Streisand is gimmicky and fake and over the top with false drama. Boyle is far better..fresh and unique interpretation underplayed yet stronger in her approach. Streisand could take lessons; take it down a few notches and drop the drama and sing not lecture.

Striesand has gone for an unusual, very stylised rendition whilst Boyle has opted for the safer, much loved and familiar traditional classic version. Both great singers but I'm sure that if Striesand had performed it conventionally, we would all love it.

Listen to the 1999 version that Boyle did for charity, it's even better than the version on her CD.

As for Babs, I love her, but her Cry Me A River is one of the worst I've ever heard.

I wonder why there is always this competition factor involved. I *love* Barbra and she has been a major source of inspiration for me for years. I think she creates a play in three to five acts in every song she sings. But I have never been happier for anyone than when Susan Boyle wowed Britain and the world with I Dreamed a Dream in her first audition. Barbra and Susan are unique artists with different styles. Why can't we celebrate them both instead of dissing one to praise another?
