Yes you should ! ;) I sold my Jupiter 8 when I got hold of the Synthex. The Jup is a great synth but only had room for one big analogue poly and the Synthex blew the Jup away.
I've heard this mentioned a few times so have just downloaded the demo. Other than for the design of the panel and obvious association in name, it's a very poor VST if designed to emulate a Synthex. Just listen to the JMJ laser harp sound ! It's terrible. It has some nice sounds in there and sure it's probably a decent soft synth (?) but a Synthex it's not and actually a poor attempt at one at first impression.
@JMPSynth i agree, i hate it but thats because ive heard both. If i had not heard a synthex i would have been none the wiser. I own a synthex, would i sell it and buy XILS and a car or similar. No way, i would rather eat beans on toast for an entire year than not have a synthex
i have owned the synthex for about 3 weeks now and it has changed my life. Theres some magic in here, something i cant explain. I had to pay a small fortune for it which was a massive risk. Im glad i trusted my heart and took that risk, this synth takes me in and out of this world and to be without it now would be like losing my soul. I will never sell this beautiful machine. If anyone has a chance to get one and cant afford it, sell your car and take to the sky
In 1984 I was 10 and got £1 pocket money. My parents needed to win the pools to buy me the synthesizer that made the sounds I wanted! I got a Casio VL1 which put me off. I didn't know about Prophets, Moogs etc, I only found out on YT last year. They were CHEAP when I was skint! Everything I like is £2,000 now. If I could have one, I would pick this or a Prophet 5. Kawai SX240 is much cheaper.
@Xio49 Sorry mate, I don't own the rights to it so I can't give it out. I was the preset designer and one of the beta testers... The original creator took off and left us with this and told us never to release it...
yep imho the SYNTHEX is king at pads and strings, Iv'e not heard another synth be it analogue, hybrid or digital that can sound so lush, powerfull and direct as this machine, thanks for sharing
The stereo outs (L & R) just split the voices, four to each output - useful if in split mode. You got the balance set correctly? I use a single mono output (L) for all eight voices to sound through (switch set to mono) in all modes.
God! These pads are fantastic. Good programing and good playing... The sound on 4:58 only a powerful amazing synth could make. Congrats on having one of these...
Every freaking time I hear this I am half tempted to rename my Jupiter 8 piggy bank... Elka Synthex Piggy Bank!

Now there's a happy owner ! Don't dwell on the cost of it, the value of these is only going one way. Just keep it tip top and enjoy :)

@cprostudio I can't, I've got an NHS staff bus pass!

Nooooo ! :) We've all done it, passing on things like these and a Jup 8 for a few hundred quid when digital was all the rage. Madness...

Thanks. It's one of many reverb presets built into a Behringer UB2222FX - PRO Mixer.
