Soubi88, it would depend on the medium you are using. If it is acrylic, use the same technical applications as oil though the medium of acrylic is vastly limited, in terms of its physical capabilities, so the result isn't the same. Watercolors respond wonderfully to fine art techniques to provide the illusion of light, and can in fact be painted quite aggressively to obtain startling results, though you don't have the advantage of layers of oil.
