  • Where the hell can I watch this?

  • @Aurorified 1channel.ch Use the putlocker links.

  • If North Korea will be joining the Olympics, team USA,ROMANIA and RUSSIA will be surely rattled! :)

  • Most of these people whom are watching the mass games and performing it are of a higher class in the North Korean society. Higher class citizens there get privileges such as being well-fed, spared from concentration camps and a bit more respect. The rest of them, mostly peasants, are treated harshly and cruelly.

  • it would appear that they are training them to be ants. Which is great for insects but not so much for humans.

  • So many comments about this video by people who have obviously seen this documentary are so full of hate. It's so distressing to see so many people who don't seem to understand. Many of North Korea's ideals are different than mine. For example I would not sacrifice my freedom to aspire to perfection.Much of their lives is concerned with an effort to be a small part in the greater good. The documentary was about understanding a country so mysterious and misunderstood.I wish people could be more open

  • @myguiltypleasures1 completely agreed. before I saw this documentary; people described North Korea to me as a brainwashing trap for it's citizens. But now I get to see the actual enjoyment in their lives. They're enjoyments are different than ours; but they still enjoy their lives and smile everyday.

  • @myguiltypleasures1 Perfection, the total subjugation of its people to an elite upper class led by a questionably sane dictator who drinks $800,000 in Hennessey Cognac while his people starve.

  • @myguiltypleasures1 I don't hate the North Koreans, or even this ideology and culture, I hate the way they are treated, and mislead. They are starving to death, the government has gulag's on par with Hitler's concentration camps, and the people are ruled by leaders who keep them in a state of suffering and do nothing about it. That's the part that I hate. They all seem like very wonderful people. I have nothing against them at all.

  • i loved the music, does anyone know what music that was?

  • This documentary is soooo awesome! BEST EVER!

  • where can I pirate this? TPB isn't showing any relevant result.

Some use knife and fork to eat, some use chopsticks to eat. The one who use chopsticks is labled as 'brainwashed'.

  • @72won10lost

Japanese and South Koreans both use chopsticks. No one is calling them brainwashed. Don't be a fucktard.

  • To me there is nothing wrong with it.

U guys must have been brainwashed.

Stop imagining things with your limited understanding of nature and humans.

  • George Orwell "1984" came true to life and that is at North Korea. Big Brother Kim is watching you Comrade!

  • Its a pleasure to see Leninism has still left in the world. And dont forget the China

  • @4CaHeK What do you mean? China is as capitalist as they come.

  • @jwh30385 Lol! China is communist.

  • @4CaHeK Do you know what communism is..? China is home to some of the world's largest PRIVATE business corporations. Hundreds of global Chinese corporations are listed on the Dow Jones, NASDAQ and NYSE. China has one of the least regulated market economies in the world, an economy that is less regulated than the US, Japanese and European markets. Explain to me exactly how the Shanghai stock exchange and the China World Trade Center fit in with communism. Mao would roll in his grave.

  • @jwh30385 You live in usa, and you are teaching me what communism is? Thats lol! China is very smart. It is now a communist state, they done awsome jod, they took good of capitalism, and good ideas from socialism, now they are taking worlds economy in their hands, and soon they will be world's economic superpower owning worlds economy. Thats why usa is fearing them and pushing on China. Because you fear communism like hell. Communism is a poison to usa's bourgouse.

  • @4CaHeK I obviously know more about communism than you. You just stated yourself that you have absolutely no idea what communism really is. They have indeed done an awesome job in growing their economy. Like you said, they took good ideas from capitalism; They opened their markets = Capitalism. There is nothing communist about the Chinese economy, and as communism is an economic ideology, China then can not be a communist country.

  • @jwh30385 hahaah well then tell me what communism is by your understanding? Name at least some countries that have/had been communist? I think that i wont be surprised with your answer after you tell about communism.

  • @4CaHeK Communism is an economic ideology aimed at a classless society with common ownership of wealth and resources. I can't really think of any country that has ever successfully implemented communism the way Marx and Engels intended it. The Soviet Union and the former East Bloc were somewhat close, Cuba and North Korea as well. The countries were (and are) planned economies, where the the vast majority of resources and wealth are owned by the state. China, the US etc. have market economies.

  • @jwh30385 You cant compare Soviet Union to communism, because SU wasnt even communist country. Btw today western media calls China Communist every time it mention China :D. In western media there is no word "China", there is word "Communist China".

  • @4CaHeK I've rarely ever seen western media refer to China as "communist China", and when it has been, it's been to differentiate it from Taiwan (The Republic of China). The SU at least had a planned, centralized economy, nearly all companies were state-owned, and they sure didn't trade stocks on the NY Stock Exchange or send private companies to Africa. China is a free market-economy, with less market regulations than the US has.. America's market is in many ways more socialist than China's.

  • @jwh30385 fascist

  • @theFEMAcampESCAPEE Aah right, I dare speak against communism, so I must be a fascist.

  • @jwh30385 no i wasnt calling u a fascist. in your other comment, u said america is socialist in many ways. in some ways it is, but its a lot more along the lines of fascism. a small handful of big corporations and banks control almost everything; politics, money, foreign policy, news media, etc. and thats the definition of fascism, when corporations have more power than the state. but i should have been more clear. now that i look at my comment, it does look like i was calling u a fascist lol

  • @4CaHeK The Soviet Union actually was a communist country. Where are you getting your facts?

  • @OrangeCoolius2 You are idiot? I dont know where YOU getting facts, most likely somewhere in western propoganda media. You are uneducated. You should know reality. Ussr wasnt communist coutry. It was socialist.

  • @4CaHeK Communist or socialist, either one both stem from the left-wing politics of Marxism. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics WAS a communist country, this very straightforeward fact can be concluded from any former member of the communist party prior to the USSR's dissolution and from Russian Historical Archieves.

  • @Torchmark though they claim to be socailist or communist, they are both fascist.

  • @4CaHeK During Mao, China did follow the principles of communism, but during the last couple of decades, China has opened its markets (by definition abandoning communism), and its economy is booming. As an American, I'd fear China a lot less if they had actually stuck to communism. When China was a planned economy, Japan was the major economic power in Asia. It wasn't until China turned into the capitalist dictatorship it is today that it became a superpower.

  • This makes that Beijing Olympics opening ceremony look like child's play! lol

  • I also admit it disturbed me that these dedicated young people work so hard for their beloved General, and he didn't even attend one performance out of the many they performed for his honor. Some of the leaders that were in attendance looked bored, checking their watches. These people are 100% committed and they at least deserve a great deal of respect for that devotion/hard work from the leadership at the top.

  • I've watched this doc. on Netflix. It is very interesting and does put a human face on North Korea. The 2 girls are totally adorable. I'm not going to talk abt brainwashing since we all are brainwashed under whatever system we live under, but I do wish the average person there had more assess to the international community and I was concerned abt how abnormally thin the young people looked. One chicken and 5 eggs a month isn't enough protein for growing bodies.

  • I was amazed by this documentary, for many reasons. I lived in south korea for 5 years, so I see the resemblances with South Koreans, in terms of being from the same blood and same descents...but this is a totally different mind set they are in... which will make it very hard for a reunification...I'd like to sit down with one of these girls or boys just to have a conversation, but even this would be impossible. Anyway, just shows they are also people, even if they have to repress their feelings

  • The choreography in the games and displays are second to none ...Saw the Doco and was sadened and amazed at the same time....

  • @fjbutch Yeah it sure is great they can waste MILLIONS on stupid dancing while the majority of the country is starving and without electricity.

  • This is an amazing documentary. I was really astonished by the amount of access the film crew was granted. This is a documentary I think everybody should see if they want to understand the mind set of North Korea, and it gives North Korea a more human face.

As for the people, they are product of their environment, and unfortunately their environment is run by nut case who wields supreme power.

  • The great method to recognize a brainwashed person is when you see that person calling another people as a "brainwashed person".

  • Вот что большевики натворили

  • Does anyone know where I can watch this online?

  • poor brainwashed people. their government is made solely of communist criminals...

  • Saw this documentary, it was awesome for a look into their lives.

In "history" class the teacher asks the kids to name the three "greatnesses" of the "Great leader". The first is "greatness in ideology", the second is "greatness in aura" and I forget the third. They even name their flowers after Kim Jong Il, it's insane brainwashing.

  • why was the full documentary remove how sad.

  • @haodi13 It's sad but it is coming up on BBC 4 If you want to watch it!!

  • It's estimated that there are at least 50,000 North Korean refugees living in China, although the Chinese government refuses to acknowledge them. How would these people react to this video?

  • great doc. a must watch

  • I am watching this in English, it's a great film, I am in love with the Mass Games.

  • why is it that the north korean people, as protrayed on documentary, look upon the leader like a god?

  • they are brainwashed to?

  • great trailer and even better documentary

  • Where can I watch this documentary? I've looked all over for it.

  • Search thepiratebay . org for it. Most if it was in Korean unfortunately. :(

  • It's hard to believe that from the 50's through to as late as the 70's, North Korea was one of the richest countries in the world, being the most developed country in Asia and more developed than most Western countries. How it managed to to become the world's poorest, most oppressed and most isolated country is hard to imagine.

  • - Oil crisis 70's

    - Fall of Soviet Union

    - Military come first policy

    - Old system hard to change

  • I hope those girls one day realize, one day, how deluded they were.

  • Free North Korea

  • if you look at the older documentaries you see that there is an evolution of north korea and that gives me hope for the adorable korean nation

  • the North is very different from the democracy that many westerners and modern governments are used to.

I'm very sure that someone living along the standards of a democratic nation disagree highly with communism. This is a nation that lives differently, and it's hard to adjust.

But I really hope that there is no negative tention between this country another, or a resident of another country hating north korea. I myself should hate the North, but instead I adjust to their living standards.

  • They're different, but they also brainwash people with extremely negative views of the world. They make their kids read textbooks containing stories about how south korea lives so much worse and how they are more cruel. It makes them appreciate their commnunism country and never think about fleeing. But a lot of people do try to run away from the country because they know the truth...

  • Dude, are you people really justifying the North Korean regime? How many millions of people have been killed by the state? It appears that being a slave of America (i.e. Japan) is great for the people who live their. South Korea flourishes and its people don't starve, while the Northen folk eat clay and bark.

  • That's only partly true. There are some class in the society where they arent starve to death, but there are many others who starve... They say communism is for the people... watching north korea makes me doubt that strongly

  • north korea isnt a communist state.

you shouldnt judge communism on north korea.north korea is a country ran by a nut who definetly does not see himself as equal to his countrymen

  • I shouldnt judge communism on north korea? I'm south korean and everytime I see a documentary on north korea, and see people interviewing the north koreans, or see the north korean news, the north koreans themselves always talk about how great communism is, and how it's for the people. I dont judge, I'm just saying the facts.

  • @smcg15 North Korea is a communist state

  • @OrangeCoolius2 ... so what ?

  • your out of your mind

  • North Korea is the most goddamn craziest nation in the whole world. much crazier than Osama Bin Laden

  • you really dont understand north korea do you

You idiot North Korea isn't crazy, they only seem crazy because to you because they won't become America's slave!

  • why dont you shut the fuck up redneck- let others be..shit you are more stalinist than a communist, im right you're wrong....ring a bell?

  • sperm cells mouth? why dont u take your pussy juice and shove it

  • shut up~ you piece of shit~ u r talking like dirty male whore

  • and u aren't? go to hell and leave North Korea alone bastard

  • You're the perfect example as to why billions of people in the world hate the US.

  • @theantikikyo

I am not American, but you are obviously a douche. And I commend you for achieving this on more than one level.

  • WHERE CAN I SEE THIS!!!!!!!??????

  • i got this video at blockbuster... absolutely love it.

  • I had Never actually heard a real Korean from the North!

They had another accent, different from any of the ones you find in the South (Not similar to either the Seoul(standard), the Jeolla-Do, Gyengsang-Do, Gangwon-Do, Jeju-Do, Chungchon-Do accent) I know this must be boring to read, but I just wanted to comment on this, since it's new for me...

    Greetings~

  • wherecan i see this documentary?

  • get it on netflix, its kinda rare.

  • that last message was for darklord1984. reply button doesn't appear to be working correctly.

  • ok, this is interesting...

  • click on my name for some great north korean propaganda videos, they give you a taste of north korean TV

  • I luckily found this movie at my local blockbuster. These guys who made the documentery also did a documentery on the North Korean soccer team that beat italy in the 1966 world cup

  • There is a lot of poverty. I once watched a documentary made up of secret camcorder recordings (presented by a South Korean): I saw a woman who had boarded a train without a ticket get shouted and abused at, as well as a child try to steal food at a market place and get beaten, as well as a public execution-all secretly taped without the authorities realising.

  • Yeah I've seen that too I think. VERY interesting stuff. Was it the one where that guy who snuck over from china with the video camera interviewing a kid?

  • No...the one I saw was an 'episode' of Dispatches, a series shown on Channel 4. Actually, are you talking about the guy who smuggled in a camera phone so the presenter could talk to the boy in North Korea? Probably was the same one then.

  • many women around the world are shouted, if they board without ticket.

millions of children are stealing food at market place all the world (and of course they will get beaten if caught).

the thing is - "we need to know more (real) facts about North Korea"

  • How do you know there are poverty in north korea ? Cause they are reported in unparallel news? From where? USA? Think about it before you decide and speak.

  • Thought about it long before you posted. First to report the poverty of Korea: Japan media, not US. Since then Red Cross and many others have reported people starving, eating grass. Don't believe them? Talk to relief agencies that have been trying to get food to them. The gov't takes it and gives it to the army, the people still go hungry. this has been reported in the media of many different countries. not just us.

  • Of course we've thought before we speak. 3 million dead after the last famine, 250.000 refugees gone to China. Are you going to say now that China is an imperialist country and wants to lie about North Korea?

Also: when you've got the guards in your border looking at each other's faces so none of them runs away, you've got some problems with your country.

  • I've seen the documentary a dozen times, and it stays fascinating to see, along with a few other documentaries about the 'real' life of North Korean people.

  • i downloaded(legally) this clip along with one other music video of this movie a couple months ago. the mv is quite good and since i've not seen it on youtube, i'll try to upload the mv one in a later time. hope that's an "ok" too~^_^a

  • damn i'd like to see it...

  • i watched the full documentary in discovery channel last week and 6 hrs ago

  • You can buy it here http://www.astateofmind.co.uk/ or if you are a cheap capitalist pig :) you can download on emule or other p2p program

  • I'm interested in the full length documentary also, does anyone know where I can get it.

  • I woould like to visit North Korea, but I'm afraid I won't might get back.

  • oh, and they do show the poverty and and all those other bad stuff. but even though the civilians have a hard time, they still believe in their leader and they don't understand why the US labeled them as the "axis of evil".

  • i've seen parts of the full documentary on PBS. they don't censor anything, and they show all the hardships the girls have to go through for the mass games. its a real documentary, not a biased one. u guys havnt seen it, so stop claiming negative stuff about it.

  • I doubt what they got from the interviewees was really uncensored. The interviewees would have known what happens if they said something wrong in front of the guides, so what they said was surely indirectly censored.

The mass games are undoubtedly amazing though.

  • i want to see it too, north korea is like the final frontier, a completely unique civilisation, possibly the very last of it's kind. i guess it would be interesting to visit that place.

  • I'm also interested in seeing the full length documentary

  • Never seen the documentary but it probably doesn't show much of the poverty and hardships of the people.

  • has anybody the full length documentary?
