just think of how much development he has missed by never playing. he could've been a worldbeater by now. But the reality is that he has missed loads of development, is extremely injury ridden, has a high salary compared to how much he plays, and needs a few games in after he returns to get into stride.
Is that affordable? I dont think so... as talented as he is, there are others who can give arsenal so much more.
@FameAU Thats exactly what i think as well! He's never had the chance to get into his stride, like van persie is now, because of all his injuries, JUST like van persie :(
He would've been one of our most prized posessions if it wasnt for Sunderlands Dan Smith's tackle in 2006....hope he will get his fitness back....but somehow I doubt it
@cwdcomps could you upload? is.. like the song an the video is simply perfect, a gunner from the chilean country will thank you so much (yes, they are a few gunners here, almost all are from the manu)
i feel sorry for abou diaby. all those injuries really fucked him up as he was young. when he is fit he is definetley much better than darren fletcher, carrick, andrerson lucas, charlie adam and joey barton
i suggest we keep him - look at hargeaves and van persie! ull never know when an injury-prone player will become fit! plus this guy is an obvious asset he performed well for france in 2010 world cup but ill not sure where he can fit in with the likes of wilshere, ramsey, arteta vying for similar positions
i know fifa 12 isn't a real representation of the actual player.....but if he was fit and playing 30+ games a season he would be so much higher rated in the game..... i watch this vid and wonder how players like charlie adam, joey barton, fletcher are rated better than him.
Awesome all around player!! Reminds me a lot of Viera except more skillful and I really want him to be more in action more but he gets injured sooo easily.
Our strength in depth is starting to show with the injured players coming back, and even with 2 of our RB injured(Sagna, Jenkinson) the fact that we still have another two players(Kozzi, Djourou) to fill that spots just shows the depth in the squad this season.
i feel really bad for him as he is a strong, powerful player, he can be like vieira but he is seriously unlucky. 27 injuries in 4 years. but he can be a incredible player if he is not injured and gets a run in the team
Ask any manager he's worked under and they all say that he's one of the most talented midfielder they have worked with
But seriously as a fan we have only seen flashes of his brilliance and if its because of his leg break then I feel sorry for the guy but he either needs to perform this season or we need to sell him.
He's had 27 injuries in his last 3 years hasn't played more than 10 games without being injured.
He either performs or he should be sold a lot like Eduardo
@indaks007 Sometimes it takes a little patience , he's a great player , just need's to be injury free . Look at VP , he's been brilliant . Also some fans and haters have to realize that Diaby is a midfielder (a pretty good one) .
Remember it is Wenger that created the Invincible s , have a little FAITH in his judgement if not your own .
@indaks007 Look at RVP's injury record and match record before last season. Kinda the same trend, but we had patience with him and look how it has paid off. A little bit of patience with Diaby wouldn't hurt; especially since he actually performs well when he plays unlike Eduardo who had lost all confidence and played badly after the injury, which is why he was sold. He wasn't sold because he got injured a lot, he was sold because he never recovered and started playing badly
@indaks007 Eduardo's case was different. During his spell injured we changed from a 4-4-2 to a 4-4-3 and Eduardo wasn't comfortable anywhere in the system - unable to influence the game from the front and distinctly uncomfortable out wide. It didn't take him long to find form again after his move to Donetsk. Diaby is the kind of player that Arsenal have been desperately missing over the last few months, with the flair and technique to link the deeper-lying Song and Arteta with RvP.
this man have skills, but never really got to shine with injuries and all. Lets hope like RvP, his injury days are over! Arsenal for Champions League title!
One of the best technical players around. problem is injuries. i cant wait for him to be back. he is not the only 1 to blame for the 4-4 draw with Newcastle last year.
I love Abou Diaby. He can be a really all round athletic performer both on and off the ball, and his height is another thing to add.
His skill on the ball for a tall man is brilliant and you're 100% right about him being forgotten. He'll bring back so much possibilities when he gets fit.
*I've got a feeling he reacted against Joey Barton the way he did because of some hard challenges on him in some games before that in that season. Not that I agree with the reaction*
i remember when everyone were saying diaby and song will never have a place at arsenal... many now say diaby will never have a place at arsenal... maybe he won't, but he could also become an irreplaceable arsenal player, wenger wouldn't have bought him if he doesn't believe it... and besides i really like him and IMO he was never forgotten, can't wait to see him back... and he isn't the one to blame for the 4-4, shithead dowd is...
diaby = super talent + bad luck , even when he was fit , he didn't get his chance regularly in the middle , wenger used to play him on the wings & he doesn't have the pace to play there !!!
I think I'm one of the few gooners who still like him alot. I'd love the gooners to forgive him about the 4-4... It was whole team (bad) performance. It's frustrating because he's always injured. The French Robben...
really elegant graceful skilful player. should be in our first team when fit.

Diaby should work on 3 things:
1. Fitness: barely played in the last 3 years.
2. Passing: sometimes he keeps the ball for too long and gives away possession cheaply.
3. Tackling: makes hasty tackles at the center of the pitch and picks up unnecessary red cards.
logicbloke 2 months ago

Diaby impressive in his last two games coming on as a sub. We've scored after he came on in both situations.
ZineAFC 3 months ago
Diaby is back from injury, came of the bench against Dortmund & Fulham played good, we have good back up centrally now,
DM - Song, Frimpong, Coquelin
CM - Wilshere, Arteta, Diaby
AM - Ramsey, Rosicky, Benayoun
------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been backing Arshavin so much, but I cant any more, its not his fault doe he is not a winger, he is an AM or sell him,
NOW WE NEED A WINGER, ''HAZARD''
''Walcott - Gervinho'', ''Chamberlain - Miyaichi''
