I actually agree with emopatrol as far as the image is concerned. I like black metal that isn't pushy with their "look i have gauntlets and plate armor, that makes me a good musician" attitude.

I look at Dimmu Borgir and mock them. But then I listened to their song Sacreligous Scorn and no I love them. Listen to the songs, dont judge on appearance. Because yeah, black metalers do LOOK like posers, but they're not.

as far as Brandan and Phil goes, he will NEVER be as good as Mr. Anselmo. he more or less stole every line Phil used in concert. i was lucky enough to see Pantera 6 times and BT 5 up until their last couple tours. aside from Brandan' 'roll' everything else is lifted out of Phil's performance, and wuite poorly i might add.

well, i don't think he's purposely trying either, it just happens. i just couldn't get into the Truth. i mean, it had some good songs on it, for love and failing, tragedy of empty...., it just seemed very repetitive to me. plus, i hated the mix on the drums and guitars. it sounded too loose for me. while there new stuff sounds alot like Slayer, the two songs i've heard sound awesome. the best thing they can do is leave Trustkill and bring back older songs into the live set.

yeah man agreed, i must admit some of the drumming on the truth is a bit sloppy.. dearly demented and tragedy are definitely the 2 best tracks off the truth.. to me i think they stand out above all the rest. the drumming on the 2 new songs sound tight as fuck though.

in my opinion, the Truth lacked alot of the grandness of Portrait. now, i didn't like the mix on that album either but the songs were so epic, it was like these mini-journeys into pain and anger. i miss that. just listen to tracks like Our Enemies, Just Another Pretty Face, Savior, Saint.... classic shit right there. i really hope there aren't any ballads and less signing on the new one. cheers man!
