This is a finely dovetailed piece of writing Rolland...my Mother passed just before Christmas and is buried in Spain...a long long way from the coal mines and forested vales of Nottinghamshire. I probably won't ever get to see the place, which doesn't matter as she isn't really there anyway. Loss is a strange thing, feeling little is more angst ridden in many ways than heartbreak...what complex creatures we human beings are my friend.
@CaptGolightly Firstly Andrew, and I don't wish this to sound obligatory because it isn't in this case, but I am saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. Distance never keeps us apart whether it is here on earth or someplace else because our hearts bridge barriers like that. It is what we do down here when people are yet with us that matters most. You are very insightful and correct when you say we are complex creatures my friend.

These are the hardest moments life throws at us but if, through the pain we feel here, I've been able to help some... well, that also proves that we never really die. I accept your thanks but deep down I feel as if Jamie is the one helping to ease your pain through me. We touch more people in our lives and even after we pass than we might ever realize.
