You can clearly see the Yushin Maru 3 turned hard to starboard so their tail (Which is the heaviest part of the boat, thus being able to cause the most damage) would swing over and hit the Bob Barker. Ever put your car into a skid? Thats a pretty good example for what they did. They wanted to sink the Barker, and probably to kill the entire crew.

The Bob Barker was trying to get out from the middle of the circle by escaping through a gap between the Number 3 and number 2...While trying to break through the Maru collided with the Barker. Anyone can see (besides you) that the SM3 is actually veering towars the BB then makes a sharp turn to starboard. This makes their stern swing into the BB causing the colision. At no point did the BB alter its course.

Furthermore, a ship does not pivot on its middle. Turning to the right will not move the stern left. A ships rudder shifts position, and the ship pivots on its stern.
It's impossible for it not to have been caused by the BB.

Hey Tony Bologna, look again. If you sight down the side of the Bob Barker, you can see the Japanese factory ship they're following. The Yushin Maru 3 was doing a "drive by" to intimidate the SSCS to turn away, but turned away too late.
The rudder is in the stern, as are the props. The stern always swngs wide on a turn as the rudder pushes it away from the direction of the bow. That's why it swung into the Bob Barker.

I can't agree with your suggestion Japan ignores the political reality. From my point of view, Japan has bowed to international pressure too many times, and I think this current regime of research whaling represents as much a humiliation as it does a compromise.
And so your comparison of Japan to the Faroe Islands is unfair. Faroe Islands, Iceland, and all those other economic/civilisational leaders will never face the same pressures and bigotry which the people of Japan are now dealing with.
