sure he isn't from another world or something?

  • @lathanbrown1 He is the greatest player of all time

  • @leethiamhock I agree with you 100% my good sir. You just don't see this everyday in the NBA...Michael Jordan really set the bar high didn't he?

  • @lathanbrown1 ya,he did,but i read a book that says mj was not the greatest, instead,it was shaq!I only agree shaq were one of the greatest, but didnt expect first.

  • Good game, sits atop the record books, but overrated IMHO. If you've seen the game, you'll recall Jordan took way too many shots for those 63, like he damn near froze the team out in the process. At no point in this game did I go "wow, that's incredible," amd Jordan has had so many other games that were.

  • con dos cojones

  • It took a double overtime for him to get 63 points though. An often overlooked detail.

  • Yeah, but he lost, only the Jordan Corporation sneaks in something like that. It is certainly a record of a different kind...most points scored in a playoff game and lost. Greatest one on one offense and defense player ever, but at best slightly above average court sense, the best he ever beat was who? Maybe Magic without Kareem? Or was it Portland or Utah or Seattle. C'mon, wakey wakey already with "God." NO WAY is he an automatic best ever, no fucking way. 86 Celts,87Lakers:Lastoftruegreats

  • Jordan had no "X" button!!!! Classic!!!!

  • According to the reporter, Jordan played the Lakers that night...

  • They've missed one game - 1995 IND ORL Game 4 Conf Finals, 4 lead changes in the last 13.3 sec with Shaq fouled out. Penny, Reggie, Smit etc best playoff game finish ever

  • @1PedroAmor do u have to write this on everyone of the videos no one cares

  • damn he had hair and they had those high shorts

  • that 1 fuking dislike

  • The footwork & body control from 0:07 to 0:15 is glorious...the fundamentals of basketball that people today just don't get

  • @az5545 what are you talking about? Dirk did made the same move in game two.

  • you see you put modern player against larry and he is destroyed

  • @DZG I believe Bird was MVP that year...

  • the celtics still swept the bulls

  • @YourNameHere136 but the Bulls still got two 3-peats

  • @500fordgt i know but i mean in this series

  • it wasnt the best team game... but dropping 63 points on one of the greatest teams of ALL TIME, on their HOME COURT and in the fucking playoffs... AMAZING.

  • larry bird doesnt like this :D

  • what a terrible decision it was to demolish that historic arena....it should have been turned to a basketball museum, so full of history it was

  • People can barely even do this sort of stuff in a video game... Jordan did it in real life.

  • rijordilous!!

  • rijordilous!!!!

  • This was plain ridiculous.

  • Its funny, I came searching for Ralph Sampson and a get a whole lotta Jordan, and it's an understatement to say that I'm amazed, Jordan is definitely a show stopper and undoubtedly most likely the best of all time :)

  • Jordan was right though, one man couldn't beat the Celtics. They still lost that game. Disgraceful that a man can put up 63 points and still lose. His team SUCKED back then.

  • The one dislike is from Danny Ainge

  • Look at Jordan being modest saying one man can't beat the celtics

  • lebron, dirk, flash, kobe, derrick.....learn history

  • 0:18 he cant hold him..

  • 63 points and not a single 3 pt FG.

  • red arbach reaction lol 0:36-0:40

  • cbnunya, great point. Kobe's 81pts DOES NOT even come close to Jordan's performance against the Celtics. Michael wouldv'e scored 120 against the raptors!!!!!

  • @blaquescarface jordan face a world champion team vs a kobe 81 against a non playoff team

  • @wordisright Yes, but who won the series?

  • 63 points and they still lose the game. Jordan was right, one man can't beat the boston celtics.

  • best shoes ever

  • :20 the he faked out the camera man

  • Pat Riley, wtf?

  • cool

  • "No one man can beat the Boston Celtics." ~ Michael Jordan

  • no wonder MJ wears MJ#1

  • Yet the Bulls still lost the game.

  • @kekoea1013 superstars or none (3-0) Jordan

  • stfu, a joke come on now son?

  • Even Heinsohn was in awe by the end of this game, and his job was basically to cheerlead the Celtics

  • He single handledly beat one of the greatest teams in NBA history. Mike is the greatest player of all time.

  • @bkruse92 Nah he still lost, but that was because his team was terrible or at least the only notable player on the team was MJ.

  • All these guys who think today's players would "athletically dominate" are delusional. Speed and power are great, but no substitute for Jordan's quickness, both on the dribble and in his release, and his ability to shoot with people in his face. Don't forget he dominated in an era when defense could be more physical and there was no restricted area (except at the end of his career)

The more I play and watch basketball, the more it's clear how good Jordan really was.

  • too bad chicago didnt win this game

  • The Pistons and the league as a whole was still very physical when Jordan started winning championships. The early 90's knicks were every bit as physical. To claim that Jordan didn't defeat the Pistons legitimately is absolutely asinine.

  • Kobes 81 was against the toronto raptors <----- they suck jordan did it against the amazing celtics so jordan is so much better

  • Anyone who says Lebron is better than Kobe or Michael is fucking stupid... Jordan stands at 1 and Kobe will stand at 2 when his career ends... Lebron will never do what Kobe and Michael have done for the nba

  • Bird vs. Jordan... jizzzzzzz

  • @BobGotHorses23 I'm a fan of the Bad Boy Pistons. Jordan complained incessantly about their play and because of his popularity, they changed a lot of the physical play rules to suit him.

Basically, I blame him for the downfall of my favorite team. Had he beaten them legitimately, I wouldn't really mind him so much.

  • No. The Bad Boy Pistons was using the Jordan Rules to Beat Jordan. But when the Bulls had enough, Phil Jackson used the Triangle Offense to Counter the Bad Boys and it worked. a 4 game sweep.

    Basically.

Jordan Rule + Pistons > Jordan + Bulls

Jordan Rule + Pistons < Triangle Offense + Jordan + Bulls

  • @Mamba219

You're an idiot. Jordan beat them legitimately. By 1991 the Bulls were the better team. Pippen and Grant had both developed. Pippen into a superstar and grant into one of the best power fowards in the league. Jordan complained because they were cheap shot artists. Very good, very tough, but also cheap shot artists. Jordan took them apart in 1991 and it had nothing to do with him complaining.

  • larry bird- "That was god disguised as Michael Jordan"

  • @danderson87 Larry would never say somehting like that... wheres the proof?

  • @TheMoparDrvr he did say that. read the article and look it up online.

  • @EyeLoveTheStars yea he did..... i found it which is bullshit cause i dnt think MJ is so far outa birds league.... MJ was an amazing athlete and Bird wasnt in any way yet did more amazing things in my eyes... BIRD U BETTER WTF!

  • @TheMoparDrvr lmao well it was just respect for MJ. As competitive as bird was I'm sure he didn't mean it as some kind of worship/comment you know. Just respect. Just a figurative term of hyperbole on his part. :P

In my opinion, bird was just as influential as MJ. People forget that Bird (along with Magic) helped to revitalize the NBA in the 80's. Before then the NBA had lost many of its viewing public due but they brought it back to life so to speak with their dazzling style of play.

  • @EyeLoveTheStars yup... there Where 4 major turning points / Era's in Basketball..... The Bill Russel Era/ Dr.J/ BirdMagic / Then Lastly MJ

  • @TheMoparDrvr Actually, I would put it as the 60's were Bill Russell vs. Wilt Chamberlain. The 70's were a little divided because they had the ABA and NBA. You had Dr. J owning the ABA and Kareem owning the NBA. Bird and Magic clearly owned the 80's. Then MJ owned the 90's. So, I pretty much agree with you.

  • you can also argue.. that white america didnt want to see a bunch of blacks dominate a sport... they wanted to see the great white hope battle the flashy LA magic so to speak lol...... but yea NBA did a great job in selling the Celtic LA rivalry during that era

  • @TheMoparDrvr you're actually dead on. I watched a special on Magic and Bird. It spoke about their influence during the 80's and there WAS a whole black and white propaganda. They spoke about how Nike came out with shoes for both bird and magic and there was commentary on how black kids wore magic's shoes and white kid's wore bird's shoes. The NBA did sell the black and white image. very well:P

  • @EyeLoveTheStars yup amazing documentary *A CourtShip of Rivalry*.... pretty much white kids in LA would wear larrys shoes and black kids in boston would wear magics shoe, thats how good the NBA did to sell up the rivalry... but we wouldnt have the nba they way we have it today if it wasnt for that.

  • @TheMoparDrvr lmao yeah well we probably would have it it would jsut be like hockey, only a select group of people would watch it lol =p wouldn't have universal appeal ..

  • @EyeLoveTheStars ...then Jordan came along and made EVERY kid want to "be like Mike."

  • @BobGotHorses23 Yea i noticed that too

  • @boogster714 lmao. how old are you ? you dare to compare raptors to celtics ?

  • GOAT

  • 21 seconds haha, how the hell do you defend that?

  • this should be in the top 10 not the shot that won #6

  • I hate that the producers of these videos take sound bites and images from other videos and insert them in. I have counted over a dozen times where they have done this. The moments stand up on their own without that.

  • Regular seasons games are for boys, playoffs are for men.

    That's the difference.

  • wdfffff that is sick! um theehibachi, do you want to learn the secret to dunking? You'll definitely want to take a look at this - 50inch vertical[dot]com

    NBA's 60 Greatest Playoff Moments: #10 aqnidbqqwqfjymcgvp mrwparzf #theehibachi

  • This performance is hilariously overrated. #10?! It's only ranked this high because it's Michael Jordan. At the end of the day, all it led to was a Bulls loss and eventual sweep. Might as well put Sleepy Floyd's 29 point 4th quarter at #9 then - at least his team won the game against the eventual champs.

  • @TheBrainMachine78 YEah, but your missing the point. This was the start of the Messiah!! This is where it started, my little man! This was a glipse on what was going to unfold for Basketball! You are dead clueless guy. This game was important to Basketball and what it did for Basketball. Jordan clearly made everyone in the world know who the NBA was!

  • Jesus christ you guys are idiots, Phil Jackson said so himself that Kobe is as competative as Michael is. Yes this was in the playoffs, it went in overtime though and they bulls still lost. Yes Kobes 81 was in a regular season, but lakers were losing and kobe brought them up and they won. Also defense is alot diffrent now adays its a lot better. If Kobe or Lebron(I hate lebron) played in the 80s or 90s they would of been alot better than they are now. I love MJ but still stop living in the past.

  • @JLPLikesPS3 WTF!!! Hall of Famers Bird,Mchale,Parish,Dj couldnt stop the Greatest in the playoffs kobe scored 81 on who?Phil Jackson is not gonna say that Jordan is better he is not an idiot kobe is playing 4 him but he knows MJ is the best.Jordan could only do so much against 1 of the best teams ever, kobe beat the worst team in the league that year.defense is worst nowadays u cant handcheck u have 3 seconds in the key rule no more physical defense wtf u talking bout

  • the bulls head coach looks like a president from the 1800s

  • The Celtics still actually won this game.

  • @natedaug1 swept the series in fact.

  • theehibachi, is 5 7, white and could dunk. what do you mean white men can't jump? It's simply about the training people do to get their particular leg strength to be strong enough to dunk. For me, I just used the exercising program over at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com |

    NBA's 60 Greatest Playoff Moments: #10 ifflvzcgs osvysusespdub #theehibachi

  • This was the playoffs. Kobe got 81 in a regular season game against a non-defensive team. Jordan got 61 in the playoffs, after 82 game season, against the best team in the NBA. Thats like Kobe getting 61 on the Celtics in the finals. Not going to happen.

  • 5 diff superb shots all in #10

  • This does not belong here, and sure as hell not at Number 3. Jordan's team lost. It doesn't matter how many points you score if your team loses. The Michael Jordan worship in the basketball media is sickening. The good Laker and Celtic teams of the 80s would have taken his Bulls apart.

  • @dadamson21 I agree on the media worship, and I agree that it's silly to lionize a 63 point game by a player whose team got swept. It's the same kind of media worship that has morons saying LeBron was the best player in the '07 Finals when his team got swept and he led all players in turnovers in all four games.

That said, I think it's hard to say how the Bulls would've done in the 80s. Jordan was a much better team player in the 90s than he was in the 80s. They might've won a ring or two.

  • @StiltMonster You can thank Nike for a lot of that too. I mean "Air" Jordan... really? Sounds kind of lame 20 years later huh? but everyone was eating that crap up in the late 80's. He couldn't win shit besides rigged slam dunk contests (think all star game Chicago) and scoring titles but people were already saying he was better than Magic or Bird.

  • @r1cw So averaging 28.8ppg as a rookie, second year scoring 63 on the best team in the league in the playoffs, the third year avg37.5ppg and scoring 3,000 points in a season (the only player aside Chaimberlain to do it) is not worthy of being considered better than magic or bird even though neither bird or magic had never done this? Why wouldnt people say he was better u sound like a bitter kobe fan oh well no one will ever topple the G.O.A.T. not in this lifetime

  • @dafoo28 In the 80's he had not done enough yet but some people were already crowning him the best.Look at Dominiquies numbers during the same period 85-89 very similar.People like you get to hung up on how many points players score. If we go by your logic Wilt is the GOAT and MJ eats his dust.He avg 50pts for a whole season once. But for most of us it takes a complete game including winning. And I'm talking about the 80's Jordan not his whole career.

  • @r1cw 80's Jordan did it all except win a title he was nba mvp,all star mvp, slam dunk champion, scoring champion, steals champion & defensive player of the year tell me who else did dat? Wilt never avg 41.5 ppg in the finals he never avg33.4 ppg in the playoffs never scored 63 in a playoff game so if its about points wilt bites the dust

  • @dafoo28 If its all about points you need a history lesson.Wilt as a rookie avg 37.6 vs jordan 29.He scored 58 pts in a game as a rookie. He has 188 games scoring over 50 points. Avg. 50.4 for a season. He scored over 60pts 32 times vs Jordan only 5. And 3 of Jordans were overtime games.Wilt holds a staggering 72 nba records. No one comes close. My point is that Jordans rise was due as much to marketing and media hype as it was by his skills.By the time he retired the hype was all proven true.

  • No, it isn't. Bird and Magic were MVPs, great all around players and winners. Better passers and rebounders than Mike ever was, especially when Jordan was in his third year in the league.

  • @TheBrainMachine78 That right bird is a forward and magic is taller than jordan they suppose to out rebound jordan

  • @wordisright Jordan's superior athletic ability should make up the height disadvantage, no? He's Jesus H Christ in sneakers, no?

  • @r1cw Air??LOL That is why kids in 2010 stay in line for 10 hours to buy some 40yr old man shoes!!! You are clearly in denial man. You running around bashing Jordan talking about how the media manipulated the people is just plain stupid. People in 1999 knew Ronaldiho would become the next Maradona of futbol, the same with Messi when he was 13yrs old in the Barcelona academy, what's your point?? There's people who can see talent when they see it, sorry you have no gift! :)

  • @hushg2000 read my last sentence. "by the time he retired the hype was all proven true." And my point is still true, good marketing (Nike) perpetuates the myth status. Some times they get it right some times they don't (ala Reggie Bush) And MJ wasn't even taken first in the draft. He wasn't even the best player on his team when NC won its national championship. There is a HUGE difference between recognizing talent and crowning someone the BEST of all time before their time.

  • why hate on kobe? what does he have to do with this

  • you're fucking dumb if you think LeBron wouldn't DESTROY in the 80's

  • @AlbertTransom Um, dude... JORDAN didn't destroy in the 80s, what chance do you think LeBron would have? He was 0-for-life against Bird in the playoffs and didn't see his first finals until after Bird's back was shot and the Pistons got too old to stop him too.

  • @StiltMonster I'm talking physically, understand? He's way better athletically than ANYBODY from that time.

  • @AlbertTransom Is he? More athletic than Jordan? Dr. J? Even if I gave you this, who cares? In basketball IQ he's a mental midget next to Magic, Bird, and Bill Russell; probably the only guy playing today who isn't is Duncan, and maybe Kobe on a good night when he's not either (a) chucking up 30 shots to get 30 points or (b) going petulant and refusing to shoot at all when people take him to task for (a). The city of LA has a pact to forget this ever happens; '04/'08 are like a blank to them.

  • sorry but 63 points against the Celtics in 1986 in the playoffs is muuuuuuuuuuch better than 81 against the Raptors in 2006 in a season game any day

  • @SCYTH3S you forgot that this was a overtime game... oh wait that means Jordan had more time to score less point than Kobe too. But it still better right!?!

  • theehibachi dude, what else is there to say?.

Anyone who owns a basketball need to all know the way to dunk, I simply just not too long ago completed the training program over at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) - I wish I did it sooner (I'm just 5'8!)

  • theehibachi damm, I improved over 15 inches on my jump by finishing the workout at 50 inch vertical (dot) com. now being being the shortest kid on court is the least thing I have to worry about in basketball finally, heh

  • "I don't think one man can beat the Boston Celtics." Jordan had that right; the Bulls lost to the Celtics 135-131 in double overtime. A memorable game though.

  • Let's see the Michael Jordan of 1986 score 81 on the bigger, faster, stronger NBA players of the 21st century.

  • @AlbertTransom Yes. The bigger faster strong NBA players of the 21st century who DON'T PLAY DEFENSE.

Kobe couldn't even score 30 on this Celtics team.

  • @kklol7 you are a fool. the NBA players of the past would get dominated athletically speaking by the men of today

  • @AlbertTransom. Look I agree the NBA pre 1990s would have no shot at the greater athletes from 1990s-present. I get sick of people saying that 1986 Celtics team is the greatest team ever. The 1996 Bulls (with a better MJ may I add) would beat them for sure. They were more athletic and much better Defensively.

  • @JZ2001JC 1996 teams was a BEAST YEAR FOR THE NBA

  • @AlbertTransom haha.. You don't know anything about basketball.. hahaha

  • @GemZel16 what the hell do you know?

  • @AlbertTransom a thing or two you certainly don't

  • @GemZel16 Don't bullshit me. I know my NBA history, boy. You're all talk.

  • @AlbertTransom yeah, right.. LOL

  • @GemZel16 Exactly. You don't have shit, stop fronting.

  • @AlbertTransom whatever you say dude.. fronting.. look who's talking.. hahaha..

  • @AlbertTransom The 80's players where better shortie. How old are you anyway. If you where born in the 90's. This is my last comment to you. There where no Dwight Howards in the 80's Shortie.

  • @TerrorTown7575 im 12 fag

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID# If you play basketball, you gotta check out - 50inch vertical[dot]com. it s highly recommended! I m 5 6 and started dunking quickly after 2 months of the training!

    NBA's 60 Greatest Playoff Moments: #10

  • What made this more impressive is that Mike did this against a championship winning team that went and NBA record 40-1 at home during the regular season. Jordan comes in and drops 63 at their place in the playoffs.

I don't know if a first round loss can be considered a top 10 performance though.

  • theehibachi crazy, I increased past 12 ins on my jump by finishing the training course over at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com |. now being being shorter than everyone else is nothing I have to be anxious about in basketball finally, lol

    NBA's 60 Greatest Playoff Moments: #10

  • theehibachi awesome vid, reminds me of someone I know - me - just kidding. I'm 5 7 and I can windmill dunk. I used the real nba workout plan that pro players including Kobe Ray Allen and Areans used. If you want more info about the program, check out - 50 inch vertical (dot) com

  • yo, crazy plays. theehibachi I particularly like the end =) Can you believe I trained enough to start dunking! I just used the a real training program at 50 inch vertical (dot) com and made it in just 6 weeks

    NBA's 60 Greatest Playoff Moments: #10

  • This is the game where ,when Bird was asked about MJ's performance, said,"that was God -disguised as Michael Jordan"...

  • wats the name of the song playing during all the videos?

  • Comment removed

  • I have all the respect for Jordan and his accomplishments.

Having said that, I think it is absolutely absurd to believe that the Bulls would've won 8 titles in a row had he not retired.

I could make a similar absurd comment about how the Rockets could have beaten the Bulls in the 93 finals and won 3 titles in a row had this or that happened differently in that game 7 overtime loss to Seattle.

Disregarding Olajuwon's accomplishments in the Rockets' championship seasons is equally absurd!

  • Can't compare Anyone to this man. he's just unbelievable

63pts ON NBA LEGEND LARRY BIRD AND A CHAMPION CONTENDING TEAM

    Only Mike man Only Mike

  • larry bird sit down its jordans Time!

  • Kobe's 81 was like a joke compared to this. I don't even like Jordan but this is clearly an obscene performance.

  • @Mamba219 It was an obscene performance considering it's against the 86 Celtics.

  • @sarnow76 Yup you can't compare their defense to the Raptor's where Kobe scored 81pts

  • @Mamba219 how could you not like jordan,..

  • @Mamba219 The second highest scoring performance in NBA history is a joke? lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @ichangpapa 63 points vs best team in the NBA on their home court in the playoffs. these were THE 1986 Celtics. they were 40-1 at home all season. kobe's 81 points were against one of the worst teams in the NBA.

  • @cbnunya I never argued whether or not the '06 Raptors were better than the '86 Celtics. Scoring 81 points against ANYONE is far from "a joke," and it's simply idiotic for someone to label that performance as such, as if anyone in the league could do it. Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game was against a Knicks team that finished 29-51 that year, yet no one calls that a joke?

  • @ichangpapa that's because 100 points in one game against any team is amazing,

  • @cbnunya kobe also scored 62 in 3 quarter! He sat the fourth! Any high point total is amazing dog

  • @InduSingh007 against a terrible Dallas team. Mike did this against one of the top 5 teams of all time... in the playoffs.

  • @cbnunya

    kobe got more 18 points

  • @leong526 "kobe got more 18 points"

    Retarded are you

  • @cbnunya in a regular season game,lmfao kobe's 81 is nothing to this 63.

  • @Mamba219 i agree, kobe vs raptors or jordan vs celtics (jordan 1 kobe 0), regular season or playoffs (jordan 2-0, jordan wins)

  • At least Kobe WON that game where he scored the 81 points!

  • @tatomuck18

Even Kobe himself said he's nothing compare to MJ

I am not a Kobe fan but I respected what Kobe said, he showed some respect.

Ironic, you as his fan failed to understand such a simple thing.

  • @RealHipHopHere You A Dum Ass Jordan Never Even Sored 81 Points In His Whole Career Dont Compare Kobe's 81 Point Performance Over This Come On!

  • @wavyboy89 LOL I never said he scored 81. So who's the dumbass haha

  • bird deserved the mvps he won,his teams were in the finals 5 out of 7 years, when you averaging like 25 points a game,10 rebounds,6 assists,2 steals, who the hell else is doing that back then
