This is different from the record I had as a child, but very slightly. He had lost his echo.....not his voice. I came from such a small town that I played this on a old crank up victrola, a 78 rpm......I played it over and over...I was about 5 years old.....I'm 57 now.
@PICKLETREE (myself) Actually, I might have found it. The donkey's name is Panchito. If I'm wrong and you know what I'm talking about, let me know! Thanks again for posting this! My sisters and I have been wanting to relive childhood.
gee THANKS FOR POSTING THIS ! I USED TO LISTEN TO THIS ON AN OLD 78RPM RECORD WHICH MY PARENTS HAD BOUGHT FOR US KIDS, OF WHICH I WAS THE YOUNGEST OF 4. I'VE ONLY IMAGINED IT IN MY MIND, BUT ENJOYED SEEING THE CARTOON. ONCE AGAIN, "THANKS FOR POSTING THIS" !! THANKS AND..."GOODBYE, GOODbye, goodbye, goo.....
I can not, for all i am trying to, remember where I first saw this from, but I remember that these series of cartoons were some of my favorites. Thank you so much for posting this, and may many blessings go your way for this spark of happiness.
I never saw the video before. Thanks for posting. My Dad had the 45 record of this when he was a kid. I listened to that when I was a kid in the early 70's. I still have the 45.
This is too funny! I remember watching this when I was in grade school, back in the 60's, and I just about died when the fish was talking.
I then learned how to make that sound with your uvula, and would walk around saying that stuff the fish said, cracking my family and friends up. I still can do it, LOL!!! Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
It was also a "Mel-O-Toon". I don't have my video anymore, but this one and Panchito were both on my video together. I found a site where you can order these old cartoons. Thanks again for putting this up, I have been searching for the name of this cartoon forever. I was beginning to think I was the only person who liked this one! haha.
You're very welcome- I was starting to think I was the only one who even knew about or liked this cartoon also ^^ My video as you can tell is rather destroyed. haha- ah well at least it works well enough ^^
As a kid I just LOVED this! I had a 78rpm LP and I played and played this over and over. Tonight my wife asked "Who knows?" and I said "The Man in the Mountain Knows .. that's how" and it started a search for Sparky's Magic Echo. Thanks SO much for posting this!
Awws you're very welcome <3 I'm really sorry about the crappy quality- but It makes me feel bad to know I wasnt the only one who loved this ^^ You made my day-
hahaha! and yes, I'm working on your pm, I was doing fine 'til Chrissy and Sarah hijacked me to get Jamie and Tiki's new vid to number one. Did you see Chrissy's comments?! she's a funny gal that one, I heart her, I really do ^-^
The kid in it was so kawaii and didn't that bear sound an awful lot like Goofy?!
The sound effects used in the voices were really good for such an old animation and I have to agree with your comment about simplicity = happiness.
I bet society would be a much happier and better functioning place if we had no technology in the morning and had to go back to living with the basics, the essentials of life....maybe not stone age basic but you know what I mean ^-^
now that you mention it the bear did sound like goofy 0.o.
and yea- basics = good I know what you mean. But I would die without alot of the technology we have (internet... my wii, tv etc) XD I'll admit. But I am also easy to please so thats good too
I could give up everything bar the internet, though I don't think I managed too bad when my last laptop died....just a *few* withdrawal symptoms...like the shaky hands, crazed eyes....lol!
lol I actually survived really well without the internet for over a month- and my only symptoms were that I was really bored and missed all my online friends
@GanF88 The voice of the bear and the fish were by Pinto Colvig, who also did the voice for Goofy in the Disney cartoons, so that's why they sound like Goofy, with the fish's laugh and everything. This record was on the Capitol Records label and Pinto Colvig did the voice of Bozo the Clown for Capitol Records and on several other records as well.
TV cards are cheaper these days so it would be better to capture video to computer and skip the camera. Oh well, off to ebay to find it.
