  • @onebighoe who cares ?

  • Your cat got more comments than the motherboard :)

  • I've recently bought this motherboard and it is defective!!!!! I'm contacting newegg staff to get it exchange.

  • will a XFX Radeon 6970 work (and fit) with a P6X58D-E struggling to make sure it will before i buy any help is apreciated.

  • I installed 24GB of RAMs, but BIOS and Windows 7 64-bit read only 16GB... Is there any solution to make BIOS reads full 24GB... Thanks

  • @canonixus1 try to adjust down these RAMs' speed to solve the problem

  • @canonixus1 well you have to hae an intel core i7 extreme for full 24GB use. The standard edition should only be able to handle 12-16 GB

  • @canonixus1 It's because you're on Home Premium. Home Premium and starter both have RAM limits on 64 bit (16GB for Home Premium, not sure about Starter). Professional and upwards have limits of 192GB. All 32-bit versions have limits of 4GB.

  • Dude could I have your cat? He is so awesome, ickle biddy munchkin. :D

  • @MCLRproductions It supports a gtx590, you do the math

  • OMG, your cat is so cute!

  • Quick Question in teh unboxing i didnt see a Crossfire Bridge does it come with one?

  • no motherboard is nice!

    Your cat is niiice :D

  • @MCLRproductions NO! YES! NO! YES!

  • Asus is Officially pronounced "A-Zues"

  • Awesome review, I'm thinking of upgrading my rig. This seems perfect.

  • ah shit, I lost that plastic cover thing that is on the cpu slot with the mobo. Can I not get my mobo refunded for a new one now?

  • I really wish someone would make a "How to pronounce brands" video. What you call asoos I call AySUS.

  • @99macca I used to pronounce it as you do until I saw a commercial for the brand some time back. It was pronounced same way as Linus pronounces it. I'd have to assume that's the correct way. Who would sign off on an advertising campaign if the voice over guy they hired was mangling the pronunciation of their esteemed brand name?

  • @554466551 Ahh I see, Thanks (y)

  • whats better the d-e or the d-premium

  • omg... i was looking around my house for my cat thinking it was trapped in a room or something dam that tech kitty of yours!!

  • Is that motherborad better then ASUS SABERTOOTH X58 ?

  • Comment removed

  • @LukeSambrooks1 Dude Sandy-bridge processors use LGA1155 sockets.... This is a LGA1366 Socket motherboard. :)

  • check out mytech411 {d0t] c0m

  • Correct me if i'm wrong, but is the white pci-e slot only 8x?

  • is their turbo v overclocking software any good

  • jumpers are for alternative cmos, i think

  • wow on 5:00 your can still types doesn't his hand hurt?!

  • 5:05 your cat types like JET!

  • hey linus, what monitor is that ?

    how do find it ?

  • Would an Intel i7 980X work well with this motherboard? Would Asus' Sabertooth be better? What about the GA-X58A UD3R. No over clocking here, just looking for a stable motherboard! Thanks!

  • by the look of the cpu slot, and the 32nm capabilities newegg says it has, is this motherboard ready for sandbridge? o_o

  • @bazook1935

    Common man, don't be stupid.

''Sandy bridge'' = just another expensive hoax.

  • Comment removed

  • for you information, the intel core i5 2500-k (sandy bridge processor) is nearly as powerful as the intel i7 980x and is $800 cheaper. Expensive eh? I think not.

besides, how is intel's latest processor a hoax? Google sandy bridge and see what ya get.

  • excellent review~! Thanks a lot

  • does the cat comes whit the motherboard?

  • @GameReviewsOnly Of course!

  • great review mate

  • what would you recomend asus p6x58d-e or gigabyte x58a-ud3 motherboards for not a hard core gaming machine but a ok gaming machine.

  • @kingElie101 asus one, and its a really good motherboard.

  • really nice cat!

  • baby blue box is ugly

  • 4:10 Holy crap, your cats type really fast!

  • @elpedomasgrande1 lols ya his cat is auinstine

  • Cat !!!!! kkkkkkkk

  • What are the differences between this and the premium version?

  • the jumpers are for over volting the ram my rams voltage was to high it turns out i had to short those jumpers to get the higher voltage for my ram.

  • hey can i work it with dual graphics card ?

  • @hongkong57 ofcourse even with three

  • @agaathtroy ya but i am talking about the ati hd 5970 graphics card

  • @hongkong57 jep works with that to

  • @poepsunom ok thanks bud

  • WINNING Combination- ASUS INTEL - chance to fly to Mauritius - check asus.in

  • pet the sata

  • cats are pretty awesome lol

  • what the diference between ASUS P6X58D PREMIUM, X58, 6D3, 3PCIEX16

    and ASUS P6X58D-E ???

  • @andrejivan The difference is: P6X58D PREMIUM has two more heatpipes, so better cooling, more accessories, express gate (P6X58D-E does not), 2 more USB ports at the back, clear cmos switch, 2 Lan ports and fancier packaging.

  • @Dantenv has express gate. has clr cmos switch inside. and fk packaging

  • @gymfreak0 yeah, my bad about the cmos switch, and express gate witch btw is useless I have a P6T deluxe and I newer used it.

  • @Dantenv haha yeah i have the X58D-E board. and i disabled Express Gate. Pointless.

but it over-clocks great. 4.2 on air with HT enabled.

  • @andrejivan the premium has an extra onboard network card i believe, does not justify the excessive price tag though.

  • lol he has a cat.

  • @ManiacalMarlboroMan

Thats no cat, thats a leopard!

  • Err, why does he call it "a-soos"? Isn't it "eh-sus". Everyone I know in every computer store I've been to or worked at called it "eh-sus".

  • @beayn

because that is how Taiwanese people pronounce it. And yes, Asus is a Taiwanese company.

  • @beayn , because that's what the Company actually calls itself 'a-soos"

Everyone I know calls it 'a-sus' too, but that doesn't make it right.

    ASUS is pronounced 'A-SOOS'

Give 'em a call and that's how they'll answer the phone too.

  • @Prophet776 Then they should have hired an english person to sound out the spelling and properly spelled it Asoos if that's how they wanted it pronounced.

  • @beayn That makes no sense, you are trying to have them spell it Phoenetically for the English language, and yet most English words aren't spelt phonetically anyway.

'House' is not 'Howse', 'Boat' is not 'Bote', 'Phone' is not 'Fone' or 'Foan' etc. etc. etc. etc.

And as wtfpwnage said, they are Taiwanese, I'm sure they weren't thinking "How will English speaking people say this?" when they created the company.

I wasn't having a go at you, was just telling you how it was actually pronounced.

  • @Prophet776 You just quoted rules of spelling in English, which was exactly my point. Name a word in which a u by itself with no e on the end is pronounced 'oo' and does not have an umlaut above it. I can't think of any. Pool is not spelled Pul for example. Most of the English rules are very rarely broken.

Everyone I know and have ever met says "A-sus" based on English rules. This vid is the first time I've heard "asoos". Why wouldn't you want your company name pronounced properly?

  • @beayn Aw look mate, I don't really care.

Some people say 'Sonee' some say 'So-Knee'

The fact is, they aren't english speaking as their primary language, they named their company what they wanted to, and they pronounce it how they want to. If that's what it's called then that's what it's called.

Call them whatever you want, doesn't bother me and I'm sure it doesn't bother them.

You asked a question, I just thought I'd answer it, not to argue. Simple equation, Question, Answer.

    The End.

  • I would of liked a few other things on the board, E-Sata on the back I/O, the P6T cooling system, not only did it look cooler, but I think it would of done a nicer job, and this is purely for looks, but I wish that the board was Black / Orange colour scheme instead of blue/ light blue.

  • Linus you need to do an unboxing video of one of your cats........complete with features, pros, cons and other little neat things.

  • Anyone know if this board with the Hyper 212+ CPU heatsink will physically fit G.Skill RipJaw RAM??

  • OMG I love your videos!! I was watching some tiger direct videos and they just sucked. Seems like everything they say is scripted. I love how you just wing it and when you run into things you aren't sure about, you admit it and don't bullshit your way through it. Your also my neighbor across the sea! Go Vancouver!! lol

  • Is the cat shaking the camera? :D

  • Anyone know if the motherboard's box came with some kind of tamper-proof sticker(s)? Mine didn't, just curious.

  • Unlimited energy sources are out there! But Elite controllers don't want ppl to be free from the costs of energy,Get a motor that works with the power of magnets only at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the energy revolution!

  • Cat attacks!

  • nice cat :-) can l have it??

  • this or rampage iii gene

  • @F4H33M97 Well Rampage III gene is micro ATX and not ATX.

IMHO - and only IMHO! - you should go for a Rampage only if you bought a high-end CPU like the Intel i7 Extreme 980X. If you deal with any other "conventional" i7, 920, 950, 960 etc... you shouldn't go for a Rampage. Rampage are for extreme, extreme overclocker geeks who really want to OC to the max the most powerful CPU available. Not to mention that Rampage III + 980X + extreme cooling system is 4 times more expensive.

  • which 2000MHz 6GB kit ram are supported?

  • @CRYPTfromCATACOMBZ

    corsair[dot]com

  • There is one factual error in this video that one should be aware of. The guy claims that this board supports "ALL" i7 and i7 Extreme processors. That of course can't be true, because the i7-800 series of processors are designed for the LGA 1156 socket. Just so you know I was paying attention.

  • what breed cat is that???????????

  • @719OG bengal cats

  • Hey, can you use the 1st and 3rd pci-e slots so that you can still use the regular pci slot?

  • If i'll use the first and the third PCI-E slot for a dual SLI setup, will i get 16x / 16x or 8x / 8x bandwith? I know that the second slot supports x16 but I'm not sure if the third does...

  • i had this motherboard and i did everything i suppose to do but i cant hear a motherboard sound on it even i move the ram out still no sound means some wrong with motherboard or cpu any help plzzzzzzz

  • can you put a sata II HDD with the included sata "6GB/s" cable and port on the mobo?

  • What monitor u are using?

  • Hi, I thought I'd let you know on what those jumpers are for. The manual for this board on page 2.6 states: "These jumpers allow you to enable or disable the CPU, DRAM bus, and QPI overvoltage settings in the BIOS. These jumpers then allow you to switch the settings from 1.7 V to 2.48 V range.

So I take it's used for Voltage overclocking jumbers. Though I'm not sure why you need this since this can be done in the Bios anyways. Though it's good to know for CPU/RAM voltage settings.

  • dose this motherboard support windows 7 if so as a gamer what version of windows would be good for me

  • @bigedd2008 windows 7 is the best, get 64 bit if ur computer supports it.

  • Is this better than premiume! Plz reply!

  • @TheXtremeGamer90

What do you mean by "better"? It can do virtually everything the premium can. The differences are that the E has no heat pipe cooling on the southbridge, 1 ethernet port instead of 2, and no reset button.

But from what I have read the E has a different (better?) RAID controller than the premium. I think the E is better. The premium costs a lot more and you don't really gain anything amazing.

  • running 2way sli on this will be at 8x/8x?

  • @idiiidit

I believe all X58 boards can run dual 16X pcie.

  • @idiiidit 16x/16x/1x

  • WOW Your cat is fucking awesome!

And So Are you! :) Thank you :)

  • Looks like a leopard?

  • I bought this board, love it, my stuff came out of that little bag too lol. Anyway, what is the point of the On Board Power Switch?

  • So is getting the premium version of this worth it? Or should I save my money and get this motherboard?

  • @DJPJR8462 Just get this board, you don't need all the nonsense the other board has. I have this board with a I7 930 at 4.0ghz, and its great! I suggest it

  • The cat looks hungry! It was smelling the box at 0.03! LOL!

  • This guys currently replacing Tj Harlow for me and plus i love this guys voice :D

  • no esata connection :(?

  • i love your cat!

  • im using this mobo for like 5 days or more..

    can someone pls answer??

i turned on the xtreme phase in the bios

would that make my power usage higher? cpu voltage is at 1.16v

  • @ashrocks87 extreme phase is designed to deliver cleaner power t the cpu not necessarly more :D thats good for oc :d

  • lolcats

  • lol @ your cat

  • does this motherboard support windows 7? it is compatible with core i7 970 ?

    thank you

  • @markoulas2 I'd imagine so.

  • @markoulas2

    0:45 ...

  • standard ram clips because the dimms are far from the PCI-e slot so the clip won't get stuck behind the graphics card

  • so, the difference with the premium is a raid 0 support..

  • what kind of cat is that? looks like the wild cat type

  • Nice video, answered a few of my questions... thanks!

  • Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R versus Asus P6X58D-E (same price here).

Which of the two is better and more reliable. I know the most obivous differences are that the Asus mobo does not have eSATA and one less PCI-E v2.0, but aside from this, which would you recommend ?

  • @MG5319 hmm what do u need? how many gpu etc?

  • @razzp25 I bought the Asus P6X58D-E it was a bit cheaper a few days ago. I don't really need e-SATA and the extra PCI-e slot. Dual bios sounds nice but isn't necessary either. Furthermore, I dont get why the Gigabyte motherboard still has IDE and floppy. Hardly anyone uses 'em. I have ordered an XFX HD5870 and will be doing a crossfire in the future so max 2 cards.

  • That cat is cute

  • Where is corsfire brige?

  • @XVAGOSX1

crossfire bridge always comes with the graphic card.

  • @delonh92 Yes,but if someone want 3 way sli brige?

  • @XVAGOSX1

it is up to the board manufacturer to supply 3 way sli connector or crossfire bridge if they feel the need to if the pci express lanes are different to others

  • Nice cat!

  • 0:02 Linus is thinkin

    "Bitch get off my table"

  • Very nice motherboard I think I may go for x58 with my build from a 750i rig. :)

  • 8:30 MOTHERBOARD!!!! hahaha

  • like ur cat..bro

  • i just did a build with this board and an i7930 it posted fine but none of the usb ports seem to work so i dont have a mouse and its impossible to navigate windows w/o one any help would be greatly appreciated other than that it seems like a great board spects are i7930 thermaltake frio gtx 285 crucial 128gb ssd corsair hx1000 /windows7

  • @asus3571

did you put the pins to correct places? or you should just call for warranty

  • @ashrocks87 yea there in the right places but that should have nothing to do with the onboard usb ports on the back of the mobo

  • @asus3571

go for warranty, there's no point trying to figure it out or something

  • @ashrocks87 agree i already awitch it for a ud5

  • @asus3571

good with you! i got my very first build this day.. p6x58d-e is my chosen mobo, runs good.. gonna try the games later

  • I HAVE ONE Question
