But would the scholarship compensate for the cost of a mission? It might be cheaper just to skip the mission and go straight to LDSBC without a scholarship.
I guess for a secularist such as yourself it would be hard to understand the value of a mission. I'll repeat what mstryker15 posted below: You're wasting time directing your new life thesis at a two-year private school.
I attended the LDS Business College in the early 90's. It was the best thing in the world! One day a teacher called me to remind me of an assignment. What teacher does that in College??? Anyway, it was small, it was fun, and it was clean. We had a great choir of which I belonged and there is not party college or secular institution that does not include faith in the curriculum that compares to what you get at a college like this. Good stuff!
I'm sorry if you're unable to reconcile faith and science in your world view - you sell both divinity and humanity short. Education is inherently spiritual. You're wasting time directing your new life thesis at a two-year private school.
Fundamental Goals 1. To strengthen the testimonies of students in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. 2. To train students in marketable career skills that lead to productive employment. 3. To prepare students in general education for successful transfer to a four-year institution. 4. To provide spiritual, social, and service experiences outside the classroom. 5. To provide quality instruction through professionally qualified and spiritually grounded instructors.

Space constraints required me to lop off the 6th goal:
6. To provide quality institutional support services within the current physical space of the campus.
So what is this *business* college's #1 goal?

I think young people would be better off at a college with a genuine appreciation of academic freedom and truth unrestrained by religious doctrine.

I think people who have never attended LDSBC should withhold judgement on notions of a lack of academic freedom.
