  • *Sigh....if America were TRULY a Christian nation as the world supposes, then THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY WAR IN THE FIRST PLACE. What is going on isn't a war for any ideal, for any atrocities being committed; its for resources and only resources. The government could care less about their own spiritual nature and their ethical posture. Jesus didn't stand for earthly governments. We all know that...right?

  • This guy did the right thing by refusing to serve in immoral and unlawful wars. Too bad so few US military have the strength of character and intellect to do same.

  • i never understood the ultra right-wing christian supporting these murderous wars. I used to be a muslim and we know how much moohamed masturbated over war but based on christianity and the bible i don't think jesus would be for war, he would be seen as ghandi using peaceful methods to achieve his/her goal. Either way 1+ million dead, its a fucked up world, maybe i should have supported the war and started my own church in texas and become rich!!

  • The life people choose to lead is their own path and after being in I have seen alot of what is wrong with the Army and the military in general. I am getting out on CO as well. Its hard but the fight just lives on and continues to make me better and I will be a better person once I get out of the service...

  • Contact the American Center for Law and Justice. ACLJ. jay seculo? spelling. anyway, he represents the needs of christains.

  • Some people don't realize the significance of joining. They join knowing they could be deployed because they believe something about war they come to realize later isn't true. Being in the military just a little while can teach a person how full of lies the system is. It takes getting face-to-face with them that makes you want out.

  • One does not have to be a Christian to be a CO. Its the Christians who are starting this damn war in Iraq. America is a warrior nation, not a Xtian nation.

  • You do not have to be a Christian to object to killing, howver A Christian should object to war. I am a veteran myself but today would not serve, I have three sons and by all means I will encourage them to seek CO status if needed. But people of all faiths and those of no faith should also object to war.

    Peace

Wow sir! You deserve ten stars for this ... Your kids must be very proud of u! kudos X10!

  • Thanks! I hope they are, I know i'm proud of them.

  • why join in the firstplace? you know that theres an eventualpossability of having to go to combat. he just wasted hundreds of thousands of tax payers dollars for his training.

  • I enlisted in the USMC after high school, I think when we are young we are much more vulnerable to false outcomes. Like this guy, I didnt object to the cause when I enlisted, and now one year into my contract, I strongly oppose all use of violence. I guess I am just saying when we are young maybe we don't fully appreciate the possible consequences of our decisions, I know I sure didnt. I am one year into my contract. I am in the infantry.

  • Objecting is very good. Even be Christian is ok. But the two things may be not linked. I mean I am objector and agnostic.

  • Oh yes, like you have to be a Christian to object to killing people.
