  • Hi. Do You use fishman electronics or taylor expression system?

  • @gdanskJam neither,this guitar has a k&k pure western mini

  • Hey Scott, awesome videos, just had a question.

The chord in the chorus (looks like a double bar over the 2nd and 4th frets, with the pinkie out on the 5th fret of the high E, and the hammer on the 3rd fret of the B string) is really tricky for me to catch. I can handle the fingering of it, but how exactly do you play it / which notes do you hit?

  • I have learned a lot from your playing, and from your lessons.

    Thanks for all the effort!

And I'm glad you even got some recognising from big T himself.

    you deserve that much!

  • very well done mate! I have a cover of this song on my channel, I recorded it the night before i played it for tommy. he said the only thing i had wrong was the first hard chord at the end of the intro. he says he covered two strings with his thumb. and also plays the high e string on the 3rd fret. it was very hard to learn but i did it and showed him and he said it was the closest hes ever heard, give it a try, its a real stretch! all the best

  • very nice :D

    but somthing lack XD

  • hi Scott i think u said in one of your videos that u have small fingers. i aslo got that problem. i tried to do the second chords of this song (3rd fret of the low e (d) string. 5th fret on the d string, 2nd fret on the g string and 3rd fret on the b string. i tried to do it with the thumb but my hand is too small. any tips?

  • @lotem102 all I can say is that you have to keep stretching you hands. try to have the whole palm of your hand against the back of the neck. and also it helps if you rotate your hand downwards so that your fingers can reach over more. hope that helps a little!

  • @ScottTsai hi Scott thx for the fast answer. i tried to do what u said but it's still hard. i got an alternative - i use open strings instead of the strings and frets that Tommy uses. Ill let you know if i'll ever film a video of me playing it (well i'm just on the intro...) thx again, Lotem

  • @lotem102 Try a Shorter Scale guitar like a Gibson or a Seagull even! Might be what you need for your smaller hands. Sure works better for mine! My Gibson j-185 is a ton easier to play than my Taylor! Hope this helps!

  • I think you have similar hands to me.. do you find the intro chords quite tricky getting the thumb over? I know I do.. very nice playing! I still can't play this with a pick :( I just use fingers.

  • sounds great!

    one stupid quastion:

why do you play those who wait, angelina and some other masterpieces with a pick?

Is it an honour to great composer or your own will?

if i play it with a thumbpick or with nails will it sound worse?

  • @trifQwert hey thats not a stupid question at all! I play it with a pick because thats the way tommy plays it himself. I feel like the piece would sound very different if i played it with nails or a thumbpick. I think he chose to use a pick in these songs because it is easier to emphasize the melody. Thats just my own idea though. Thanks for the question

  • whats the tuning for this song?

  • @jhuffguitarist7 drop D

  • nice job brother!!!

  • @tripfall224 Hey thanks, I appreciate it!

  • Favorited! <3

  • everyone can catch this first chord :) just believe in your ability! trust me ;)

  • @anoj18 listen to this guy haha

  • thanks scott , youre one fine player

  • that sure is tough on the left hand , how do you do it

  • @1610austin just have to stretch stretch and stretch some more. when i first started playing this song I thought there was no way i could reach those chords but now it's relatively easy. if i can do it anyone can. my hands are not big at all

  • Scott, Outstanding, you nailed it!!

  • what kind of mic are you using here and also what kind of guitar

  • wow you are really good bro

  • you are the best on the net!!!!!You have a big genius for guitar!!!....you are lucky!!

  • I've been playing the guitar since I was 7 years old and I'm now 52. I lived for the guitar when I was your age and I still rarely ever go a day without giving it at least an hour of practice. Of course, I'm good but I NEVER was as advanced as you ... especially when I was at the age you are now. I have to say that you kids have a wonderful advantage with the exposure to other guitarists that I never had back in the 60s. Scott, your playing is very smooth and a real pleasure to listen to.

  • Well done.

  • played with feeling. 5*

  • got another question, wht yamaha model you had before? can you provide a tab for 1:25-1:42 min of this video, i don't seem to get it by ear and by the way you play it. thnx.

  • ei what type of gauge string do you use? what was the guitar you used when you had your tommy emmanuel tutorial?

  • i use elixir phosphor bronze light nanowebs. when i played with tommy i used a cheap yamaha i got from costco. i didnt expect to be playing with tommy

  • why do you play Those Who Wait better than mombassa??????

To me, Mombassa have always been harder to play than Those Who Wait

  • why do you not have more views??

  • can i hav the tab?

  • Great Job, after many years I am picking up the box again. Where might I find the TAB for this song?

  • You're very good! Piezo pickup?

  • hEY!!! waht about Drivetime??7?? Its wanderful!!!! i want you to make a lesson!!

  • I think i got the same guitar just without the cut away, have u noticed the action is a little high?

  • hey! good job!

btw, what brand/type of strings do you use?

  • elixir phosphor bronze nanoweb

  • your guitar mid tone is a little outstanding, you can think about my suggestion,i think will be improve your effects

  • you should adjust the EQ,turn up the treble will be great, and good job

  • This is great. Thank you for posting.

  • Excellent Scott, very helpful to learners like me. Do you reckon you could get the top part of the neck in shot next time. Thats the only gripe I have.:)

  • click the link in the video description... it leads to a lesson i put up

  • hey just wondering what kind of guitar do u have? i know it's a taylor..

and by the way.. ur real good..

i'm gonna work my hardest to sounds lik u and TE =]

  • taylor 414ce

  • haha do u have any other guitars?

  • awesome cover, so close to the original it sounds just like the man himself is playing it

  • no its a regular 414ce. it was made in 2003 when they didnt have the ES system yet. the woods are still sitka spruce and ovangkol

  • Great job on this tune. I learned this recently and it has some tricky fingering. What kind of recording upgrade did you do?

  • i got a e-mu 0404 recording interface and a mxlv63m condenser mic

  • awesome playing, like all of your covers! can't wait for the tutorial. 5 * from me

  • 5*s from me.

  • what model of guitar is that bro'..

    5 stars

  • Looks like a Taylor 414Ces with a "stealth ES" pick-up system.

Great picking,Scott. Thanks for posting. I hope you will post a tutorial on this song, too.

    Greetings, Joe

  • yea its a 414ce but the pickup is a k&k pure western mini
